  • Active Safety system is requested on the market of the medium and heavy duty commercial vehicle over 4.5ton beside the market of passenger car with advancement of the digital equipment proportionally. Unlike the passenger car, the mounting position of camera in case of the medium and heavy duty commercial vehicle is relatively high, it is disadvantaged conditions for lane recognition in contradiction to passenger car. In this work, we show the method of lane recognition through the Sobel edge, based on the spatial domain processing, Hough transform and color conversion correction. Also we suggest the low error method of front vehicles recognition in order to reduce the detection error through Haar-like, Adaboost, SVM and Template matching, etc., which are the object recognition methods by frontal camera vision. It is verified that the reliability over 98% on lane recognition is obtained through the vehicle test.

  • In this paper, a moving target tracking using a binocular vision for an omni-directional mobile robot is addressed. In the binocular vision, three dimensional information on the target is extracted by vision processes including calibration, image correspondence, and 3D reconstruction. The robot controller is constituted with SPI(serial peripheral interface) to communicate effectively between robot master controller and wheel controllers.

  • Purpose: To evaluate the short-term results of arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using fresh frozen Achilles allograft Materials & Methods: From March 2002 to March 2004, arthroscopic ACL reconstructions using fresh frozen Achilles allograft were performed in 25 knees of 25 patients. The average age at operation was 30.1 years (range, 18-50 years) and the average follow-up was 17 months (range, 12 to 27months). Preoperative and follow-up clinical results were evaluated using the Lysholm knee score, IKDC knee rating system, physical examination and KT-2000 arthrometer. Results: The Lachman test was positive in 25 patients preoperatively and 18 patients(72%) had negative results at latest follow-up. The average side-to-side differences of anterior tibial translation using KT-2000 arthrometer under loading of 301b were improved from $7.9{\pm}2.4mm\;to\;2.6{\pm}1.6mm$. The average Lysholm score was improved from $61.1{\pm}13.9\;to\;93.5{\pm}5.3$ points. The IKDC grade was abnormal(C) or severely abnormal(D) in 25 cases preoperatively They improved 22(88%) of normal(A) or nearly normal(B) and 3(12%) of abnormal. Conclusion: Short term results of ACL reconstruction using Achilles allograft was acceptable. Achilles allograft can be a reasonable graft alternative to autograft for ACL reconstruction.

  • Purpose : To evaluate the clinical and radiological characteristics of osteochondral ridges of talus and ankle. Materials and Methods : We have analyzed their clinical symptoms and signs, radiologic and CT findings and post-operative results in 17 ankle joints of 14 patients (bilateral in 3), followed them for average 13 months after surgical excision. Results : No definite trauma, but mostly in male after middle age. Their chief complaints are pain on ankle, especially in dorsiflexion or squatting position, and symptom durations are very long, more than average 15 months. Definite diagnosis was made by lateral radiograms of ankle joint. Osteochondral ridges are common in talar neck (10 cases), tibia (4 cases) and both side (3 cases). After excision of osteophytes, all patients gained normal ankle without pain and any limited motion. Conclusions : Anterior impingement syndromes are common in middle aged male, but no definite correlation with sports. Plantar and dorsiflexed lateral radiographs are helpful in definite diagnosis for impingement, and surgical excision is best for treatment.

  • The backward tracing scheme of the finite element analysis, which is counted to be unique and useful for process design in metal forming, has been developed and applied successfully in industry to several metal forming processes. Here the backward tracing scheme is implemented for process design of three-dimensional plastic deformation in metal forming, and it is applied to a precision coining process. The contact problem between the die and workpiece has been treated carefully during backward tracing simulation in three-dimensional deformation. The results confirm that the application of the developed program implemented with backward tracing scheme of the rigid plastic finite element leads to a reasonable initial piercing hole configuration. It is concluded that three-dimensional extension of the scheme appears to be successful for industrial applications.

  • In this paper, we describe the vulnerabilities against mobile agent and analyze existing schemes to cope with them. Also we propose a new scheme which protects the executed information by mobile agent and simultaneously traces the executions of mobile agent. The proposed scheme provides non-repudiation between participations for the executions of mobile agent, forward integrity against modification and protection against code insertion or deletion attack.

  • An omni-directional, graded-index and textured ZnO nanorods with $MgF_2$ anti-reflective(AR) coating films for the electro optical tracking system(EOTS) by e-beam evaporation method are presented. we achieved that the graded index structure can minimize image tracking interference of EOTS which is comparable to a general AR coating films. Optimized ZnO nanorods with $MgF_2$ AR coating films lead to decreasing Fresnel reflection by gradient refractive index. According to our experiment results, ZnO nanorods with $MgF_2$ AR coating films can be used for various electro optical system to improve the optical performance.

  • In this paper, a new filtering scheme for vehicle tracking with distorted measurement is presented. This filtering scheme is essential for the implementation of the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system. The proposed method combines the IMM and the probabilistic fuzzy model and is named as the Fuzzy IMM (FIMM). The IMM is employed to recognize the intention of the preceding vehicle. The probabilistic furry model is introduced to compensate the distortion of the range sensor. Finally, a computer simulation is performed to illustrate the validity of the suggested algorithms.

  • In this paper, we implement a viewer program that can monitor effectively using omni-directional images. The program consists of four modes: Normal mode, ROI(Region of Interest) mode, Tracking mode, and Auto-rotation mode, and the results for each mode is displayed simultaneously. In the normal mode, the wide angle image is rendered as a spherical image to enable pan, tilt, and zoom. In ROI mode, the area is displayed expanded by selecting an area. And, in Auto-rotation mode, it is possible to track the object by mapping the position of the object with the rotation angle of the spherical image to prevent the object from deviating from the spherical image in Tracking mode. Parallel programming for processing of multiple modes is performed to improve the processing speed. This has the advantage that various angles can be seen compared with surveillance system having a limited angle of view.
