This paper describes a multi-physics analysis of a high resolution winding type resolver and rotary transformer using FEM (Finite Element Method). The rotary transformer boosts the input voltage to a high voltage which can be input into the rotor windings of the resolver. Through multi-physics models of the transformer and resolver, the characteristics of the output signals for the resolver system with high resolution can be derived. Moreover, the circuit model of the interface part between the transformer and resolver should be considered, because of the calculation of the input current to the resolver. The winding type resolver is composed of 32x and 1x stator windings for high resolution. Then, the output signals of the stator windings, which make sinusoidal SIN and COS waves with a $90^{\circ}$ phase difference, are verified.

In this paper, the subthreshold swing has been analyzed for double gate FinFET under channel length of 20nm. The analytical current model has been developed, including thermionic current and tunneling current models. The potential distribution by Poisson equation and carrier distribution by Maxwell-Boltzman statistics are used to calculate thermionic emission current, and WKB(Wentzel-Framers-Brillouin) approximation to tunneling current. The cutoff current is obtained by simple adding two currents since two current is independent. The subthreshold swings by this model are compared with those by two dimensional simulation and two values are good agreement. Since the tunneling current increases especially under channel length of 10nm, the characteristics of subthreshold swing is degraded. The channel and gate oxide thickness have to be fabricated as thin as possible to decrease this short channel effects and this process has to be developed. The subthreshold swings as a function of channel doping concentrations are obtained.

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a kind of nondestructive testing technique that obtains the internal resistivity distribution from the voltages measured at the electrodes located outside the area of interest. However, an image reconstruction problem in EIT has innate non-linearity and ill-posedness, so that it is difficult to obtain satisfactory reconstructed results. In general, a neural network can efficiently model the input and output relationships of a non-linear system. This paper proposes a method for estimating the position and size of a circular target using a multi-layer neural network. To verify the performance of the proposed method, neural network was trained and various computer simulations were performed and satisfactory performance was verified.
X-rays used for diagnosis have a continuous energy distribution. However, photons with low energy not only reduce image contrast, but also contribute to the patient's radiation exposure. Therefore, clinics currently use filters made of aluminum. Such filters are advantageous because they can reduce the exposure of the patient to radiation. However, they may have negative effects on imaging quality, as they lead to increases in the scattered dose. In this study, we investigated the effects of the scattered dose generated by an aluminum filter on medical image quality. We used the relative standard deviation and the scatter degradation factor as evaluation indices, as they can be used to quantitatively express the decrease in the degree of contrast in imaging. We verified that the scattered dose generated by the increase in the thickness of the aluminum filter causes degradation of the quality of medical images.

We have investigated the experiments in which fabrication and characterization of single-electron transistors were conducted due to easy fabrication and high functionality. In the Fe-MgF2 granular film, in which Fe grains are distributed between insulators instead of the conventional quantum dots, it can be easily fabricated by EB deposition alone, and various output values can be expected by applying two or more gate voltages. The tunneling thickness of the film for single-electron operation was investigated and it was confirmed that the tunneling occurred at 2.1 nm.
The flow analyses around the wing of airplane installed with winglet or sharkelt were carried out in this study. At the model without winglet, it can be seen that the air flows beside the wing and the flow is concentrated at the end of wing. At the model of winglet or sharklet, the pressure on the bottom of the wing happens to be lower in the wide area than for model without winglet. At the analysis result, the air flowing next to the wing can be seen to go over and rotates over the main wing. The model with the sharklet shows that the flow rate is the fastest. In case of model with sharklet, it is thought that the maximum total pressure of flow is distributed at the bottom of the wing, which can further improve the lift force of the wing. It is thought that the analysis results in this study on the air flow due to the configuration of aircraft edge wing can be helped at its convergent research.
This paper contributed to the understanding of the effect of the blade relative position on performance of micro gravitational vortex turbine in free water surface. In a constant vortex flow, the rotation, voltage and current of micro vortex water turbine were measured according to the position change of the blade installed at the relative vortex height (y/hv) ranging from 0 to 0.778 below the free water surface. The flow rate ranged from 0.0063 to 0.00662 m3/s. The results of the experiments showed that relative positions of the blade affected the performance of vortex water turbine because the distributions of incoming flow velocity and turbulence intensity were changed. The highest amount of the energy generated by the vortex water turbine occurred in the relative vortex height ranging from 0.111 to 0.222. The output power at the relative vortex height of 0.111 was about 2.4 times larger than the relative vortex height of 0.588 below the free water surface.

In this study, electric field analysis was conducted for each process as a preliminary step in the design of the electrospinning device to apply the electrospinning PVDF nanofibers to increase the filtering effect of insect screens. In the electrospinning analysis using a single nozzle, it was confirmed that there was a decrease in the electrostatic field strength as the tip's size decreased, an increase in the voltage, and no effect depending on the TCD distance. In addition, it was confirmed that the closer the distance between tips, the more electric field interference occurs, and this was found to have a more significant effect on the tip located in the center with tips on both sides. Therefore, based on these analytical results, it is believed that an increase in production speed can be expected by establishing an efficient process line by confirming the radiating area of the collector and designing the spacing between multi-nozzles through actual experiments.
In this research, we evaluated the performance and characteristics of carbon supported PtM (M = Ni and Y) alloy catalysts (PtM/Cs) synthesized by a modified polyol method. With the PtM/Cs employed as a catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) of cathodes in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), their catalytic and ORR activities and electrical performance were investigated and compared with those of commercial Pt/C. Their particle sizes, particle distributions and electrochemically active surface areas (EAS) were measured by TEM and cyclic voltammetry (CV), while their ORR activity and electrical performance were explored using linear sweeping voltammetries with rotating disk electrodes and rotating ring-disk electrodes as well as PEMFC single cell tests. TEM and CV measurements show that PtM/Cs have the compatible particle size and EAS with Pt/C. When it comes to ORR activity, PtM/C showed the equivalent or better half-wave potential, kinetic current density, transferred electron number per oxygen molecule and $H_2O_2$ production(%) to or than commerical Pt/C. Based on results gained by the three electrode tests, when the PEMFC single cell tests were carried out, the current density measured at 0.6 V and maximum power density of PEMFC single cell adopting PtM/C catalysts were better than those adopting Pt/C catalyst. It is therefore concluded that PtM/C catalysts synthesized by modified polyol can result in the equivalent or better ORR catalytic capability and PEMFC performance to or than commercial Pt/C catalyst.
