An Adaptive Speed Control of a Diesel Engine by Means of the On-line Parameter Estimate (디젤기관의 on-line 파라미터 추정에 의한 적응 속도제어)

  • Recently, for the speed control of a diesel engine, some methods using the modern control theory such as LQ control technique, or $\textit{H}_{\infty}$control theory etc., have been reported. However, most of speed controlers of a diesel engine ever developed are still using the PID control algorithm. And, as another approach to the speed control of a diesel engine, the authors proposed already a new method to adjust the parameters of the PID controller by a model matching method. In the previous paper, the authors confirmed that the proposed new method is superior to Ziegler & Nichols's method through the analysis of results of the digital simulations under the assumption that the parameters of a diesel engine are known exactly. But, actually, it is very difficult to find out the value of parameters of a diesel engine accurately. And the parameters of a diesel engine are changigng according to the operating condition of a diesel engine. So, in this paper, a method to estimate the parameters of the PID controller for the speed control of a diesel engine by means of the model matching method are proposed. Also, the digital simulations are carried out in cases either with or without measurement noise. And this paper confirms that the proposed method here is superior to Ziegler & Nichols's method through the analysis of the characteristics of indicial responses.

A study on The Fuzzy PID Controller for an gain self-tuning (이득동조를 위한 퍼지 PID 제어기의 연구)

  • We propose a new method to deal with the optimal gain self-tuning of the PID controller which is used to industrial process control in various fields. First of all, in this method, first order delay system which was modeled from the unit step response of the system is Pade-approximated, then initial values are determined by the Ziegler-Nickels method. Finally, we can find the parameters of Pm controller so as to maximize the fuzzy inferencl function which includes the maximum overshoot, damping ratio, rising time and settling time. The proposed method also shows good adaptability for variations in characteristics and dead time of the system.

  • This paper presents a direct generalized minimum-variance self tuning controller with a PID structure using neural network which adapts to the changing parameters of the nonlinear system with nonminimum phase behavior, noises and time delays. The self-tuning controller with a PID structure is a combination of the simple structure of a PID controller and the characteristics of a self-tuning controller that can adapt to changes in the environment. The self-tuning control effect is achieved through the RLS (recursive least square) algorithm at the parameter estimation stage as well as through the Robbins-Monro algorithm at the stage of optimizing the design parameter of the controller. The neural network control effect which compensates for nonlinear factor is obtained from the learning algorithm which the learning error between the filtered reference and the auxiliary output of plant becomes zero. Computer simulation has shown that the proposed method works effectively on the nonlinear nonminimum phase system with time delays and changed system parameter.

  • This paper describes the design of fuzzy digital PID controller using simplified indirect inference method. First, the fuzzy digital PID controller is derived from the conventional continuous time linear digital PID controller. Then the fuzzification, control-rule base, and defuzzification using SIM in the design of the fuzzy digital controller are discussed in detail. The resulting controller is a discrete time fuzzy version of the conventional digital PID controller, which has the same linear structure, but are nonlinear functions of the input signals. The proposed controller enhances the self-tuning control capability, particularly when the process to be controlled is nonlinear. When the SIM is applied, the fuzzy inference results can be calculated with splitting fuzzy variables into each action component and are determined as the functional form of corresponding variables. So the proposed method has the capability of the high speed inference and adapting with increasing the number of the fuzzy input variables easily. Computer simulation results have demonstrated the superior to the control performance of the one proposed by D. Misir et al.

  • The system that is thermal test system for elements has been controlled generally by PID algorithm because of its characteristic. There is not a mathematical model for the system. So the system that is use the PID controller is not properly operated. To solve this problem, we propose a fuzzy algorithm that parameters and rule base is selected by self-searched algorithm for each system. The input fuzzy membership function is adapted based on the set stable range. Output membership function is nearly fixed but some parameter is adjustable. The rule base is changed under basis on the system response. The output value computed through inference and defuzzification is mapped into a value that is proper for the system operation. Through this regulation, it will be possible to prevent the temperature of system to go into the unstable temperature.

  • In the study, simulation result was studied by connecting PID controller in series to the established Neural Networks Controller. Neural Network model is composed of two layers to evaluate tracking performance improvement. The reqular dynamic characteristics was also studied for the expected error to be minimized by using Widrow-Hoff delta rule. As a result of the study, We identified that tracking performance inprovement was developed more in case of connecting PID than Neural Network Contoller and that tracking plant parameter in 251 sample was approached rapidly case of time variable.

  • Disturbance Accommodating Attitude control logic for 3-axis stabilized spacecraft is designed and compared with PIID control logic. PID controller provide the zero steady error for constant disturbances. PIID controller detect and cancel disturbances upto the ramp input. PID control logic is designed as the main control logic. We designed the disturbance observer to detect the effect of disturbance using the sinusoidal function. The detected disturbance are compensated by the additional control logic. The comparison simulation is conducted between PIID and PIID with DAC. The simulation results show that PIID with DAC shows the better attitude pointing accuracy.

  • 본 논문에서는 포 서보시스템에 대한 여러가지 제어기의 성능을 비교, 검토하였다. 사용된 제어기는 PID형제어기, LQ 추적자, LQG형 제어기, 적응제어기로 이들의 성능을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 비교하고 구현가능한 제어기를 제안하였다. 또한 외란의 영향을 줄일 수 있는 방법도 제시하였다.

  • This Paper is about how to deside the best parameter of PID controller, using Genetic Algorithms and Neural Networks. Control by Genetic Algorithms, which is off-line pass, has weakness for disturbance. So we want to improve like followings by adding Neural Network to controller and putting it on line. First we find PID parameter by Genetic Algorithms in forward pass of Neural Network and set the best output condition according to the increasing number of generation. Second, we explain the adaptability for disturbance with simulation by correcting parameter by backpropagation learning rule by using the learning ability of Neural Network.

  • 현대 산업현장에서 80%이상 사용되는 PID(proportional integral derivative) 제어기는 제어성, 적응성, 제어이득 조정 등의 특정이 있어나 제어 대상에 대한 PID 제어 계수를 경험적 방법인 수동으로 동조해야하는 문제점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 논문에서 PID제어기의 최적 자동동조를 위한 릴레이 동조 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 한계감도법과 과도응답 법으로 초기계수를 결정하는 방법보다 유연성과 적용성이 높고, 이를 마이크로프로세서(DSP : TMS-320C32)에 적용하여 소프트웨어적으로 릴레이의 기능이 이루어지도록 설계했다. 이는 Ziegler-Nichols 계수조정법이 갖는 적용대상의 제약성을 극복한 방법이며, 릴레이에 의해 출력을 강제 진동시키고 출력의 진폭과 주기를 이용하여 PID 계수를 조정하고, 또 상대안정성의 척도인 위상여유를 고려하므로 시스템의 상대안정성과 견실성을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.
