A New Organic Modifiers for Anti-Stiction (부착방지를 위한 새로운 표면 개질 물질)

  • The chemical and mechanical characteristics of a new surface modifier, dichlorodimethysilane (DDMS, $(CH_3)_3SiCl_2$), for stiction-free polysilicon surfaces are reported. The main strategy is to replace the conventional monoalkyltrichlorosilane(MTS, $RSiCl_3$) such as octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODTS) or 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (FDTS) with dialkyldichlorosilane (DDS, $R_2SiCl_2$) with twit short chains, especially DDMS. DDMS, with shorter chains in aprotic media, rapidly deposits on the chemically oxidized polysilicon surface at room temperature and successfully prevents long cantilevers of 3 mm in length from in-use as well as release stiction. DDMS-modified polysilicon surfaces exhibit satisfactory hydrophobicity, long term stability and thermal stability, which are comparable to those of FDTS. DDMS as an alternative to FDTS and ODTS provides a few valuable advantages; ease in handling and long-term storage in solution, low temperature-dependence and low cost. In addition to the new modifier molecule, the simplified process of direct release right after washing the modified surface with isooctane was proposed to cut the processing time.

Manufacturing Multi-degradable Food Packaging Films and Their Degradibility (복합분해성 플라스틱 식품포장 필름의 제조 및 분해성)

  • Multi-degradable master hatch (M/B) was prepared and 0.05 mm polyethylene (PP) food packaging films containing 0, 10, and 20% M/B were manufactured by inflation film processing. The films were exposed to UV radiation, fungi, and heat in order to observe their photolysis, biodegradability, and thermal degradability, respectively. While pure PP film maintained more than 70% of its original elongation after 8 weeks of UV radiation, an almost perfect loss in the elongation of PP film containing 20% M/B was observed. Significant decreases in elongation of PP films by heat treatment $(68{\pm}2^{\circ}C)$ were also found in samples containing the multi-degradable M/B. By observing changes in film surface after the inoculation of fungi using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the biodegradability of plastic film could be accelerated with the addition of multi-degradable M/B. The results of the mulching test in yard showed that adding multi-degradable M/B can effectively degrade plastic films in natural environmental conditions without interrupting the growth of plants.

Effect of Vapor-Cooled Heat Stations in a Cryogenic Vessel (극저온액체 저장용기에서 열전도 차폐단의 영향)

  • An experimental study on effect of vapor-cooled heat stations in a 5.5 liter cryogenic vessel has been performed. The cryogenic vessel is made of stainless steel of thickness of 1mm and insulated by the combined insulation of vacuum, MLI(multi-layer insulation) and vapor-cooled radiation shield. Vapor-cooled heat stations are also constructed based on the 1-dimensional thermal analysis to reduce the heat inleak through a filling tube. Thermal analysis indicates that the vapor-cooled heat stations can substantially enhance the performance of vessel for cryogenic fluids with high $C_p/h_{fg}$ where $C_p$ the specific heat and $h_{fg}$ the heat of vaporization, such as $LH_2$ and LHe. The experimental results for $LN_2$ shows that the total heat inleak into inner vessel consists of 14% radiation and 86% conduction through the filling tube. Therefore, it is expected that the conduction heat in leak of the vessel for high $C_p/h_{fg}$ cryogenic fluids can be significantly reduced. powders. The amount of copper coating was 20wt%. In order to examine corrosion behavior of the electrodes, the corrosion current and the current density, in 6M KOH aqueous solution after removal of oxygen in the solution, were measured by potentiodynamic and cyclic voltamo methods. The results showed that Co in the alloy increased corrosion resistance of the electrode whereas Ni decreased the stability of the electrode during the charge-discharge cycles. The electrode used Si sealant as a binder showed a lower corrosion current density than the electrode used PTFE and the electrode used Cu-coated alloy powders showed the best corrosion resistance.

Fabrication and Characteristics of Epoxy Resin-Type Based Neutron Shielding Materials (에폭시수지계 중성자 차폐재 제조 및 특성)

  • New neutron shielding materials, KNS-201, KNS-301 and KNS-601 have been fabricated to be used for radioactive material shipping and storage cask. The base materials are a modified and a hydrogenated bisphenol- A type and novolac type epoxy resin, and aluminium hydroxide and boron carbide are added. These shielding materials offer good fluidity at processing, which makes it possible to form this resin shield into complicated geometric shapes such as radioactive material shipping and storage cask. Several measurements were made for the shielding materials to evaluate the thermal and mechanical properties and radiation resistance. The properties of the shielding materials are as follows: onset temperatures 2S7~28$0^{\circ}C$, thermal conductivities 0.9S~1.14W/m. K, thermal expansion coefficients 0.77~1.26x$10_{-6}{\circ}C_{-1}$, combustion characteristics < 80$0^{\circ}C$, ATB(average time of burning) < 5sec, AEB(average extent of burning) < 5mm, tensile strengths 2.5~3.2kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$, compressive strengths 13.2~1S.2kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$, flexural strengths 5.2 -6.4kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$. In general, the concerned properties of KNS-201, KNS-301 and KNS-601 were revealed to be better than those of NS-4- FR. foreign neutron shielding material. It is also observed that the radiation resistance of KNS- 601 was better than those of KNS-201 and KNS-301.

Consumer's Perception, Preference and Intake Frequency of Jangachi(Korean Pickle) by Age for Developing Low Salt Jangachi (저염 장아찌 개발을 위한 연령별 소비자 인식, 기호도 및 섭취빈도 조사)

  • This study was performed to analyze the perception, preference and intake frequency of Jangachi(Korean Pickle) in order to develop low salt healthy Jangachi(Korean pickle). The findings are summarized as follows: The reason for eating Jangachi was 'Stimulation of appetite(47.8%).' The problem of commercial Jangachi was 'having high Na and sodium contents(59.1%).' The most influential improvement points for development of low-sodium Jangachi was 'Sanitarily distributed,' followed by 'not too salty,' 'low price,' and 'safe to store.' The important items of manufacture factor for making low-sodium Jangachi were safety(4.36 points), sanity, safekeeping and storage, and quality of ingredients. The important items of quality factor were taste(4.30 points), salinity, nutrition and temperature. The most preferred and frequently intake Jangachi was 'garlic Jangachi', followed by 'perillar leaf Jangachi', 'dried radish Jangachi', 'onion Jangachi', 'pepper Jangachi', 'garlic stem Jangachi', 'cucumber Jangachi', 'radish Jangachi', and 'soy leaf Jangachi'.

  • As the number of mobile device users increases, research on various user authentication methods has been actively conducted to protect sensitive personal information. Knowledge-based techniques have the disadvantage that security is deteriorated due to easy exposure of authentication means, and proprietary-based techniques have a problem of increasing construction cost and low user convenience to use the service. In order to solve this problem, a FIDO authentication system, which is a user authentication method using a smart device, has been proposed. Since the FIDO authentication system performs authentication based on the biometric information of the user, the risk of the authentication means being leaked is low, and since the authentication information is stored in the user's smart device, the user information due to server hacking is solved. Through this, it is possible to select and utilize user authentication technology suitable for the security level of the service. In this paper, we introduce the FIDO authentication system, explain the main parts required for FIDO UAF client-server development, and show examples of implementation using UAF open source provided by ebay.

  • As the industries become more developed, the amounts of hazardous materials have been increased. Because of that, the possibility of accidents in plants is expected to increase. Especially, the dispersions of toxic materials cause serious effect to human life and environment, So it is very important to confirm safety distance of discharge accident. For this paper, we proposed new algorithms for toxic liquid, such as benzene and acrylonitrile. and using this argorithm, we are going to predict safety distance. The scenario of accidental release was assumed to be the release of entire quantity in 10 minutes is defined as worst-case scenario and Instantaneous release. Also the release from a partial rupture of line is used as an alternative case scenarios as NICS(National Institute of Chemical Safety) guidelines. Using ALOHA program and the algorithm for liquid toxic materials and suggested the graph, as well as correlated equations which can utilize emergency responders.

Optimal Operation Methods of the Seasonal Solar Borehole Thermal Energy Storage System for Heating of a Greenhouse (온실난방을 위한 태양열 지중 계간축열시스템의 최적 운전 방안)

  • Solar energy is one of the most abundant renewable energy sources on Earth but there are restrictions on the use of solar thermal energy due to the time-discrepancy between the solar-rich season and heating demand. In Europe and Canada, a seasonal solar thermal energy storage (SSTES), which stores the abundant solar heat in the summer and uses the heat for the winter heating load, is used. Recently, SSTES has been introduced in Korea and empirical studies are actively underway. In this study, a $2,000m^2$ flat plate type solar collector and $20,000m^2$ of borehole thermal energy storage (BTES) were studied for a greenhouse in Hwaseong City, which has a heating load of 2,164 GJ/year. To predict the dynamic performance of the system over time, it was simulated using the TRNSYS 18 program, and the solar fraction of the system with the control conditions was investigated. As a result, the solar BTES system proposed in this study showed an average solar fraction of approximately 60% for 5 years when differential temperature control was applied to both collecting solar thermal energy and discharging BTES. The proposed system simplified the configuration and control method of the solar BTES system and secured its performance.

Quality Properties Depending on Aging of Deabong Persimmon-fermented Liquor (매실 첨가 대봉감 발효 숙성주의 이화학적 특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to prepare Daebong persimmon-fermented liquor supplemented with Prunus mume fruit to promote the consumption of Daebong persimmon and to develop local specialties. As fermentation progressed, the alcohol content rapidly increased, whereas the sugar content decreased. With the production of CO2 from the second day of fermentation, the epidermis and flesh solids of the Daebong persimmons began mixing together and rose to the surface of the fermentation container. This phenomenon continued until the fourth and fifth days of fermentation; on the fifth day, the ethanol and sugar contents were 11.4% and 9.8°Brix, respectively. A concentration of 6 to 9% (w/w) P. mume fruit was found to be the optimal amount during Daebong persimmon fermentation. When the fermented liquor was stored for 60 days at 5℃, the pH and ethanol content showed no significant change during the aging period. As aging progressed, the content of sugar slowly decreased in both the control sample and in the one to which P. mume was added, showing 9.8 and 10.4 mg/ml at the eighth week post-aging, respectively. The total acid content was 0.79~0.81% at the beginning of aging but slightly increased to 0.84~0.86% in the second week of aging. As a result of the sensory test, the sour taste, sweetness, and flavor were slightly stronger in the P. mume fruit group than in the control group.

Assessment of the Applicability of Vapor Cloud Explosion Prediction Models (증기운 폭발 예측 모델의 적용성 평가)

  • This study evaluates the applicability of the TNT Equivalency Method, Multi-Energy Method, and Baker-Strehlow-Tang (BST) Method, which are blast prediction models used to determine the overpressure of blast wave generated from vapor cloud explosion. It is assumed that the propane leaked from a propane storage container with a capacity of 2000 kg installed in an area where studio houses and shopping centers are concentrated causes a vapor cloud explosion. The equivalent mass of TNT calculated by applying the TNT Equivalency Method is found to be 4061 kg. Change of overpressure with the distance obtained by the TNT Equivalency Method, Multi-Energy Method, and BST Method is rapid and the magnitude of overpressure obtained by the TNT Equivalency Method and BST method is generally similar within 100 m from explosion center. As a result of comparing the overpressure observed in the actual vapor cloud explosion case with the overpressure obtained by applying the TNT Equivalent Method, Multi-Energy Method, and BST Method, the BST Method is found to be the best fit. As a result of comparing the overpressure with the distance obtained by each explosion prediction model with the damage criteria for structure, it is estimated that the structure located within 90 m from explosion center would suffer a damage more than partial destruction, and glass panes of the structure separated by 600 m would be fractured.
