The focus of this study is to experimentally investigate the heat dissipation characteristics of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composite films with phase change materials (PCM) to resolve heat build-up problems encountered in various electronic devices. In this study, two different types of phase change materials were used to fabricate the composite films by compression molding method and PCM paste sealing method then compared. It was observed in this study that the heat dissipation capability of PCM/PMMA composite films was remarkably enhanced by applying graphite sheet or graphene film into the composite due to their high thermal conductivity. These PCM/ PMMA composite films were attached on the hot spot inside smart phone and tested its surface temperature change according to time. The heat dissipation capability of PCM/PMMA composite film incorporated smart phone was increased 154% and hybrid PCM/PMMA composite film incorporated smart phone was increased 286% over the reference, respectively.
In the performance of a wind turbine system, the blades play a vital role. However, they are susceptible to damage arising from complex and irregular loading (which may even cause catastrophic collapse), and they are expensive to maintain. Therefore, it is very important both to find defects after blade manufacturing is completed and to find damage after the blade is used for a certain period of time. This study provides a new perspective for the detection of internal defects in glass-fiber- and carbon-fiber-reinforced panels, which are used as the main materials in wind turbine blades. A gap or fracture between fiber-reinforced materials, which may occur during blade manufacturing or operation, is simulated by drilling a hole 5 mm in diameter in the middle layer of the laminated material. Then, a digital-image-correlation (DIC) method is used to detect internal defects in the blade. Tensile load is applied to the fabricated specimen using a tensile tester, and the generated changes are recorded and analyzed with the DIC system. In the glass-fiber-reinforced laminated specimen, internal defects were detected from a strain value of 5% until the end of the experiment, while in the case of the carbon-fiber-reinforced laminated specimen, internal defects were detected from 1% onward. It was proved using the DIC system that the defect was detected as a certain level of strain difference developed around the internal defects, according to the material properties.
Low temperature firing $(Ba, Sr)TiO_{3}$ dielectrics were successfully prepared with lead based glass and those electrical properties were investigated. Different amount of PbO content glass materials were added to dielectrics to investigate the sinterability and its dielectric properties. Also, various compositions of ceramic capacitors were prepared to applicate in multilayer ceramic capacitors. A large amount of experiment has been done with various Pb contented glasses and different sintering temperatures. The sintering temperature of $(Ba,Sr)TiO_{3}$can be reduced from $1350^{\circ}C$to as low as $1050^{\circ}C$ with 4wt% addition of $PbO-ZnO-B_{2}O_{2}$ glass materials. Its dielectric constant at room temperature was up to 8100 with low dielectric loss, 0.005. This ceramic capacitor showed fully fired microstructures with its grain size of 1-3$\mu \textrm{m}$. The sintered body which was sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 2hr with 4wt% $PbO-ZnO-B_{2}O_{2}$ glass material addition satisfied the Z5U specification of the EIAS.

$TiO_2$ thin films consisting of positively charged poly (diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) and negatively charged titanium (IV) bis (ammonium lactato) dihydroxide (TALH) were successfully fabricated on a poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) by layer-by-layer (LBL) self-assembly method. By the measurement of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), it was found that as the solution pH of TALH decreased, the deposition volume of TALH increased and the thickness of (PDDA/TALH) thin film coated on the surface of PMMA particles increased. The PMMA particles coated with the coating sequence of (PDDA/TALH)n showed the variation of color changes as a function of the number of bilayer. The number of bilayer (n) of (PDDA/TALH) thin films was 10 and 20, the values of $a^*$ and $b^*$ decreased from those of PMMA particles without coating films and the color changes was shifted to green and blue direction in the $a^*$, $b^*$ chromaticity diagram. And then, the number of n increased to 30 and 40, the values of $a^*$ and $b^*$ increased and the color changes was shifted to red and yellow direction, respectively. Finally the PMMA particles coated with $(PDDA/TALH)_{50}$ thin film showed a little same value of $a^*$ and $b^*$ with the PMMA particles without (PDDA/TALH) thin film.
The RFI process is an OoA process that fiber mats and resin films are laminated and cured in a vacuum bag. In case that resin film is insufficient to fill empty space in fibers, it makes void defect in composites and this void decrease mechanical properties of the composites. For this reason, non-destructive testing is usually used to evaluate void of manufactured composites. So, in this study, a manufacturing method of standard void specimens, which are able to be used as references in non-destructive testing, was proposed by controlling resin film thickness in the RFI process. Also, a fiber compaction test was proposed as a method to set the resin film thicknesses depending on target voids of manufacturing panels. The target void panels of 0%, 2%, and 4% were made by the proposed methods, and signal attenuation depending on void was measured by non-destructive testing and image analysis. In addition, voids of specimens for tensile, in-plane, short beam and compressive tests were estimated by signal attenuation, and mechanical properties were evaluated depending on the voids.

Today, due to the environmental regulations regarding air pollution in the EU, the use of EPS (Styrofoam) as the cushioning material in the packaging industry is decreasing. In effect, air cushioning based cushioning materials are rapidly expanding into the market and replacing EPS, due to their excellent buffering ability and environmental friendliness. This is a new selective filling type air filling material manufacturing technology that affords improvements in the amount of raw materials required, its processing and its aesthetic appearance compared to the conventional air filling cushioning materials. In this study, a multi-stage air cell filling valve molding technology is developed based on selective filling technology, which allows packages to be selectively filled in various forms by applying valve forming structure technology. This multi-stage air cell filling valve molding technology is a technique in which a plurality of injection ports are formed by laminating three layers of films, viz. a first injection film, a valve film, and a second injection film having valve ends. In the conventional technology, a separate external air injection path for injecting air into a plurality of connected air bags is needed. However, in the proposed system, an external air injection path is formed inside the air bag, Due to the lack of need for an injection furnace, the raw material and process are reduced and air is injected and then discharged, while the air bag is reduced in length to 63 ~ 66% of its normal value. The outer surface of the outer air injection path is integrated inside by maintaining the original length of the cross section, while the unnecessary folded air is injected into the interior of the air bag, This smart air filling type cushioning material manufacturing technology constitutes a big improvement over the existing technologies.
Polymeric meterials that are used for noise and vibration damper in wood/polymer/wood sandwich composites, must have a high loss factor(tan ${\delta}$), and at the same time the storage modulus(E) of $5{\times}10^7$ to $10^9$ dyne/$cm^2$ must withstand over a wide temperature and frequency ranges. In this study, the series of epoxy resinlpolyacrylate interpenetrating polymer networks(IPNs) were synthesized by simultaneous polymerization. Their dynamic tensile properties were measured at 110Hz using Rheovibron instrument. Composite damping factor(tan ${\delta}_c$) and dynamic bending modulus($E_c,\;E_^{\prime\prime}c$) of wood/polymer/wood sandwich composites were measured at 110Hz using a Rheovibron in bending mode of vibration. These dynamic tensile studies indicated that cured epoxy resin/polyacrylates IPNs were semicompatible in the sense that both the shifting of T($E^{\prime\prime}_{max}$) or T(tan ${\delta}_{max}$) and the broadening of glass transition temperature range were observed. Especially, the cured Epikote871/P(n-BMA) IPNs of composition 70/30 to 50/50 showed a relatively high tan a and appropriate E' value over a wide temperature range; consequently the tan a e curves of wood/IPNs/wood sandwich composites was broadened over a wide temperature range.

Recently, 3D printing technology has been applied to make a concept model and working mockup of an industrial application. On the other hand, this technology has limited applications in industrial products due to the materials and reliability of the 3D printed product. In this study, the components of a full cord switch module are proposed as a case of a 3D printed component that can be used as a substitute for a short period. These are hub-driven and lever lockup components that have the structural characteristics of breaking down frequently in the emergency operating status. To ensure the structural strength for a substitute period, research of structure optimization was performed because 3D printing technology has a limitation in the materials used. After optimizing the structure variables of the hub-driven component, reasonable results can be drawn in that the safety factors of the left and right switching mode are 1.243 (${\Delta}153.67%$) and 3.156 (${\Delta}404.96%$). The lever lockup component has a structural weak point that can break down easily on the lockup-part because of a cantilever shape and bending moment. The rib structure was applied to decrease the deflection. In addition, optimization of the structural variables was performed, showing a safety factor of 7.52(${\Delta}26%$).
The board using recycled wood waste chip tends to decrease in terms of physical and mechanical properties. The reasons are notably different shape of chips, components of used adhesive and impurity content, which bring the irregular quality and downgrading of board. More over, the board has higher emissivity of formaldehyde than regular board, because recycled chip contains adhesives that were used to make previous products. This low quality of products weakens the price and quality competitiveness, and it led to bringing the issue of problem in Korean board industry. For these reason, in this study, boards using byproducts of plywood were made to evaluate physical and mechanical properties according to manufacturing conditions. As a result, The board was consists of 4~16 mesh chips for core layer and veneer on both face and they were combined using EMDI, and its' bending strength was 57.7 $N/mm^2$ which is 215% higher than that of OSB (26.8 $N/mm^2$). Moreover, the emissivity of formaldehyde was 0.7 ppm, this board seems to substitute OSB for rated sheathing.

In this study, the output results of 3D printed exterior materials for application to buildings of various shapes are output tests using test specimens, in which 3D printing concrete is cast in a mold and accelerating agents are used to ensure stackability. The unit weight and strength characteristics of the body were analyzed. Compared to the unit weight of concrete placed in the mold, the unit weight of 3D printing concrete using accelerating agents tends to decrease by approximately 3.5% to 5.0%, and the compressive strength is the compressive strength of the concrete placed in the mold. In comparison, the compression strength of the output by 3D printing tended to decrease by approximately 36% to 46%. In the flexural strength, the compressive strength of the output through 3D printing decreased by approximately 36% to 46% compared to the compressive strength of concrete placed in the mold. The impact on the strength characteristics of 3D printed concrete using accelerating agents tended to decrease by approximately 2.0 to 5.8%. Therefore, 3D printing output accelerating agents can be used.
