In this paper, we propose a cooperative vehicle communication scheme for high transmission efficiency and coverage extension under multipath fading environment of moving vehicle networks. The proposed scheme uses a Network coding scheme for improvement of receiving performance by using virtual Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) transmit diversity. Simulation results have shown that the proposed scheme also provides alleviated Inter Symbol Interference(ISI) and Inter Channel Interference(ICI) as well as Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR) improvement and improve 3dB compared to the conventional scheme, since it can utilize the good properties of spatial diversity and coding gain by using virtual MIMO configuration. In this paper, we propose simulations of Ultra-Wideband(UWB) communication system to show validity by using the MATLAB.

In this paper, the performance improvement of ultra-wideband(UWB) communications system to achieve high-data-rate using spatial diversity provided by multiple receive antennas is investigated. We derive the expression for the received SINR after spatially combining through multiple receive antennas and evaluate the bit error rate(BER) performance by numerical simulation. We also compare the performance results in the case of 2PPM systems with the theoretical performance results in the case of 2PAM THMA UWB systems. The impacts of spatial diversity on the performance of 2PPM and 2PAM THMA UWB systems are analyzed. It is shown that the BER performance is improved as the number of receive antennas increases. Also, it is observed that in the presence of multiple user interference signals, the performance of 2PAM THMA UWB systems is considerably superior to that of 2PPM THMA UWB systems.

This paper concentrates on developing and analyzing an advanced space-time multiuser receiver for WCDMA forward link. Through exploring the interference caused by co-channel users and delayed multipaths in CDMA, a constrained linear adaptive filter is adopted to cancel the interference. Furthermore, by utilizing the space-time diversity, an optimum diversity receiver, called a constrained adaptive space-time interference canceller (C-ASTIC), is proposed. For comparison, the statistical analysis of multiuser performance for WCDMA system with space-time diversity is described. The result of the simulation showed that C-ASTIC performs better than both the space-time diversity combining maximal ratio combiner (MRC) and the single-antenna adaptive interference canceller in a multipath fading channel. Also, the efficiency of the C-ASTIC in the multimedia communication environment is investigated under the multiuser, multi-transmit antenna, and multirate WCDMA system in a multipath fading channel. From the results, the C-ASTIC was validated to be useful for multi-rate WCDMA system through improving the performance gain by more than 3 dB at BER of 10$\^$-3/ in a half or more loaded system.

Transmit beamforming is simple method to achieve the full diversity gain that is available in multiple antenna(MIMO) wireless systems. Unfortunately, the prior condition to achieve this gain requires perfect channel knowledge at both transmitter and receiver, which is impractical on account of limited feedback link. Therefore, for the practical system, codebook based feedback scheme is often employed, where the beamforming vector is selected from the codebook to maximize the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at receiver, and the receiver only sends back the index of the best beamforming vector to the transmitter. In this paper we derive analytical expression of average bit error rate (BER) for the codebook based transmit beamforming MISO system over the feedback error channel. Using this analytical result, we present optimum codebook indexing scheme to improve the performance of this system. From some selected numerical examples we show that our proposed codebook indexing scheme can provide nonnegligible performance improvements in terms of average BER over the severe feedback error channel.

In this paper, we propose a new cooperative signaling structure based on CDMA to overcome both 2/3 spectrum efficiency and low diversity gain of conventional cooperative signaling through continuous overlapping of signal that each user wants to transmit. Proposed signal structure can achieve the spectrum efficiency nearly "1" by receiving additional data for next time as well as maximum diversity gain to detect data continuously at both base station and each user. The orthogonality of CDMA's spreading codes can improve performance of optimal detector by reducing inter-user channel environment and distinguishing each user. We perform the computer simulation to verify the proposed system through comparing cooperative mode and non-cooperative mode under Rayleigh fading channel plus AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise).

In this paper, an energy harvesting scheme is investigated in the multi-relay cooperation communication. Our proposal is to maximize the diversity gain and overcome the disadvantages of the limited power wireless devices. The best relay is selected based on the maximizing channel gains from source to relays so that the harvested energy at selected relay is best. If an internal power of the best relay is lower than a defined target power, the best relay will harvest the energy from the source, and the help of the source-destination link is changed to the second best relay. By this operation method, the diversity gain is maintained and the performance of the network is improved. Finally, performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed in terms of bit error rate, utilization efficiency, power collection efficiency.

In this paper, we consider the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based transmission incoorperating with beam-switching and space-time coding. Specifically, we consider three configurations; (1) the beamforming technique, (2) the spatial diversity technique and (3) their combination and evaluate the performance in wireless personal area network (WPAN) environment. For the beam-forming technique, we consider the beam-switching which is performed at RF front-end with a pre-defined set of beams and for the space-time coding, we consider the Alamauti scheme with antenna selection. For the combined scheme, we divide the antennas used into two group to generate two independent beams and apply the two-antenna Alamauti scheme over the two beams. For these three configurations, performance is evaluated in terms of the SNR gain.

In this paper, we propose a novel Alamouti space-time transmission scheme for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based asynchronous cooperative communication systems with low relay complexity. The conventional scheme requires an additional operation likes time-reversal at the relay nodes besides the simple multiplications at the relay nodes, which result in increasing the complexity of relay nodes. Unlike the conventional scheme, exploiting the simple combination of the symbols at the source node and the simple multiplications at the relay nodes, the proposed scheme achieves the second order diversity gain by obtaining the Alamouti code structure at the destination node. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves the second order diversity gain and has the same bit error rate performance as the conventional scheme.

This paper proposes a distributed space-frequency block code (SFBC) for relay-assisted single carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). The proposed technique achieves spatial diversity gain over fast fading channels without the complexity of multiple antennas. The mobile equipment of the proposed system has a very simple transmitter structure with constant amplitude transmit sequences, which is desirable especially for uplink communications. In order to obtain spatial diversity, the transmit sequence of relay is efficiently generated in the time domain, which is equivalent to the SFBC. Further, efficient implementation of relay and destination structures is also presented. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed system significantly outperforms the distributed space-time block code (D-STBC) SC-FDE over fast fading channels.
