초내열합금 Alloy 718에서 미세조직 및 기계적 성질에 미치는 단조 공정 변수의 영향 (Effects of Forging Parameters on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Alloy 718)

  • Alloy 718은 Fe을 다량 함유하고 있어 가격이 저렴하고 엔진 작동조건에서 내열강도, 내환경성 등이 우수하여, 터빈디스크, 터빈샤프트, 터빈실, 압축기 블레이드 등에 다양하게 이용되고 있다. 이 합금은 고온에서 반복응력을 받는 부위에 대부분 사용되기 때문에 고온인장, 저주기 피로측정 등의 기계적 성질이 동시에 요구되며, 이들 특성은 단조공정변수 및 후열처리 등에 의해 크게 바뀌게 된다. 본 연구에서는 Alloy 718을 이용하여 가스터빈 디스크 제조할 경우 공정변수로서 단조온도, 변형속도 등에 의한 조직이 변화와 이에 따른 기계적 특성의 변화를 다루었다. 특히 이 합금에서 결정립크기는 고온 기계적 성질을 결정하는 중요한 변수로 작용하는데, 2단계 단조공정시 재결정에 의한 조직의 변화를 전산모사 방법에 의해 해석하고 그 결과를 조직 관찰을 통해 검증하였다.

저주기 피로해석을 위한 다층모델의 재료상수 추출에 관한 연구 (Study on the Material Parameter Extraction of the Overlay Model for the Low Cycle Fatigue(LCF) Analysis)

  • This work was focused on the material parameter extraction for the isothermal cyclic deformation analysis for which Chaboche(Combined Nonlinear Isotropic and Kinematic Hardening) and Overlay(Multi Linear Hardening) models are normally used. In this study all the parameters were driven especially based on Overlay theories. A simple method is suggested to find out best material parameters for the cyclic deformation analysis prior to the isothermal LCF(Low Cycle Fatigue) analysis. The parameter extraction was done using 400 series stainless steel data which were published in the reference papers. For simple and quick review of the parameters extracted by suggested method, 1D FORTRAN program was developed, and this program could reduce the time for checking the material data tremendously. For the application to FE code ABAQUS user subroutine for the material models was developed by means of UMAT(User Material Subroutine), and the stabilized hysteresis loops obtained by the numerical analysis were in good harmony with test results.

  • 배관의 변형 능력을 향상할 수 있는 지진분리이음의 적용은 내진성능을 향상할 수 있는 효과적인 방법이다. 축 방향의 팽창 및 수축, 휨 변형에 대한 능력이 있는 지진분리이음은 변형이 예상되는 위치에 설치하여 배관을 안전하게 보호하기 위한 목적으로 사용된다. 벨로우즈는 유연하며 강성이 낮으므로 큰 변형에 대응하는 능력이 뛰어나기 때문에 지진분리이음으로 사용할 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 2겹 및 3겹 벨로우즈 시험체의 휨 변형에 대한 내진성능과 한계상태를 평가하였다. 내진성능은 지진하중으로 인한 저주기 피로를 고려하기 위하여 점진반복하중을 적용하여 평가하였다. 평가된 내진성능의 한계상태에 대한 여유도를 확인하기 위하여 일정한 진폭의 반복하중을 적용한 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 벨로우즈 시험체는 스테인리스 강재로 제작되어 연신율이 높아 3겹 벨로우즈 시험체의 최대 가력 변위에서도 2겹 벨로우즈 시험체는 3 사이클 이내로 저항하는 한계성능을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

STS 304 강의 저주기 및 고주기 피로에 있어 초기 마르텐사이트의 영향 (The Effect of Initial α' on Low and High Cycle Fatigue Behavior of STS 304 Stainless Steel)

  • Zero to tension fatigue tests and strain controlled fatigue tests were carried out to find how initial strain induced martensite, ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ affects low and high cycle fatigue behavior and fatigue crack growth mechanisms. Microscopic study and phase analysis were carried out with TEM, SEM, EDAX, Optical Microscope, Ferriscope, and X-ray diffractometry. The amount of Initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ was controlled from 0% to 33% by controlling the temperatures for cold working and heat treatment. Lower contents of initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ showed higher fatigue resistance in low cycle fatigue but lower fatigue resistance in high cycle fatigue because it is ascribed to the more transformation of ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ martensite during low cycle fatigue and higher ductility. In high cycle fatigue, fatigue life is attributed to the strength and phase transformation of austenite into ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ during fatigue was negligible. ${\gamma}$ boundary, ${\gamma}/twin$ boundary, and ${\gamma}/{\alpha}^{\prime}$ boundary were found to be the preferred site of fatigue crack initiation.

Fe-18Mn TWIP강의 Pre-strain에 따른 저주기 및 고주기 피로 수명 예측 모델 (A Prediction Model for Low Cycle and High Cycle Fatigue Lives of Pre-strained Fe-18Mn TWIP Steel)

  • The influence of pre-strain on low cycle fatigue behavior of Fe-18Mn-0.05Al-0.6C TWIP steel was studied by conducting axial strain-controlled tests. As-received plates were deformed by rolling with reduction ratios of 10 and 30%, respectively. A triangular waveform with a constant frequency of 1 Hz was employed for low cycle fatigue test at the total strain amplitudes in the range of ${\pm}0.4\;{\sim}\;{\pm}0.6$ pct. The results showed that low-cycle fatigue life was strongly dependent on the amount of pre-strain as well as the strain amplitude. Increasing the amount of prestrain, the number of reversals to failure was significantly decreased at high strain amplitudes, but the effect was negligible at low strain amplitudes. A new model for predicting fatigue life of pre-strained body has been suggested by adding ${\Delta}E_{pre-strain}$ to the energy-based fatigue damage parameter. Also, high-cycle fatigue lives predicted using the low-cycle fatigue data well agreed with the experimental ones.

  • 가스터빈엔진에서 고열부의 수명은 안전성 평가와 신뢰성 분석을 위하여 설계 시부터 면밀히 평가 되어야한다. 수명평가 과정에서는 구조 형상의 불확실성, 작용하중의 변동성, 재료물성의 분포 등으로 인해 계산된 수명 또한 불확실하게 되며, 불확실 인자들에 대한 수명의 강건성을 확보하기 위하여 신뢰성 평가가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 고온, 고회전하는 가스터빈엔진 터빈의 피로균열 성장수명을 선형탄성파괴역학(LEFM)을 적용하여 계산하였으며, 1차 신뢰도법(FORM)과 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션기법을 사용하여 계산된 수명의 신뢰도를 평가하였다.

  • The automatic turbine startup system provides turbine control based on thermal stress. During the startup, control system monitors and evaluates main components of turbine using damage mechanism and life assessment. In case of valve chest, the temperature of inner/outer wall is measured by thermo-couples and the safety of these values are evaluated by using allowable ${\Delta}T$ limit curve during the startup. Because allowable ${\Delta}T$ limit curve includes life assessment, it is possible to apply this curve to turbine control system. In this paper, low cycle fatigue damage and combined rupture and low cycle fatigue damage criterion proposed for yielding the allowable ${\Delta}T$ limit curve of CV(control valve) chest. To calculate low cycle fatigue damage, the stress analysis of valve chest has peformed using FEM. Automatic turbine startup to assure service life of CV was achieved using allowable ${\Delta}T$ limit curve.

  • Ferritic stainless steel is recently used in high temperature structures because of its good properties of thermal fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and low price. Tensile and low-cycle fatigue (LCF) tests on 429EM stainless steel used in exhaust manifold were performed at several temperatures from room temperature to 80$0^{\circ}C$. Elastic Modulus, yield strength, and ultimate tensile strength monotonically decreased when temperature increased. Cyclic hardening occurred considerably during the most part of the fatigue life. Dynamic strain aging was observed in 200~50$0^{\circ}C$, which affects the cyclic hardening behavior. Among the fatigue parameters such as plastic strain amplitude, stress amplitude, and plastic strain energy density (PSED), PSED was a proper fatigue parameter since it maintained at a constant value during LCF deformation even though cyclic hardening occurs considerably. A phenomenological life prediction model using PSED was proposed considering the influence of temperature on fatigue life.

탄소강의 열간 연성에 미치는 저주기 피로 시기와 냉각속도의 영향 (Effects of Onset Time of Fatigue and Cooling Rate on Hot Ductility of Plain Carbon Steel)

  • The effects of cooling rate and onset time of fatigue test on hot ductility of plain carbon steels containing 0.06$\sim$0.8 wt.% carbon were investigated at various temperatures. The tensile tested specimen after fatigue strain during cooling showed higher hot ductility than the specimen fatigued and tensile-strained after cooling. With a decreasing cooling rate from solutionizing temperature to test temperature, hot ductility was increased in all temperature ranges, typically in the trough region, and the minimum point of ductility moved to a lower temperature. Also, the depth and width of the trough decreased with lowering the cooling rate.
