광양제칠소 내에서 슬라브, 코일 등의 운송작업을 전문으로 하는 성암산업(주)은 중소기업을 의심케 할 정도로 체계적인 안전보건활동을 펼치고 있는 곳이다. 안전보건 전담 인원을 3명이나 배치한 것은 물론 안전을 기업경영의 핵심요소로 인식하고 다양한 안전보건활동을 펼쳐나가고 있는 것이다. 이 같은 안전경영의 중심에는 한승훈 대표 이사가 있다. 한 대표이사는 성암산업(주)에 취임한 후 바로 현장 속으로 들어가 근로자와 함께 현장밀착형 안전관리를 전개해나갔다. 그 결과 국내 내로라하는 기업들이 최고의 안전사업장이라는 명예를 걸고 치열한 경합을 벌였던 '2013년도 안전경영대상'에서 종합대상을 차지하는 영예를 얻었다. 안전경영으로 무재해 현장을 조성하고 있는 한승훈 대표이사를 만나봤다.

에너지경영시스템(Energy Management System)이란 최고경영자가 경영방침에 에너지관리 목표를 포함시켜 전사적인 에너지 관리를 추진하는 톱다운(Top-Down) 방식의 에너지관리시스템이다. 에너지 절감을 위해 에너지관리공단에서 도입 및 계획하고 있는 EMS에 대해 알아본다.

This study aimed to examine earnings quality of firms selected as Global Champs project which has been promoted by the government since 2013 to support small and medium sized enterprises, for the screening year(t-1) and selected year(t). Earing quality is measured as the value of discretionary accruals estimated by Dechow et al.(1995) adjusted Jones model and Kothari et al.(2005) model, respectively. I analyze the differences of earning quality between the Global Champ firms and the paired firms selected through criteria of the similar total assets and the same industry in the screening year and the selected year. This study is motivated by the needs of measurement of the performance of the Project from the accounting transparent point of view. As the results of this study, major findings are summarized as follows. Firstly the earnings quality of the selected firms was lower than that of the paired firms. This can be explained as a result of motivation of earnings management by companies eager to meet the requirements to be selected for the Project. Secondly, in the selected year, the earnings quality was proved to improve, comparing to the screening year. This can be explained by the efforts of companies to reinforce management innovation and transparent management, which in turn led to positive effects on the earnings quality. These findings were found to be consistent in the additional analyses, where the earning quality of the reconstructed sample with only selected companies was compared for the screening year and the selected year, based on the year before the screening year(t-2).

To study the business performance, this research reviewed the revenue of 2012 for shipping and logistics companies in Korea, then selected 10 shipping companies and 10 logistics companies according to annual sales amount. These 20 companies are divided into four groups considering their business structure and their financial performance are organized from 2005 to 2012. Then CCR, BCC model has been applied to static efficiency and dynamic changes in productivity for analysis. As an overall result, logistics companies are proven to be better than shipping company in efficiency, change of productivity, growth and profitability. Among the logistics companies, the performance of second party logistics companies are relatively better in those factor above than the third party logistics companies.

에스코프로는 그동안 서울 대치동에 위치한 포스코센터 건물의 에너지절감사업 이외에 광양제철소, 창원특수강, 포스코의 중국현지법인인 대련포금강판, 한국수자원공사의 전북칠보취수장 등지에서 ESCO사업을 수행했다. 포스코는 에스코벤처팀의 지난 2년간의 경영실적을 평가, 올 1월 성공가능성이 크다고 판단하고 분사를 결정하게 되었다.

This study is to suggest specialty contractors with countermeasures to construction orders falling off, one of the construction business indicators for the construction industry, by analyzing the impact of dwindling construction orders to business performance indicators of specialty contractors as well as identifying inter-relationships between those performance indicators. For specialty contractors of civil construction, it is analyzed that their current ratio is significantly affecting obtention of construction orders, which in turn greatly affecting the ratio of owner's equity. It seems that the amount of construction orders has a direct relationship with the corporate stability. Therefore, this type of specialty contractors are determined to be able to obtain more orders for construction by improving current ratio.
