  • 본 연구에서는 신호원에 대한 사전 정보 없이 혼합된 신호로부터 잡음 신호만을 선택적으로 제거할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 능동 소음 제거기(Active noise canceller)를 제안한다. 음성신호와 같은 독특성을 갖는 신호의 분리에 효과적으로 사용되는 동적 재귀 신경망 (Dynamic recurrent neural network)을 원하는 신호원에 섞인 잡음신호를 분리하여 선택적으로 제거하기 위한 능동소음제거기의 전처리기로 미용한다. 능동 소음 제거기는 분리된 잡음 신호에 대한 역 위상 신호를 적응적으로 발생함으로써 특정 위치에서 원하는 신호만을 선택적으로 남길 수 있도록 한다. 컴퓨터를 이용한 시뮬레이션에서는 제안된 시스템이 선택적인 소음제거에 효과적임을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new active noise control system that cancels the only noise signal from the mixture selectively. A blind source separation realized by a dynamic recurrent neural network is used as a preprocessor of the active noise control system and separates the desired signal and the noise signal. The active noise control system adaptively generates an anti-noise signal to remove the only noise signal separated by the blind source separation. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective to construct a selective attention system.

  • In this paper, a multi-level adaptive intraframe method has been proposed to separate the luminance and chominance components in NTSC composite signal. The control signals are generated by detecting the vertical correlation and transition in the horizontal and diagonal directions. The chrominance component is adaptively processed through vertical and horizontal filters according to the control signals and the luminance component is processed by subtracting the chrominance component from the composite video signal. The several filters have been used at the sampling rate of four times the color subcarrier frequency and computer simulation and SVP(Serial Video Processing) system have been introduced to compare the performance of the conventional methods and that of proposed one.

  • 본 논문에서는 주요성분분석과 상호정보 추정을 조합한 입력변수선택 기법을 제안하였다. 여기서 주요성분분석은 2차원 통계성을 이용하여 입력변수 간의 독립성을 찾기 위함이고, 상호정보의 추정은 적응적 분할을 이용하여 입력변수의 확률밀도함수를 계산함으로써 변수상호간의 종속성을 좀더 정확하게 측정하기 위함이다. 제안된 기법을 인위적으로 제시된 각 500개의 샘플을 가지는 6개의 독립신호와 1개의 종속신호를 대상으로 실험한 결과, 빠르고 정확한 변수의 선택이 이루어짐을 확인하였다.

An adaptive frequency-selective weighted prediction of residual signal for efficient RGB video compression coding (능률적 RGB 비디오 압축 부호화를 위한 잔여신호의 적응적 주파수-선택 가중 예측 기법)

  • Most video coding systems use YCbCr color space for their inputs, but RGB space is more preferred in the field of high fidelity video because the compression gain from YCbCr becomes disappeared in the high quality operation region. In order to improve the coding performance of RGB video signal, this paper presents an adaptive frequency-selective weighted prediction algorithm. Based on the sign agreement and the strength of frequency-domain correlation of residual color planes, the proposed scheme adaptively selects the frequency elements as well as the corresponding prediction weights for better utilization of inter-plane correlation of RGB signal. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm improves the coding gain of around 13% bitrate reduction, on average, compared to the common mode of 4:4:4 video coding in the state-of-the-art video compression standard, H.264/AVC.

BER Performance Analysis for Adaptive Cooperation Scheme with Decode-and-Forward Relay-Selection (복호 후 전달 릴레이 선택을 이용한 적응형 협력 기법의 BER 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive cooperation scheme with multi-relay nodes which achieves higher performance and spectral efficiency than that of some conventional cooperative schemes. The relay-selection is applied to choose the most potential relay among K ones. Afterward, the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) differences between S-D, S-R and R-D channels are considered for adaptive selection between the direct and the cooperation transmission strategy. In the proposed adaptive protocol, if the direct link is of high quality, the source will transmit to destination directly with all power consumption. Otherwise, the source broadcasts the signal with a lower power and requires the help of the chosen relay if it decodes correctly, else the source will transmit again with remaining power. Firstly, the spectral efficiency is derived by calculating the probability of each mode. Subsequently, the BER performance for the adaptive cooperation scheme is analyzed by considering each event that one of K relays is selected and then making the summation of all. Finally, the numerical results are presented to confirm the performance enhancement offered by the proposed schemes.

  • 본 논문에서는 심층적 강화학습 기반 GOP (Group of Picture) 크기를 선택하여 HEVC/H.265의 인코더를 제어하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존 방법에서는 현재 비디오 신호를 부호화 하는 과정에서 이미 부호화한 정보를 사용해야하는 부호화 의존성에 관한 문제가 있었다. 제안 방법은 강화학습 방식을 도입하여 이러한 문제를 극복하고 입력 비디오의 시간적 상관도에 따라 GOP의 크기를 적응적으로 선택하여 부호화 한다. 본 논문에서는 GOP 선택을 위한 강화학습 환경을 새롭게 정의하고 부호화 성능에 따른 보상을 부여하는 방식으로 학습을 수행한다. 제안된 적응적 GOP 선택에 따라 인코더 제어 시, 부호화 방법의 부호화 효율이 -6.07% BD-rate 향상된 실험 결과를 보이며 본 방법의 우수성을 입증한다.

  • In this paper we present a new image denoising filter that can suppress additive noise components while preserving signal components in the wavelet domain. The proposed filter, which we call an adaptive wavelet shrinkage(AWS) filter, is composed of two operators: the wavelet killing operator and the adaptive shrinkage operator. Each operator is selected based on the threshold value which is estimated adaptively by using the local statistics of the wavelet coefficients. In the wavelet killing operation, the small wavelet coefficients below the threshold value are replaced by zero to suppress noise components in the wavelet domain. The adaptive shrinkage operator attenuates noise components from the wavelet components above the threshold value adaptively. The experimental results show that the proposed filter is more effective than the other methods in preserving signal components while suppressing noise.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘은 심벌 타이밍 jitter 를 최소화하기 위해 가장 강한 신호를 주기적으로 감시하고, 그 신호를 적응적으로 DLL(Delayed Locked Loop)의 기준 신호로 정한다. 결과적으로 제안된 알고리즘은 DLL 추적 실패를 피할 수 있고, 기존의 알고리즘에 비하여 DLL의 정상 상태 추적 오류가 작다. 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 알고리즘의 정상상태 DLL 추적오류가 작고 다중 경로 상황에서 DLL 추적 실패를 피할 수 있음을 확인 하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘은 OFDM 의 시간동기 복원 알고리즘에 적합하다.

Selective Inter-layer Residual Prediction Coding and Fast Mode Decision for Spatial Enhancement Layers in Scalable Video Coding (스케일러블 비디오 부호화에서 선택적 계층간 차분 신호 부호화 및 공간적 향상 계층에서의 모드 결정)

  • In order to reduce the complexity of SVC encoding, we introduce a fast mode decision method in the enhancement layers of spatial scalability by selectively performing the inter-layer residual prediction of SVC. The Inter-layer residual prediction coding in Scalable Video Coding has a large advantage of enhancing the coding efficiency since it utilizes the correlation between two residuals from a lower spatial layer and its next higher spatial layer. However, this entails the dramatical increase in the complexity of SVC encoders. The proposed method is to analyze the characteristics of integer transform coefficients for the subtracted signal for two residuals from lower and upper spatial layers. Then it selectively performs the inter-layer residual prediction coding and rate-distortion optimizations in the upper spatial enhancement layer if the SAD values of residuals exceed adaptive threshold values. Therefore, by classifying the residuals according to the properties of integer-transform coefficients only with SAD of residuals between two layers, the SVC encoder can perform the inter-layer residual coding selectively, thus significantly reducing the total required encoding time. The proposed method results in reduction of the total encoding time with 51.5% in average while maintaining the RD performance with negligible amounts of quality degradation.
