저비점 함산소물질 혼합에 의한 고점도유 사용 디젤기관의 성능특성 연구 (A Study on Performance Characteristics of the Diesel Engine using High Viscous Oils by blending Low Boiling Point Oxygenates)

  • By blending of various low boiling point oxygenated agents to lower grade fuels, significant improvements were simultaneously obtained in smoke, CO, PM, SOF and BSEC. Especially, our trends were remarkably obtained by retarding injection timing, by decreasing boiling point and increasing blending contents of additives in case of oxygenated agents rather than non-oxygenated agents. Also, it was revealed that when 20vo1.% DMM added to high viscosity fuels and injection timing was retarded, NOx-smoke trade off relationship was much better than that of ordinary diesel fuel. Thus, lower grade fuels with high viscosity could be expected to be used efficiently and cleanly in diesel operation by blending low boiling point oxygenates.

플라즈마를 이용한 FGR 기반 저 NOx 연소 타당성 연구 (Feasibility Study of Low NOx Combustion based on FGR using Plasma Reformer)

  • A combined hydrogen generator of plasma and catalytic reformer was developed, and was applied to stabilize unstable flame of 200,000 Kcal/hr LPG combustor. The role of the plasma reformer was to generate hydrogen in a short period and to heat-up the catalytic reformer during the start-up time. After the start-up period, the catalytic reformer generates hydrogen through steam reforming with oxygen (SRO) reactions. The maximum capacity of the hydrogen generator was enough 100 lpm to stabilize the flame of the present combustor. In order to reduce NOx and CO emissions simultaneously, 1) FGR (Flue Gas Recirculation) technique has been adopted and 2) the hydrogen was added into the fuel supplied to the combustor. Test results showed that the addition of 25% hydrogen and 30% FGR rate lead to simultaneous decrease of CO and NOx emissions. The technique developed in the present study showed good potential to replace $NH_3$ SCR technique, especially in the small-scale combustor applications.

저 NOx 응축형 가스보일러 개발에 관한 연구(I) -원통형 다공 예혼합 연소기 설계- (A Study on the Development of Low NOx Condensing Gas Boiler(I) -Design of Cylindrical Multi-Hole Premixed Burner-)

  • This paper describes a design study of the cylindrical multi-hole premixed burner to be used for condensing gas boiler which can raise performance and reduce NOx emission. In this study, specifications of the multi-hole burner (hole diameters and arrangement) are investigated using model flat burners in terms of flame stability, and combustion characteristics for stability and NOx emission are examined for cylindrical multi-hole burner. As a result, the equivalence ratio for optimum operation condition of the cylindrical burner is around 0.72(0.7∼0.75). In this condition, turn-down ratio becomes 3 : 1 at least which is suitable for proportional control. The NOx and CO emission is less than 40ppm and 25ppm(0$_2$0% basis), respectively. This burner can be applied LPG as well as NG because there is no difference for stable combustion region.

관류보일러에서 화염분할 VIStA 버너의 연소특성 (Combustion Characteristics of a VIStA Burner Dividing Flame in a Once-Through Type Boiler)

  • 본 연구에서는 VIStA (Vortex Inertial Staged Air) 버너를 개조하여 관류보일러에 적용하였다. 2차 공기를 노즐을 통해 공급하던 원형과 달리 선회기를 통해 공급함으로써 화염을 안정화하고 일산화탄소(CO)의 발생량을 저감하였다. 그러나, 이러한 개조과정에서 질소산화물(NOx)의 발생이 증가하는 문제가 발생하였다. CO와 NOx 발생량을 함께 제어하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 화염분할을 적용하였다. VIStA 버너는 2개의 연소실이 있고 각각의 연소실에 공급되는 공기량을 댐퍼로 조절하며 3가지 종류의 화염분할 장치를 설계, 장착하여 공기비, 연소부하에 따른 연소 특성을 파악하였다. 화염분할을 통하여 CO 농도 증가는 10 ppm 이내로 유지하면서 NOx의 발생량은 25%까지 저감하는 결과를 얻었다.

  • Three-dimensional numerical investigations are carried out to understand the combustion characteristics inside a DLN(dry low NOx) utility gas turbine combustor during the combustion mode change period by applying transient fuel flow rates in fuel supply system as numerical boundary conditions. The numerical solution domain comprises the complex combustor liner including cooling air holes, three types of fuel nozzles, a swirl vane, and a venturi. Detailed three-dimensional flow and temperature fields before and after combustion mode changeover have been analyzed. The results may be useful for further studies on the unfavorable phenomena, such as flashback or thermal damage of combustor parts when the combustion mode changes.

  • 희박 예혼합 가스터빈 연소기에서 배출되는 NOx, CO 와 같은 오염물질을 예측하기 위해서 화학반응기 네트워크 모델을 개발했다. 본 연구에서는 CHEMKIN 코드와 4 가지 NO 생성 메커니즘을 포함한 GRI 3.0 메탄-공기 연소 메커니즘을 이용해서 가스터빈의 부하조건을 변화시키며 NOx 및 CO 배출의 예측을 수행하였다. 모델의 검증을 위해서 계산된 결과를 모사연소기의 실험 데이터와 비교하였다. 여러부하조건에 따른 4 가지 NO 경로의 기여도를 조사하였다. 또한 인젝터의 질량유동 및 당량비의 불균일성이 NOx 배출이 끼치는 영향을 고찰하고 10ppm 이하의 저 NOx 연소기 개발을 위한 저감 방법을 제안했다.
