Implementation of Anti-Collision Algorithm based on RFID System using FPGA (FPGA를 이용한 RFID 시스템 기반 충돌 방지 알고리즘 구현)

  • In this thesis, a RFID baseband system is implemented based on the international standard ISO/IEC 18000-6 Type-B using FPCA, and also anti-collision algorithm is implemented to improve the system performance. We compares the performance of the proposed anti-collision algorithm with that binary tree algorithm and bit-by-bit algorithm, and also validated analytic results using OPNET simulation. The proposed algorithm for Type-B transmission protocol and collision prohibition was designed using ISE7.1i which is a FPGA design-tool of Xilinx and implemented with Spartan2 chip which is a FPGA device.

  • This paper analyzes the throughput of DCF protocol at the MAC layer in the 802.11a wireless LAN. The throughput of DCF protocol is related on probability of backoff, depends on retransmission of each terminal. This paper applied to nonmarcov discrete model for each terminal BER in the base station versus the packet throughput is progressing with the data rate of 6,12,24,54 Mbps, We find the fact that the less the data rate be the higher the throughput. We also find from the throughput calculation by means of traffic intensity in OFDM wireless LAN.

  • Contention-based forwarding in wireless ad-hoc networks reduces transmission failure rate by selecting one receiver with good channel among multiple receivers. However, contention-based forwarding may increase transmission latency due to the collision problem caused by the simultaneous transmission among multiple receivers. In this paper, we present an analytic model that reflects the delay and collision rate of contention-based forwarding in lossy wireless links. Through the analytic model, we calculate the expected delay and progress in one-hop transmission under given wireless link model and delay model. Based on the analytic results, we observe that delay model should be adapted to wireless link model for optimal performance in contention-based forwarding.

  • In this paper we propose uplink packet transmission scheme based on Synchronized RA. The scheme can afford to support diverse QoS required from diverse multimeda traffics. In order to minimze the collision probability occurred in contention based channel access, we assign a reservation access channel additionally to the traffic channels. Access probability function for controlling collisions occurred in the reservation access channel is applied. Through assigning different access probability to each traffic user with respect to priority issued by his required QoS, the proposed scheme guarantees minimum throughput required by higher priority users in the whole range of system load.

  • This paper proposes an efficient data transmission strategy using adaptive-tier low transmission power schedule in a TDMA-based ad hoc MAC protocol. Since the network resource of ad hoc networks has the characteristic of reassignment due to the multiple interferences and the contention-based limited wireless channel, the efficient time slot assignment and low power transmission scheme are the main research topics in developing ad hoc algorithms. Based on the proposed scheme of interference avoidance when neighbor clusters transmit packets, this paper can minimize the total energy dissipation and maximize the utilization of time slot in each ad hoc node. Simulation demonstrates that the proposed algorithm yields 15.8 % lower energy dissipation and 4.66% higher time slot utilization compared to the ones of two-tier conventional energy dissipation model.

  • 본 논문에서는 패킷 CDMA 망에서 버스트 트래픽 서비스를 위한 MAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 프로토콜은 임의 접속에 의한 패킷 충돌을 줄이기 위하여 코드 상태 감지 및 예약 기법을 사용한다 이를 위하여 기지국에서는 매 프레임마다 예약된 코드의 상태를 방송하고, 단말기는 이를 기반으로 임의의 예약되지 않은 코드를 선택하여 프리앰블을 전송한다. 기지국으로부터 코드 예약에 대한 응답을 수신한 단말기는 남은 프레임 동안 패킷을 전송한다. 한편 전송할 패킷이 단말기 버퍼에 남아있는 경우, 기지국에서는 코드의 상태를 예약상태로 방송하고, 단말기에서는 다음 프레임에서 예약한 코드를 통하여 남은 패킷을 전송한다.

  • in this paper, we propose the Adaptive Decision Algorithm for RFID Tag Anti-Collision. We study the RFID Tag anti-collision technique of ALOHA and the anti-collision algorithm of binary search. The existing technique is several problems; the transmitted data rate included of data, the recognition time and energy efficiency. For distinction of all tags, the Adaptive Decision algorithm identify smaller one ,each Tag_ID bit's sum of bit '1'. In other words, Adaptive Decision algorithm had standard of selection by actively, the algorithm can reduce unnecessary number of search even than the exisiting algorithm. The Adaptive Decision algorithm had performance test that criterions were reader's number of repetition and number of transmitted bits for understanding tag. We showed the good performance of Adaptive Decision algorithm better than exisiting algorithm.

  • In IEEE 802.11e system providing differentiated services, there exist some problems as follows; collision probability increase due to the increase in the number of nodes by employing CSMA/CA transmission mode, transmission speed declining tendency towards the worst of it, which is caused by different transmission mode and decrease of TCP transmission rate as the result of the link occupancy by UDP when TCP shares the link with UDP by the TCP’s flow control characteristic. In this thesis, the initial minimum and maximum CW are set differently according to the number of connected nodes in the network to avoid collisions and TXOP is adjusted according to the channel state, in which ACs with low priority but better channel state will get gradually more chances to transmit leading to optimal channel capacity. Also, by allowing higher priority for ACK frames which control the TCP transmission, the flow control becomes better because that reduces the channel occupancy by UDP flow, and by this, fair transmission is obtained from the result of the more fair transmission and active resource allocation.

  • VANET(Vehicular Ad-hoc Network), standardization of IEEE 802.11p specification is in process. 802.11 MAC protocol grants all nodes equal opportunity to acquire channel without regard to their bit-rates, making it possible for lower bit-rate nodes to occupy communication channel for a fair amount of time thus keeping the higher bit-rate nodes from acquiring connection channel which downward-equalize the overall network performance. Also with the 802.11p MAC protocol, the probability of collision occurring increases as the number of nodes grow. The proposed algorithm is a new MAC protocol that guarantees nodes with acquired channel a firm priority over other nodes for a fixed amount of time with TXOP concept added to 'packet burst' according to the current transmitting speed. This newly designed algorithm allows the construction of wireless network with enhanced network throughput, decreased probability of collisions as well as providing the means to grant each node a fair chance of acquiring connection according to their channel conditions. The algorithm sets the CW's (Contention Window) width wider than the standard's and modulates the continuous transmitting threshold value depending on channel acquired time, thus improving the overall performance of the network.

  • When multiple Tags transmit their IDs to the Reader, tag identification time is delayed due to collisions. Therefore, to reduce the reader's identification time, an efficient anti-collision technology is needed. In this paper, a new anti-collision method is proposed. The method estimates the number of tags and allocates proper number of slots based on the DFSA. The performance of proposed method is compared with existing methods through extensive simulations.
