The Strategic Thinking of Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students in LOGO Project Learning (LOGO를 이용한 프로젝트 학습에서 나타난 초등 수학영재 학생들의 전략적 사고)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a new direction in using LOGO as a gifted education program and to seek an effective approach for LOGO teaching and learning, by analyzing the strategic thinking of mathematically gifted elementary students. This research is exploratory and inquisitive qualitative inquiry, involving observations and analyses of the LOGO Project learning process. Four elementary students were selected and over 12 periods utilizing LOGO programming, data were collected, including screen captures from real learning situations, audio recordings, observation data from lessons involving experiments, and interviews with students. The findings from this research are as follows: First, in LOGO Project Learning, the mathematically gifted elementary students were found to utilize such strategic ways of thinking as inferential thinking in use of prior knowledge and thinking procedures, generalization in use of variables, integrated thinking in use of the integration of various commands, critical thinking involving evaluation of prior commands for problem-solving, progressive thinking involving understanding, and applying the current situation with new viewpoints, and flexible thinking involving the devising of various problem solving skills. Second, the students' debugging in LOGO programming included comparing and constrasting grammatical information of commands, graphic and procedures according to programming types and students' abilities, analytical thinking by breaking down procedures, geometry-analysis reasoning involving analyzing diagrams with errors, visualizing diagrams drawn following procedures, and the empirical reasoning on the relationships between the whole and specifics. In conclusion, the LOGO Project Learning was found to be a program for gifted students set apart from other programs, and an effective way to promote gifted students' higher-level thinking abilities.

Mobile Baduk-Game on the Cube (6면체 표면에서의 모바일 바둑게임)

  • 본 연구에서는 바둑을 응용하여, 모바일에서 가능한 6면체 게임으로 구현 하였다. 기존의 바둑과 같은 룰과 비슷한 내용의 게임으로서 모바일 버튼의 단순 조작만으로 가능한 게임이다. 게임에 사용되는 6면체 바둑판과 바둑돌들은 PHOSHOP을 이용하여 3차원 모양의 객체로 생성하였다. 프로그래밍은 SKT GENX기반으로 구현하였다. 기존의 바둑판은 가로 세로 교차된19줄이 평면에 그려져 있으나, 6면체 바둑판은 한 평면에 가로 세로 5줄이 주사위 모양의 6표면에 연결되어있다. 대국 시의 모바일 화면 인터페이스는 바둑판의 6면 중 3면을 동시에 보이는 입체도와 6면을 펼친 전개도가 있다. 입체도는 모바일 버튼 조작에 의해 6면을 상하좌우 회전이 가능하도록 하였다. 입체도와 전개도는 동시에 보는 것을 기본으로 하나 사용자 선택에 의해 두 그림의 크기 위치 등이 다양하게 가능하도록 제공하고 있다. 바둑돌의 착점방식은 모바일 버튼 조작에 의해 커서의 이동으로 가능하다. 게임은 네트워크를 이용한 사람과 사람이 가능하도록 약식으로 구현하였다. 게임의 내용은 6면의 입체적 상황을 고려하면서 작전을 세워야 하므로 기존의 평면바둑에 비해 좀더 고난도의 사고와 전략을 요구하는 게임이다. 그리고 6면체 바둑게임은 모바일 스크린환경에서 기존의19줄 평면바둑이 문제시 될 수 있는 가독성과, 한 게임에 사용되는 시간에 대해서 유리한 요인으로 실용화의 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This paper surveys structures, features and programming techniques of CNG that is substitution of CAPI in Microsoft, and implements hash provider for support HAS-160 that is one of the Korean hash algorithm. After that, we analysis agility from different perspective based on implemented results, and propose customizing stratagem. Analyzed results of basic concepts and implemented HAS-160 hash provider are expected applying measure for Korean cryptography algorithm in Vista environment. Consequently, we will research secure distribution way due to it is not apply on CNG.

The empirical study on combining mathematics and statistics into S/W and H/W curriculum (소프트웨어와 하드웨어 교육과정에서 수학/통계를 연계한 실증연구)

  • This paper shows that mathematics and statistics are not only a necessity but a strategic element in contributing for the competitiveness of field of S/W and H/W. First, a survey was conducted to investigate the perceived importance of mathematics and statistics to the specialists of the field. Second, computer programming was implemented in university mathematics courses to understand the educational effect related to problem solving ability. Third, a educational case in which mathematics and statistics in S/W and H/W subject were combined was analyzed. Lastly, an effective plan for mathematics and statistics education in the field of S/W and H/W will be presented.

Design-Based Learning for Computational Thinking (Computational Thinking 향상을 위한 디자인기반 학습)

  • In this paper, we studied a design-based learning for Computational Thinking in Computational Literacy. The design-based learning for computational thinking in computational literacy education started from a MIT media laboratory in 2011. We revised the design-based learning and applied it to educational field. We considered educational strategies and derived the implications, after teaching fourth grade gifted students. Moreover we conducted and analyzed a questionnaire survey, observations and interviews. As the result, the design-based learning in computational literacy is effective for creative computational thinking that students create their ideas and make a meaningful artifacts from it. We expect that this study provides the basic data to apply a design-based learning for computational thinking to Computer education.

  • 비즈니스 인텔리전스는 정보를 저장하고 분석하여 부가가치를 창출해 내는 기술로써 무한경쟁시대에서 기업이 경영환경 추세를 파악하고 경영전략을 세우는데 필수적인 도구이다. 비즈니스 인텔리전스 핵심기술로는 정보를 분석하기 쉬운 형태로 저장하는 데이터웨어하우징 기술과, 정보를 다차원적으로 분석하는 OLAP 기술, 그리고 데이터에 숨겨진 패턴과 관계를 찾아내는 데이터마이닝 기술이 포함되며, 이들 각각을 위한 소프트웨어 제품들은 개발되어 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 기업이 요구하는 분석결과를 적시에 제공하기 위해서는 이들을 통합한 개발 프레임워크가 필요하며, 본 연구팀은 그러한 프레임워크 개발 프로젝트(Chamois Project)에 참여하고 있다. 이 프레임워크에는 유사한 기능을 제공하는 여러 종류의 소프트웨어 제품들이 포함되어 있어서, 공통의 응용 프로그래밍 인터페이스(API)를 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 특히 다양한 OLAP 제품들을 수월하게 사용할 수 있도록 공통 OLAP API를 개발하였고, 이를 소개하고자 한다. 이와 같이 통합 환경에서 다양한 OLAP 제품들을 지원할 수 있다는 것은 OLAP 제품들의 선택의 폭을 넓히고 응용 프로그램의 코드를 수정하지 않아도 보다 나은 기능을 갖는 OLAP 제품으로의 업그레이드가 쉽게 이루어진다는 장점을 갖는다.

  • In order to come up with satisfying product and improvement, firms use traditional marketing research methods to obtain consumers' opinions and further try to reflect them. Recently, gathering data from consumer communication platforms like internet and SNS has become popular methods. Meanwhile, with the development of information technology, mobile companies are launching new digital products for children to protect them from harmful content and provide them with necessary functions and information. Among these digital products, Kids Phone, which is a wearable device with safe functions that enable parents to learn childern's location. Kids phone is relatively cheaper and simpler than smartphone but it is noted that there are several problems such as some useless functions and frequent breakdowns. This study analyzes the reviews of Kids phones from domestic mobile companies, identifies the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the products, proposes improvement methods strategies for devices and services through SNS consumer analysis. In order to do that customer review data from online shopping malls was gathered and was further analyzed through text mining methods such as TF/IDF, Sentiment Analysis, and network analysis. Customer review data was gathered through crawling Online shopping Mall and Naver Blog/$Caf\acute{e}$. Data analysis and visualization was done using 'R', 'Textom', and 'Python'. Such analysis allowed us to figure out main issues and recent trends regarding kids phones and to suggest possible service improvement strategies based on sentiment analysis.

Analysis of Multiple Intelligences and Academic Adjustment Level for Undergraduate Students of IT Major -Focused on C Programming- (IT 학부생의 다중지능과 학문적 적응도 분석 -C 프로그래밍을 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of multiple intelligence and the levels of academic adjustment for the department and the major among undergraduate students majoring in IT. Seventy freshmen majoring in IT at the department of M, H University participated in this study and the basic major subject required for the department was Computer Language: I-C Language. Eight intelligence areas less controversial in Gardner's multiple intelligence theory were used; academic adjustment was manipulatively defined as the degree of adjustment for the department and the major among undergraduate students; and pleasure, flow, familiarity and relevance to the major, academic achievement, and major satisfaction were selected as variables through literature review. The undergraduate students majoring in IT showed high levels of interpersonal intelligence and intrapersonal intelligence, with insignificant gender differences. Significant correlations were found between multiple intelligence and academic adjustment. In particular, while pleasure and flow in C programming were found to be at low levels in academic adjustment, the significant correlation between linguistic intelligence in multiple intelligence and flow in C language was a very interesting finding. While significant correlation was not found between multiple intelligence and academic achievement, students who were more highly aware of the relevance to the major and who were more familiar with C language showed higher academic achievement. Lastly, limitations of this study were discussed; on the basis of the results, suggestions were made about prescriptive strategies to improve academic achievement for undergraduate students majoring in IT.

A Educational Program for Elementary Information Gifted Student using Unplugged Computing and EPL (언플러그드 컴퓨팅과 EPL을 이용한 초등정보영재교육프로그램의 개발)

  • This study proposed a new education program for the information science gifted talent using unplugged computing and EPL that are new teaching approach of computer science. We analyzed unplugged computing contents and developed the advanced educational program for the information science gifted talent. We also made up a curriculum and teaching strategy and applied the elementary information science gifted talents the developed program with unplugged computing. In order to verify an effectiveness of new program, we tested t-test and found the positive results between before and after the program as well as an experimental group and the comparison group. In interview and observation about the gifted talents, we also saw that the students evaluated an unplugged computing lesson to the positive responses. We expect the proposed unplugged computing program will give many help for teaching the information science gifted talent.

Interconnection Problem among the Dense Areas of Nodes in Sensor Networks (센서네트워크 상의 노드 밀집지역 간 상호연결을 위한 문제)

  • This paper deals with the interconnection problem in ad-hoc networks or sensor networks, where relay nodes are deployed additionally to form connections between given nodes. This problem can be reduced to a NP-hard problem. The nodes of the networks, by applications or geographic factors, can be deployed densely in some areas while sparsely in others. For such a case one can make an approximation scheme, which gives shorter execution time, for the additional node deployments by ignoring the interconnections inside the dense area of nodes. However, the case is still a NP-hard, so it is proper to establish a polynomial time approximation scheme (PTAS) by implementing a dynamic programming. The analysis can be made possible by an elaboration on making the definition of the objective function. The objective function should be defined to be able to deal with the requirement incurred by the substitution of the dense area with its abstraction.
