A study for chirp signal method & system implementation in the PLC modem with low speed (저속 PLC 모뎀에서의 Chirp 신호 방식과 시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • The representative communication method which is applied in the low-speed power line communication modem with 60bps is single carrier method. It has been used mainly for the control. The single carrier method is very sensitive to a power line communication channel environment. Specially, the severe attenuation of the transmission signal according to the notch characteristics of channel becomes the main cause of communication error. Domestic power line channel environment has this notable feature. In this paper, we implemented the low-speed power line communication system which used the chirp signal method to be strong in notch and noise characteristics. In this research, we proposed the method which transmits 1- '1 Unit symbol Chirp signal' with a 100${\mu}s$ time within 1ms for 1 bit. Also it applied for the Convolution code for an error correction and the Manchester code for a collision perception and an error detection. It used the method which uses the bit correlator for signal detection in the receiver parts. We confirmed that the communication method of the chirp method has a excellent performance compared to single carrier methods with a result of experiment of the low-speed power line communication system with the 60bps.

Evaluation of the Absorbing Performance of Radar-absorbing Structure with Periodic Pattern after the Low-velocity Impact (주기패턴 레이더 흡수 구조의 저속충격 후 흡수 성능 평가)

  • In this paper, the microwave absorbing characteristics after the impact of the radar-absorbing structure (RAS) consisting of periodic pattern sheet (PPS) and glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) were experimentally investigated. The fabricated RAS effectively absorbed the microwave in the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz). In order to induce the damage to the RAS, a low-velocity impact test with various impact energy of 15, 40, and 60 J was conducted. Afterward, the impact damage was observed by using visual inspection, non-destructive test, and image processing method. Moreover, the absorbing performance of intact and damaged RAS was measured by the free-space measurement system. The experiment results revealed that the delamination damage from the impact energy of 15 J did not considerably affect the microwave absorbing performance of the RAS. However, fiber breakage and penetration damage with a relatively large damaged area were occuured when the impact energy was increased up to 40 J and 60 J, and these failures significantly degraded the microwave absorbing characteristics of the RAS.

  • In this paper, the low velocity impact characteristics of filament winding CFRP pressure vessel was investigated using numerical and experimental methods. The cylinder part of CFRP vessel was impacted using triangular shape impactor which simulated the sharp edge of dropping tools and impact response behavior of CFRP was reviewed. The mechanical behavior, such as deformation and stress distribution, were also predicted by explicit finite element method and the validity of the model was investigated. For the quantitative evaluation of the residual strength of the pressure vessel after impact, a series of the ring specimens was cut from the impacted vessel and its burst pressure was measured by hydraulic pressure hoop tension test. As the results, the relationship between the residual strength degradation and the impact energy was successively obtained and a useful methodology to evaluate quantitatively the impact damage tolerance of CFRP pressure vessel was established.

Comparative Study on Low-velocity Impact Behavior of Graphite/Epoxy Composite laminate and Steel Plate (탄소/에폭시 복합재 적층판과 강판의 저속충격 거동에 관한 비교 연구)

  • This study was performed to make a comparison on low-velocity impact behavior between graphite/epoxy composite laminate and steel plate. In order to validate the proposed scheme fur the impact behavior of the plate, the Karas's impact model was used. The impact models for this comparative study are the graphite/epoxy composite plate having $[0/90/45/-45/-45/45/90/0]_{8S}$ laminate sequence and the steel plate with a steel ball impactor. The low-velocity impact behaviors for two types of plates were comparatively investigated and performed by considering different impactor velocities and weights respectively. In this investigation, it was found that the composite laminate has impact energy absorption effect due to more flexible behavior than the steel plate, and also it has better characteristics on impact damage and weight.

  • This paper proposes a new Digital Reverberator that models Analog Helical Coil Spring Reverberator for guitar amplifiers. While the conventional digital reverberators are proposed to provide better sound field mainly based on room acoustics, no algorithm or analysis of digital reverberators those model Helical Coil Spring Reverberator was proposed. Considering the fact that approximately $70{\sim}80$ percent of guitar amplifiers are still with Helical Coil Spring Reverberator, research was performed based not on Room Acoustics but on Helical Coil Spring Reverberator itself as an effector. After performing simulations with proposed algorithm, it was confirmed that the Digital Reverberator by proposed algorithm provides perceptually equivalent response to the conventional Analog Helical Coil Spring Reverberators.

  • One practical method has already been proposed for predicting the characteristics of ship manoeuvring motions at relatively high advance speed [19]. Howeverf, this method can hardly be applied to motions of ships in starting, stopping, backing and slow steaming conditions, even though such extensive motions are of vital importance from a safety point of view particularly in harbour areas. The method presented here aims at predicting the characteristics of ship manoeuvring at low advance speed, which covers starting, stopping, backing and slow steaming conditions. The force mathematical models at large angles of incidence to the hull as well as under the wide range of propeller operations are formulated. Simulations of various manoeuvres at low advance speed are carried out for two types of merchant ship, I.e. a LNGC and a VLCC. Comparisons between simulations and corresponding full-scale measurements [10], [15] or free-running model tests [6],[10] provide a first verification of the proposed mathematical models.

  • Because the driving time is increased under the low speed by rapidly increasing of vehicles, this paper is presented a new ignition control system for improvement the fuel economy, which only some of cylinders are using under the idle status or low speed and preserving the engine rpm. is applicable to effective in fuel economy. An actual hardware was made to prove this new control system. The developed variable cylinder engine concentrated the heat neat the cylinders in idle status or low speed, so there was a problem in re-ignition. It was the reason of a lot of exhaust gas, high fuel consumption and instability of engine revolution. In this paper, in order to solve above problem to show the improvement fuel economy using the new ignition control system and valve opening period at idle status of low speed.

  • Low-speed gas flows around a micro-scale flat plate are investigated using a kinetic theory analysis. The Boltzmann equation simplified by a collision model is solved by means of a finite difference approximation with the Discrete Ordinate method. Calculations are made for flows around a 5% flat plate with a finite length of 20 microns. The results are compared with those from the Information Preservation method and a continuum approach with slip boundary conditions. It is shown that three different approaches predict a similar basic flow patterns, while the results from the present method are more accurate than those from the other two methods in details.

  • 백본 라우터에서의 최장 길이 프리픽스 검색(LPM: Longest Prefix Matching) 속도를 향상시키기 위해 활발히 연구된 방식들은 계산 량과 사용 메모리 량을 교환하는 방식들이다. 이러한 방식들은 성능향상을 위해서 대용량의 포워딩 테이블(Forwarding Table)을 캐쉬(Cache)에 저장할 수 있는 소용량 인덱스 테이블(Index Table)로 압축함으로써 고속 캐쉬 접근 회수와 그 계산량은 증가하는 대신 저속 메모리 접근 회수를 줄이는 방식이다.〔1〕본논문에서는 저속 메모리 사용량이 증가하는 반면 저속 메모리의 접근 빈도와 계산량을 동시에 감소시키는 FPLL(Fixed Prefix Length Lookup) 방식을 소개한다. 이 방식은 포워딩 엔트리(Entry)들을 프리픽스의 상위 비트(Bit)에 의해 그룹으로 나누고, 각 그룹에 속하는 엔트리들을 같은 길이로 정렬한다. FPLL에서의 LPM검색은 목적지 주소가 속하는 그룹들의 길이를 계산하여 검색할 최장 프리픽스의 길이를 미리 결정하고, 결정된 프리픽스를 키(key)로 하여 해시 테이블(Hash Table)로 구성된 포워딩 테이블에서 완전 일치(Exact Matching) 검색을 한다. 완전 일치 검색을 위해 같은 그룹에 속한 엔트리들을 정렬할 필요가 있는데 이 정렬을 위해 여분의 포워딩 테이블 엔트리가 생성된다. 3만개 엔트리를 갖는 Mae-West〔2〕 경우에, FPLL방식은 12만개 정도의 여분의 엔트리가 추가로 생성되는 대신에 1번 캐쉬 접근과 O(1)의 복잡도를 갖는 해시 테이블 검색으로 LPM 검색을 수행한다.

Actuator design and experimental verification on a high speed underwater vehicle (고속 수중운동체의 구동장치 설계 및 실험적 검증)

  • 본 연구에서는 저속에서도 시스템의 자세 제어가 용이하게 하기 위하여 추진기 뒤에 제어판이 위치하도록 설계하였으며, 일반 서보 시스템과는 달리 무게와 공간 제약이 크고, 제어판 운동에 따른 외란 등록성의 변화가 심하므로 push-pull 형태의 소형, 고출력 편로드 복동 복수 실린더의 작동기를 설계하였다. 또한 일반적으로 서보밸브와 작동기는 일체형으로 설계되나 본 시스템의 공간상 심한 제약으로 인하여 서보밸브와 작동기를 분리하는 방법으로 구조설계를 하고 그 사이 유로는 매니폴드식으로 하여 동력전달을 하였다. 설계된 구동장치를 실제 정밀제작하여 실험을 수행하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과와 실험에 의하여 얻어진 결과를 비교 분석하여 설계의 타당성 및 시스템의 성능을 검증하였다. 고속 수중운동체에 대하여 저속에서 자세제어를 용이하게 하고, 제한된 좁은 설치공간의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 1) 추진기 후미에 독립된 4개의 상, 하, 좌, 우 제어판 설치 2) 서보밸브는 몸체에, 작동기는 Tail Tube에 분리 작동 설계 3) 소형의 편로드 복동 복수 실린더로 설계 구성된 유압식 구동장치는 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통하여 시스템의 타당성을 입증하였다. 그러므로, 개발한 구동장치는 저속에서도 큰 제어력으로 자세 제어가 용이하기 때문에 얕은 수심에서 발사시 예상되는 위험 요소를 상다ㅇ 개선 시키므로써 운용범위의 다양화를 가져 올것으로 기대된다.
