  • This study was conducted to identify the influence of nursing image and nursing as a major, on the professionalism of male nursing students. Totally, 180 male nursing students having experience in clinical practice from B and U cities, were enrolled as subjects. Data were collected from 15th November to 15th December, 2016. Analysis by t-test, ANOVA & Scheff's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression revealed a mean score of nursing image at 3.95, major satisfaction score of 3.90, and nursing professionalism score of 3.79. The degree of professional awareness amongst the participants was statistically and significantly different, depending on their year of study and the person who had recommended nursing as a career option. Nursing professionalism was highly correlated with the nursing image, and moderately correlated with satisfaction of nursing as a major subject. Results also indicated that 60.6% results indicating nursing professionalism were most significantly influenced by two factors: the image of the nurse, followed by satisfaction of nursing as major. We conclude that to improve the nursing professionalism of male students requires education and strategy to improve their nursing image, and career education and guidance that focuses towards greater satisfaction for their selected major subject.

  • Many economic development practitioners view cluster theory and analysis as constituting a general approach to strategy making in economic development, which may lead them to prioritize policy and planning interventions that cannot address the actual development challenges in their cities and regions. This paper discusses the distinction between strategy formation and strategic planning, where the latter is the programming of development strategies that are identified through a blend of experience, intuition, and analysis. Cluster theories and analytical tools can provide useful informational inputs into a strategy making effort and they can also be helpful for programming specific interventions (i.e., strategic planning). However, they should not be used as the exclusive or even predominant framework for filtering information about the competitive advantages of a region or for formulating strategy. To do so forces strategy making into a conceptual box defined by only one highly stylized theory of regional growth and development.

  • In general, stock prices do not follow normal distributions and mean trend indexes, volatility indexes, and volume indicators relating to these non-normal stock price are widely used as buy-sell strategies. These general buy-sell strategies are rather intuitive than statistical reasoning. The non-normality problem can be solved by normalizing process and statistical buy-sell strategy can be obtained by using mean trend and volatility indexes together with normalized stock prices. In this paper, buy-sell strategy based on mean trend and volatility index with normalized stock prices are proposed and applied to KOSPI200 data to see the feasibility of the proposed buy-sell strategy.

• A posteriori physicalists criticize non-physicalist arguments based on the framework of two-dimensional semantics. Most of them argue for physicalism based on the analogy between scientific identity statements and psychophysical identity statements. This paper argues for another version of aposteriori physicalism, so called physicalism employing 'phenomenal concept strategy' or 'exceptionalist strategy', which appeals to merely the nature of phenomenal concept without recourse to a semantic framework. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy employs the aspect of our recognitional ability of objects in criticizing non-physicalism, leading to the argument that phenomenal concepts are 'exceptional' in applying conceivability-possibility link. I critically examine Stoljar's, Chalmers', Raffman's criticisms against Loar's exceptionalists strategy. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy reflects well our psychological aspects surrounding the acquisition and the possession of 'phenomenal concept'. In several respects, Loar's exceptionalist version of a posteriori physicalism is the best explanation for accounting for both the explanatory gap and the a posteriority of psychophysical identity.

  • Products can maintain a high level of market share for many years by succeeding early in the development of a market. To overcome the benefit of pioneering a market, late entrants to the market can use differentiation strategies: developing novel attributes or enhancing preexisted attributes. In general, preexisted attributes are more memorable, but novel attributes can be weighted as heavily as preexisted attributes by contextual constraints. Based on the research of appraisal-congruent judgement, certainty appraisal dimension may affect the degree to which people engage in systematic or heuristic processing. This study examines the effects of alignability (the ease with which the attributes of one object can be aligned or mapped onto another object) of product attributes and certainty on consumer preferences for late entrants. Participants were induced to experience certainty and then completed a questionnaire. As predicted, participants induced certainty were likely to engage in heuristic processing, while participants induced uncertainty were likely to engage in systematic processing. This study provides an implication that companies should additionally consider consumers' feeling of certainty when launching a new brand.

  • This study was attempted to investigate the effect of the first clinical practice on the image of nurse and nursing professionalism of nursing students in the COVID-19 situation. The data were collected from 36 nursing college students using a structured questionnaire from June to July 2020 and analyzed by PASW 22.0. After the first clinical practice in the COVID-19 pandemic, the nurse image (t=-2.219, p=.034) and nursing professionalism(t=-3.444, p=.002) increased significantly compared to before practice. Social image (t=-3.113, p=.004), self-concept of the profession(t=-2.442, p=.021), social awareness(t=-3.829, p=.001) and professionalism of nursing(t=-2.299, p=.028) significantly increased after the first clinical practice. After the first clinical practice, nursing professionalism showed a significant positive correlation with image of nurse(r=.831, p<.001). The attitude of nurses to cope with COVID-19 positively influenced nursing students' nurse image and nursing professionalism. Therefore, it is expected that will be used as basic data for preparing educational strategies after COVID-19.
