Improvement of an Underactuated Prosthetic Hand Based on Grasp Performance Evaluation (파지성능 평가에 기반한 의수용 핸드의 설계 개선)

  • It has been shown that the adaptive grasp feature can be implemented by underactuated robotic hands with a minimal number of actuators. Following this approach, a new design of prosthetic hand is presented. A method is proposed for evaluating grasp performance using cylinders, spheres, and square bars of various sizes. The effects of the major design parameters were investigated experimentally and an improved design is proposed.

  • OFDM is one of the promising modulation candidates for a fourth generation broadband mobile communication system because of its robustness against inter-symbol inteference(ISI). The OFDM transmission technique has the inherent flexibility to adapt the modulation scheme on each subcarrier according to the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). In this paper, the adaptive modulation scheme of OFDM system is proposed in broadband mobile channel. The proposed algorithm allocates initially the number of bits in each subcarrier using the threshold SNR according to the target BER and controls the total number of target bits using the well-known algorithm of Chow et al. In addition, the subcarriers of the proposed algorithm are clustered in blocks, that the signalling overhead can be reduced for the bit allocation of subcarriers. For the simulated experiments, this paper presents an evaluation for the effects of target BER, the various numbers of subcarriers in the subband block, and Doppler frequency on the performance of adaptive OFDM in broadband mobile channel.

Analytical Models and Performance Evaluations of SNMP and Mobile Agent (SNMP와 이동에이전트의 해석적 모델 및 성능 평가)

  • As the public Internet and private internet have grown from small networks into large infrastructures, the need to more systematically manage the large number of network components within these networks has grown more important as well. The rapid growth of network size has brought into question the salability of the existing centralized model, such as SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol). Thus, for efficient network management, researches about mobile agent have also been performed recently. This paper presents analytical models of centralized approach based on SNMP protocol, distributed approach based on mobile agent, and mixed mode to make up for shortcomings of SNMP and mobile agent. We compare the performance of these analytical models based on network management response time. Experiment results show that performance of mobile agent and the nixed mode is less sensitive to the delay in WAN network environment. However, SNMP is more efficient for the simple network environment like LAN. We also propose an adaptive network management algorithm in consideration of network t environment. delay, task, and the number of nodes based on the results of analytical models. The results show that the adaptive network management algorithm can reduce the network management response time by 10% compared with either mobile agent or mixed mode network management algorithm.

A Grounded Theory Approach on Peoples' Adaptation Experience with Fibromyalgia Syndrome (섬유근통증후군 환자의 질병 적응경험에 관한 근거이론 연구)

  • This was a qualitative study to explore and better understand the adaptation experience and processes of peoples with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), as well as to develop a substantive theory using the grounded theory method. There were 13 patients (12 females and 1 male) who received FMS treatment from Rheumatic Medicine outpatient department of one general hospital. The data were collected through an in-depth interview between January and May of 2014. Transcribed interview contents were analyzed by the grounded theory method of Corbin and Strauss (2008). As a result, a total of 98 concepts, 26 sub-categories, and 10 categories were identified through the open coding process. The process of adaptation experience showed 4 steps: perception of uncertainty and limited condition, evaluation of self-control possibility and determinations of expectations of life, searching and trying of strategies, as well as self-regulation. The 4 types of adaptation experience were expansionary, complacently, effusively and withering. The 'protective self-regulation' theory was derived from the core category of 'learning to self-regulation method'. Patients with FMS has repeatedly attempted these strategies of protective self-regulation in order to gain stability from uncertainty and limited condition of the disease. Based on these results, it is necessary to develop an educational program for patients and families which has appropriate nursing intervention strategies in accordance with the types of adaptation.

  • 본 논문에서는 지능형 교습시스템에서 필요한 교수 모듈을 분석하고 이에 근거하여 새로운 교습모듈을 제시하고 구현하였다. 학습자의 학습능력을 평가하고 이에 따른 교습 전략을 세우고 교습방법을 설정하기 위하여 학습자의 성향을 정확히 파악하여야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 구축된 지식베이스와 학습자 성향을 파악하는 history database를 근거하여 개념 지도(concept map)을 이용하여 학습자 성향과 학습자의 지식 정도를 정확히 파악하여 교습모듈을 제시.구현하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 장시간 심전도를 측정하더라고 착용의 불편함을 최소화하기 위해 가슴에 착용 가능한 벨트형 심전도 전극을 제작하였다. 그리고 심전도 신호의 검출을 위하여 초저전력 계측시스템을 구현하였으며, Zigbee호환의 무선노드를 이용하여 계측된 심전도 신호를 PC측으로 무선 전송하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 착용을 통해 장시간 심전도 측정이 가능하도록 움직임에 따른 동잡음을 제거하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 적응 신호처리기법을 사용하였다. 그리고 가변 기준값을 이용하여 보다 정확한 심전도 R피크를 검출하고자 하였다. 구현된 적응신호처리와 R피크검출의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 MIT-BIH 데이터를 이용한 잡음제거성능 및 피크검출 실험을 수행하였으며, 실제 피검자를 대상으로 활동 중 심전도 계측 실험을 통해 구현된 시스템의 성능평가를 수행하였다.

  • 데이터 특성이 연속적이고 애매할 때 퍼지규칙으로 분류 규칙을 표현하는 것은 매우 유용하고 효과적이다. 그러나 일반적으로 정확하지 않은 데이터 특성에 대해서 소속함수를 결정한다는 것은 어려운 일이다. 본 논문에서는 진화알고리즘을 이용하여 효과적인 퍼지 분류 규칙을 자동으로 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서 규칙의 정확성과 이해성을 고려하여 최적화된 소속함수를 생성하기 위해 진화알고리즘을 사용한다. 먼저 지도 군집화로 진화를 위한 초기 소속함수를 생성한다. 진화알고리즘은 전역적 최적 해를 찾는데 효과적이다. 그러나 시간에 대한 효율성이 낮다. 특히 모델 최적화 문제에서는 개체 평가 단계에서 많은 시간이 소요된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전체 데이터를 여러 개의 부분 데이터들로 나누고 개체들은 전체 데이터 대신 매번 부분 데이터를 임의적으로 선택하여 개체를 평가함으로써 수행 시간을 단축시킬 수 있는 진화 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 퍼지 분류 규칙 생성 방법의 타당성을 검증하기 위한 실험 데이터로 UCI에서 제공하는 데이터들을 사용하였으며, 실험 결과는 기존 방법에 비해 평균적으로 더 효과적임을 확인하였다.

  • The aim of this paper is to build up the design model using ASMOD(Adaptive Spline Modeling of Observation Data) for the optimum scale of fleet, ship particulars and ship speed, etc. ASMOD, which define membership functions of fuzzy rule as B-spline basis function, represents a whole system as the sum of the sub-model. As it reduces the number of division of the space generated by the fuzzy set of input variables, it has a advantage of simplification to model structure and is efficient to represent the non-linear model.

  • 분산형 데스크탑 그리드 시스템에서 안정적인 연산 수행을 위한 노드 구성 기법과 동적인 환경에 적응적인 스케줄링 기법은 필수 요소이다. 그러나 기존 연구에서는 자원 제공자의 휘발성에 적응적으로 대처하지 못하는 연산 수행 모델을 사용하였기 때문에 데드라인 내에 전체 작업을 완료해야하는 응용에 대처하지 못하는 문제점이 발생한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 자원제공자의 성능과 논리적인 위치기반으로 자가 조직적 연산 오버레이 네트워크(Computation Overlay Network) 구성 기법과 자원제공자의 작업 완료 확률과 신용도 값을 이용하여 응용 QoS 보장을 위한 휴리스틱기반 복제 (Heuristic based Replication) 기법을 제안한다. 성능평가에서는 기존 스케줄링 기법과 자원제공자의 작업 완료 확률과 신용도에 따른 분포를 이용한 복제기반 스케줄링 기법을 비교평가 한다.

Detection of Pavement Region with Structural Patterns through Adaptive Multi-Seed Region Growing (적응적 다중 시드 영역 확장법을 이용한 구조적 패턴의 보도 영역 검출)

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive pavement region detection method that is robust to changes of structural patterns in a natural scene. In order to segment out a pavement reliably, we propose two step approaches. We first detect the borderline of a pavement and separate out the candidate region of a pavement using VRays. The VRays are straight lines starting from a vanishing point. They split out the candidate region that includes the pavement in a radial shape. Once the candidate region is found, we next employ the adaptive multi-seed region growing(A-MSRG) method within the candidate region. The A-MSRG method segments out the pavement region very accurately by growing seed regions. The number of seed regions are to be determined adaptively depending on the encountered situation. We prove the effectiveness of our approach by comparing its performance against the performances of seed region growing(SRG) approach and multi-seed region growing(MSRG) approach in terms of the false detection rate.
