The Recent Trends of Open Access Movements and the Ways to Help the Cause by Academic Stakeholders (오픈 액세스 운동의 동향과 학술적 이해관계자의 대응전략)

  • Open access movement supports the principle that the published output of scientific research should be available to everyone without charge. The term open access is used in the broad context of the wider movement. To achieve the objectives of open access to scholarly journal literature, BOAI(Budapest Open Access Initiative) recommends using two complementary strategies: 'self-archiving' in institutional/disciplinary repositories and 'open access journals.' This study introduces the strategies of open access movements and analyzes the ways to help the cause of open access by academic stakeholders(i.e., researchers, librarians, universities, publishers, foundations, learned societies, and government) from the perspective of two BOAI strategies.

  • Scenarios are an effective tool for supporting a company to be successful in its increasingly complex, changing business environment. They are especialy effective in dealing with uncertainties. This paper show how business managers or supervisors can develop scenario-based business strategies. This is explained by the case study of MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) in Korean mobile service market. In addition, we discuss on theoretical background of scenario- based management and describe the integration of scenarios into process of strategic management. This includes specific methodological approaches to identify the key factors and logics for scenario building, to develop new strategies.

  • 대부분 선진국 수산업은 국가경제에 차지하는 비중은 미미하나 해양생태 보전이나 해양식량안정 등의 중요성을 고려하여 국가개발 전략적 관점에서 큰 관심을 둔다. 그리고 인구나 식량소비 규모에 비해 수산자원이 풍부한 저개발국의 수산업은 국가경제 발전의 주요한 산업적 역할을 수행한다. 최근 한국을 포함한 일부 선진국에서는 창조경제적 수산업을 통하여 새로운 성장동력을 개발하여 수산업의 산업적 역할을 보다 산업화하는 전략적 발전을 지속적으로 추진하고 있다. 수산업의 창조경제적 발전은 주로 수산자원의 합리적 보존관리, 어업인의 소득증대와 어촌사회 복지향상뿐만 아니라 새로운 수산물 시장수요 창출 등에 주안점을 두고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수산창조지수(ICSF; Index of Creativity Space for Fisheries)를 분석하여 수산업의 지속적 개발 내지 회복에 있어 창조경제적 요인의 역할과 중요성을 평가하였다. 수산업의 창조성을 결정하는 수산창조지수(ICSF)는 기술(technology), 재능(talent), 다양성(tolerance)의 결합적 결과로 구성된다. 이를 통하여 창조경제적 측면에서 수산업의 지속적 발전 가능 잠재력을 평가하게 된다. 수산창조지수(ICSF)를 이용하여 한국 수산업이 지니는 창조성을 분석한 결과 대부분 수산분야에서 창조성을 기반으로 하는 지속적 수산업 발전 전략에 높은 관심을 보였다. 특히 한국 수산업은 보다 효과적인 자원 및 어업관리 정책의 이행을 통하여 창조경제적 편익의 증대를 모색하는 전략이 높이 평가되었다.

  • 국내 물시장은 100%에 가까운 상·하수도 서비스 수준을 달성한 지 오래다. 결과적으로 국내 물시장은 한계에 이르렀다는 평가와 함께 국내 물산업의 지속가능한 발전을 위해서는 포화된 국내 시장을 벗어나 해외 신시장을 발굴해야 한다는 견해가 보편적이다.. 이에 정부에서는 2006년 물산업 육성 전략을 수립한 이래 국내 물기업의 해외시장 진출을 위한 많은 정책과 전략을 제시하였다. 하지만 20여 년의 시간이 지난 오늘날 국내 물산업의 해외 시장 진출 성과에 대한 평가는 회의적이다. 이유는 해외 물시장 관련 국내 물기업의 레퍼런스 부족 및 영세성, 기술 부족 등 다양하다. 문헌이나 전문가 견해 등을 살펴보면 세계 물시장의 특성은 ① 첨단 기술기반의 글로벌화, ② 운영관리 시장의 확대, ③ 물기업의 토털 솔류션화(제조+건설+엔지니어링+운영관리), ④ 기후변화 대비 신규시장 형성 등으로 요약된다. 그러나 모든 시장이 이것으로 대변되지는 않는다. 즉 시장은 국가와 지역에 따라 차이가 크다. 따라서 차별성을 고려하지 시장의 진출은 실패로 종결될 수 밖에 없다. 이에 본 연구는 지역별·국가별 특성을 고려한 물시장 진출 전략의 필요성 관점에서 타겟시장으로 주목을 받고 있는 국가 우즈베키스탄의 시장성에 관하여 살펴본 후 대응 전략을 검토하고자 한다.

  • Ever since Parkland corporation went into domestic men's fashion market with his own brand 'Parkland' in 1988, the company accomplished enormous sales increase compared to competitors and attained steadfast positioning as a leading brand with competence. This case study deals with the parkland's systematic efforts mainly focused on integrated business innovation such as production, distribution, and management innovation, and shows Parkland's differentiated marketing strategy which leads to outstanding business performance. And, strategic implications to succeed in the long run are followed.

  • 최근 몇 년 사이 정부 내의 정보화 사업규모는 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있다. 국민의 정부시절 약 2,400억 규모의 정보화 예산이 참여정부에서는 약 9500억으로 증가한 사실이 이를 반증하는 증거이다. 그러나, 이러한 정보화 사업에 대한 투자규모에 비하여, 막대한 예산을 들여 진행되는 사업에 대한 지속적인 성과관리는 체계적으로 진행되지 않은 현실이다. 오히려 성과관리라는 것이 사업의 추진을 방해하는 부정적인 요소로 인식되기도 한다. 하지만, 정보화 사업에 대한 성과관리의 부재는 장기적으로 조직의 전략목표와 정보서비스와의 GAP을 심화시켰고, 결과적으로 막대학 IT 투자 전체에 대한 회의감만을 대두시키는 결과를 가져 왔다. 2006년 IT최대의 화두인 IT거버넌스 개념 역시 IT와 비즈니스의 GAP을 줄여 IT 서비스가 조직의 목표와 전략을 올바르게 지원하도록 IT운영을 하자는 것이 핵심사상이다. 이러한 IT거버넌스 실현의 중심에 IT 투자성과관리체계가 있다. 해양수산부는 IT투자성과관리체계구축을 통하여 정보화사업 전체 프로세스를 지원하며, 각 단계별 이력관리를 통해 매년 사업 담당자가 바뀌는 상황에서도 안정적인 사업의 추진이 가능하도록 하였으며, 각 사업에 대한 평가지표개발 및 평가체계 구축을 통해 사업계획, 시행, 종료 단계에서 과학적인 정보화 사업의 투자성과평가를 지원하는 체계를 마련하였다. 이러한 IT투자성과관리체계는 기 구축된 ITA, ITAMS, IT자산관리체계와 연동하여 해양수산부 IT거버넌스 실현에 이바지 할 것으로 기대된다.

Effects of the Characteristics of the Succession Process on Organizational Performance of Family Business Firms: Moderating Effects of Strategic Human Resource Management (가족기업의 승계프로세스 특성이 조직성과에 미치는 영향: 전략적 인적자원관리의 조절효과)

  • This study investigates the relationships between the characteristics of the succession process and organizational performance as well as the moderating roles of strategic HRM practices in these relationships. Data was collected from 256 successors and HR managers(128 for each) in South Korean family businesses where the succession process either had been completed or was currently underway around time of data collected and analyzed. Our results indicate that the provision of successor training is positively related to organizational performance, while the clarity of the incumbent's role after succession, communication of the decision regarding succession, and the incumbent's propensity to step aside are not significantly related to organizational performance. Further, our results confirm (a) the moderating effects of strategic staffing practices between communication of the decision regarding succession and organizational performance, and (b) the moderating effects of strategic staffing practices between the incumbent's propensity to step aside and organizational performance. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.

  • Today's companies build strong brand assets which, through the expansion of other business areas, promote efficient corporate management. Many companies manage brand assets among through a multitude of brand groups using brand portfolios rather than the single brand strategy. Such brand group influence can be related not only to brand group expansion, but also to parent company brands and product brand groups. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of parent corporate brand associations on brand portfolio evaluation. The results of the present study is as follows: positive parent corporate brand image was revealed to play a positive role in brand portfolio evaluation. Parent corporate brand image provided endorsement for their product brands, and this can reduce consumer's decision cost on brand portfolio evaluations. This study focused on two types of brand relationship strategy : brand expansion strategy and individual brand strategy. With individual brand strategy, cases where parent company brands provided endorsement and cases to the contrary were studied separately. In cases where well-managed parent corporate brand image were able to provide endorsement in the case of individual brand strategy like that of brand expansion strategy.

The Effect of Education based on Simulation with Problem-based Learning on Nursing Students' Learning Motivation, Learning Strategy, and Academic Achievement (문제중심학습 연계 시뮬레이션 기반 교육이 간호대학생의 학습동기, 학습전략 및 학업성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was conducted in order to develop an education program based on simulation with problem-based learning, to apply it to nursing students, and to examine its effects on the students' learning motivation, learning strategy, and academic achievement. The subjects of this study were 69 seniors majoring in nursing. Education based on simulation with problem-based learning was applied to the students from September to October in 2015, and then a questionnaire survey was conducted on their learning motivation, learning strategy, and academic achievement. According to the results of this study, the education based on simulation with problem-based learning reduced the nursing students' other-directed motivation (external motivation), increased their self-regulation motivation (identified motivation, intrinsic motivation), and improved their use of resource management strategies. In addition, academic achievement (academic performance, and educational satisfaction) was in a positive correlation with identified motivation and learning strategies (cognitive strategy, meta cognitive strategy, and resource management strategy). In conclusion, education based on simulation with problem-based learning was found to be an effective education strategy for enhancing nursing students' autonomous motivation and improving their use of resource management strategies. Thus, it is necessary to promote the application of simulation with problem-based learning in various care situations and to study factors and parameters influencing learning related variables.

  • Corporate Sustainability Management (CSM) is management approach and strategies that have grown in importance in recent years. and it is becoming increasingly important to organizations in every industry including the construction industry as well. It is important to establish and continuously manage and improve the strategies at the industrial and enterprise level and also to understand their trend. The most practical way to understand the overall sustainability management strategies and trend of construction companies is to analyze the sustainability management report of representative construction companies and to derive keywords for sustainability management, and then analyzed them using big data. The objective of the study is to analyze the trend of CSM strategies of Korean contractors in terms of key characteristics and implications by big data analysis employing keywords identified in the CSM reports of five major contractors in the Korean construction industry. Understanding the sustainable management strategy trend of construction companies has important significance in terms of being able to find out the issues that the construction industry and construction companies should focus on in order to pro-actively prepare for the future.
