Secure Disjointed Multipath Routing Scheme for Multimedia Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 멀티미디어 데이터 전송을 위한 보안성 있는 비-중첩 다중 경로 라우팅 기법)

  • In recent years, the requirements on the high quality environment monitoring by using the sensor nodes which can handle the multimedia data in WSN have been increased. However, because the volume of multimedia data is tremendous, the limited bandwidth of a wireless channel may incur the bottleneck of a system. To solve such a problem, most of the existing distributed multi-path routing protocols based on multimedia data just focused on overcoming the limited bandwidth in order to enhance the energy efficiency and the transmission rate. However, because the existing methods can not apply a key-based technique to encrypt the multimedia data, they are very weak for the security. In this paper, we propose a secure disjointed multipath routing scheme for multimedia data transmission. Since our proposed scheme divides multimedia data(eg. image) into pixels and sends them through disjointed multipath routing, it can provide security to the whole network without using the key-based method. Our experimental results show that our proposed scheme reduces about 10% the amount of the energy consumption and about 65% the amount of the missed data packets caused by malicious nodes over the existing methods on average.

A Routing Mechanism to Prolong the Lifetime of Error-Prone Wireless Sensor Networks (에러율이 높은 무선 센서 네트워크의 수명을 연장시키기 위한 라우팅 기법)

  • This paper presents a routing mechanism to prolong the lifetime of error-prone wireless sensor networks. The proposed mechanism estimates the amount of energy consumption for communications and the expected residual energy in advance, which is based on the qualities of wireless links. Then, the proposed mechanism selects a path that is expected to have the most residual energy, and sends sensory data along the path. This mechanism reduces energy consumption caused by unnecessary retransmissions and distributes traffic evenly over the network owing to taking error rates into consideration, and extends energy depletion by selecting a path with the maximum of the minimal expected residual energy amounts. The experiment results show that the proposed mechanism prolongs network lifetime, compared to the existing methods.

  • The development of SNS and video platforms provided an opportunity to explode the activation of content production and consumption. However, in the legacy system, due to the host-based location-oriented data transmission, there are inherent limitations in efficient operation and management. As an alternative to this, a Contents Centric Network (CCN) was studied. In this paper, when intermediate nodes located between the information provider and the information requester between the real-time streaming services in the CCN environment move or restrict their use, failure through monitoring of wireless reception strength to solve problems like disconnection of transmission quality at the information consumer. We propose a stable intermediate node management mechanism through active response before occurrence.

Performance Analysis of QoS control scheme for PoC services with multiple sessions under the radio channel environment (무선채널을 포함한 다중세션 품질제어에 의한 PoC서비스의 QoS보장 절차의 제안 및 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we have proposed the QoS (quality of services) control scheme which can adjust data transfer rates of the session participants in response to their radio channel conditions under the time-varying propagation radio environment. The outage probability is selected as the performance index in order to compare the performance of the proposed scheme with the conventional QoS control scheme. The outage probability of the single and multiple paths is mathematically derived here and its numerical results are investigated. The results show that the significant performance improvement can be obtained compared with the conventional scheme and also the diversity gain can improve the radio link outage as the degrees of the multipath diversity increases. Therefore the overall performance improvement in terms of the QoS of the outage probability can be significantly be achieved by applying the proposed scheme.

  • 인터넷 화상전화는 저렴한 가격으로 통신이 가능하게 하는 기술로 최근에 주목을 받고 있다. 인터넷은 제한적인 대역폭과 가변적인 손실을 나타내므로, 인터넷을 통해 전송되는 화상은 오류 전파에 의해 품질이 크게 떨어지게 된다. 일반적으로 화상은 움직임 예측, 보상기법을 이용하여 압축되기 때문에 한 프레임에서 발생한 오류가 그 프레임을 참조하는 프레임으로 전파되는 데 이를 오류 전파라고 한다. 기존의 오류 전파를 방지하는 기법에는 Error Tracking, NEWPRED, PFEC등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 화상 전화에서 화상의 움직임이 적은 특성을 고려하여 Motion Vector의 중복전송을 이용한 PRMS기법을 제안한다. PFEC에 비해 부호화 효율을 높이면서 MB단위로 참조 프레임을 선택하여 오류 전파를 효과적으로 방지하는 기법이다. 실험을 통하여 PRMS기법이 기존치 PFEC나 NEWPRED에 비해 성능이 우수함을 보인다.

  • Self-organizing hierarchical ad hoc network (SOHAN) is a new ad-hoc network architecture designed to improve the scalability properties of conventional 'flat' ad hoc networks. This network architecture consists of three tiers of ad-hoc nodes, i.e.. access points, forwarding nodes and mobile nodes. This paper presents a topology discovery and routing protocol for the self-organization of SOHAN. We propose a cross-layer path metric based on link quality and MAC delay which plays a key role in producing an optimal cluster-based hierarchical topology with high throughput capacity. The topology discovery protocol provides the basis for routing which takes place in layer 2.5 using MAC addresses. The routing protocol is based on AODV with appropriate modifications to take advantage of the hierarchical topology and interact with the discovery protocol. Simulation results are presented which show the improved performance as well as scalability properties of SOHAN in terms of through-put capacity, end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio and control overhead.

  • The advancement of cloud and big data and the considerable growth of traffic have increased the complexity and problems in the management inefficiency of existing networks. The software-defined networking (SDN) environment has been developed to solve this problem. SDN enables us to control network equipment through programming by separating the transmission and control functions of the equipment. Accordingly, several studies have been conducted to improve the performance of SDN controllers, such as the method of connecting existing legacy equipment with SDN, the packet management method for efficient data communication, and the method of distributing controller load in a centralized architecture. However, there is insufficient research on the control of SDN in terms of the quality of network-using applications. To support the establishment and change of the routing paths that meet the required network service quality, we require a mechanism to identify network requirements based on a contract for application network service quality and to collect information about the current network status and identify the violations of network service quality. This study proposes a method of identifying the quality violations of network paths through ontology to ensure the network service quality of applications and provide efficient services in an SDN environment.

An Ad-Hoc Network Routing Scheme based on Mechanism Design Approach (메커니즘 디자인 접근방식에 기반을 둔 애드혹 네트워크 라우팅 기법)

  • In this paper, a new routing protocol is proposed to manage selfish nodes which make a strategic choice to maximize only their own profits. To provide incentives to nodes on the path, VCG mechanism is introduced. Therefore, based on the collaborative actions among nodes, the entire network performance can be improved. With a simulation study, the proposed scheme can approximate an optimized solution while ensuring a well-balanced network performance under widely diverse network environments.

  • 1990년 중반 경에 주문형 비디오 서비스와 같은 고품질 실시간 대화형 멀티미디어 서비스가 많은 기대에도 불구하고 서비스 실용화에는 실패했었다. 실패의 주 요인으로는 충분한 대역폭 및 품질 보장 서비스를 지원하는 기반 네트워크의 부재 때문으로 현재 56Kbps 모뎀 혹은 64Kbps ISDN 통신망이 주요 통신 기반이다. 한편, 컴퓨터 저장 장치 기술의 눈부신 발전으로 인해 저장장치 가격이 기하급수적으로 내리고 있다. 이러한 사실과 디지털 형태로 정적.동적 멀티미디어 정보를 댁내 저장장치로의 비실시간 전송 기술은 저속통신망에서의 새로운 개념의 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스 응용을 가능하게 한다. 서비스 예로는 오락 및 교육 컨텐츠 전달, 내장 참조링크, 그리고 시청 중 방송 프로그램 캡쳐 응용들이 있다. 이는 사용자와의 상호대화 없이 임의의 시간(예, 통신망 사용율이 낮은 시간대)에 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 전달하고 자유로운 시간대에 서비스 사용을 가능하게 하며, 또한 멀티캐스트 기능을 활용함으로써 서버 및 통신망의 부담을 격감시키는 효과를 가진다. 이 논문에서는, 댁내 저장장치를 활용한 저속통신망에서의 Anytime 멀티미디어 서비스의 구조를 제안하였다.

  • VoIP 기술의 확산과 그에 따른 IP기반의 망을 포함한 Packet, Multimedia서비스를 제공하는 서비스가 늘고 있다. 실시간 서비스를 필요로 하는 음성 트래픽 같은 경우에는 그에 따른 경로에 확실한 QoS의 보장 조건이 요구되며 사용자가 지불한 대금에 따라 서비스에 차별성을 두는 차등 서비스에 대하 연구가 활발해지고 사용자들에게 신뢰성 있는 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 기술이 필요하게 되었다. IP 네트웍에서의 음성전송은 현재의 전화통신요금보다. 절반 이상 저렴하고 여러 가지 부가 서비스를 창출할 수 있다. 하지만 Best-effort Service만을 지원하는 기존의 망에서는 실시간 서비스의 품질을 보장할 수가 없기에 실시간 서비스에 대한 품질보장이 반드시 필요하다.
