Experimental Study on the Temperature Dependency of Full Scale Low Hardness Lead Rubber Bearing (Full-scale 저경도 납면진받침의 온도의존성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Rubber laminated bearings with lead core are highly affected by changes in temperature because key materials which are rubber and lead have temperature dependencies. In this study, two full scale LRB(D800, S=5) are manufactured and temperature dependency tests on shear properties are accomplished. The shear properties at the 3rd cycle are used at $-10^{\circ}C$, $0^{\circ}C$, $10^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$ respectively. The double shear configuration, simultaneously testing two pieces, is applied for compression shear test in order to minimize the friction effects due to the test machine, described in ISO 22762-1:2010. Characteristic strength, post-yield stiffness, effective stiffness, equivalent damping ratio are estimated and presented coefficient due to the temperature changes.

Prevention of Dental Erosion Due to the Use of Calcium and Fluoride When Ingesting Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermented Milk (유산균발효유 섭취 시 칼슘과 불소 사용에 따른 치아부식증 예방효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of dental erosion according to the type of lactic acid bacteria fermented oil and to identify a method for preventing dental erosion. For the lactic acid bacteria fermented milk, liquid fermented milk, condense-stirred type fermented milk, and condense-drink type fermented milk were used, and bovine tooth specimens used in the experiment were used. As a method to prevent dental erosion, the method of adding calcium to the lactic acid bacteria fermented milk, the method of applying high and low concentrations of fluoride to the teeth before exposure to the lactic acid bacteria fermented milk, and the method of applying these two methods together were measured to measure the preventive effect of dental erosion. As a result of immersing the specimen in the experimental beverage, the surface hardness of liquid fermented milk decreased the most. When comparing the difference in surface hardness before and after prophylaxis care, the Ca 2% group and the NaF 0.05%+Ca 0.5% group showed no significant difference from the negative control group, confirming that it is an effective method for preventing dental erosion. However, considering the change in taste and the stability of ingredients, a method of adding calcium at a low concentration rather than adding a high concentration of calcium is proposed. Therefore, it is recommended to use low-concentration calcium and low-concentration fluoride together to recognize the possibility of dental erosion when ingesting lactic acid bacteria and to prevent dental erosion caused by it.

  • The future population of Korea is expected to reach the second highest level in the world by 2060 for the elderly. It is because of the rapid development of low fertility and medical technology. The burden of society for the elderly is expected to increase steadily. The elderly person firstly appears functional disorder. They have low ability in memory and in cognitive will be. Their activities are therefore limited. And economic production capacity is sharply reduced. Self-sufficiency is a difficult situation. They need help in economic and social aspects. Products for them need research and development. The elderly have a Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI) stage with poor cognitive abilities. It is effective to combine pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods for people with mild cognitive impairment. The effects of non-pharmacological treatments on music have been proven. This paper is a study on the appearance from the viewpoint of design in the development of ancillary instruments using music therapy techniques with Digital Convergence. For this study, we investigated the preference for external appearance of mild cognitive impairment. Two times surveys were conducted. As a result, the design of home care product for the hard cognitive impaired was different from that of a conventional game machine or set top box. It should be designed according to the user's special circumstances. They are memory and cognitive abilities. Products that meet physical and mental changes must be developed.

CVD공정에 의해 증착된 DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) 박막의 질화층 형성에 따른 밀착력 특성 연구

  • Diamond-like carbon (DLC)은 낮은 마찰력과 높은 내마모성 및 내식성등과 같은 우수한 물성을 가지고 있다. 따라서, DLC 박막은 다양한 응용분야에 적용이 가능한 코팅이다. 특히, DLC 박막의 낮은 마찰력과 고경도 특성은 자동차 산업 및 금형과 같은 저마찰 및 내마모성 향상에 기여할 수 있는 매력적인 박막 코팅으로 각광받고 있다. 그러나 DLC 박막의 높은 잔류응력과 다른 기판의 화학적 친화력을 감소시키는 탄소-탄소 결합의 불안정성 때문에 금속소재와의 낮은 접합력으로 인하여 그 응용에 어려움을 격고 있다. DLC 박막의 접합력 향상을 위하여 모재에 활성 스크린 플라즈마 질화 장비를 사용하여 금속 시편에 질화처리를 하였다. 질화처리후 CVD법으로 DLC 박막을 증착하였으며, 박막의 특성은 나노 인덴테이션, 마이크로 라만 스펙트로스코피 그리고 주사전자현미경에 의해 측정되었다. 활성 스크린 질화 장비에 의해 처리된 시편의 특성변화는 GDS, XRD 및 마이크로 비커스 경도계를 이용하여 관찰하였다. 박막과 모재와의 밀착력은 스크래치 테스트에 의해 측정 하였으며, 질화층이 형성됨으로 인해 모재의 상구조와 경도의 변화가 생겼고, 이로 인해 DLC박막과 모재의 밀착력이 상승하였음을 알 수 있었다.

Postharvest Quality of Satsuma Mandarin Fruit Affected by Controlled Atmosphere (CA 저장이 온주밀감의 수확 후 품질에 미치는 효과)

  • This research was conducted to find out whether controlled atmosphere(CA) can maintain Satsuma Mandarin fruit fresh longer compared to cold storage. Fruit harvested in Nov. 1998 at Jeju Province were stored in three different CA condition including cold storage. The CA treatments consisted of combinations of 3%, 5% and 10.9% $CO_2$ with 1% and 3-3.9% $O_2$, respectively. Weight and firmness were maintained higher in static CA chambers than in the cold storage. Soluble solid content in fruit of cold storage increased until 2 months of storage and thereafter sharply decreased, whereas that of CA-stored fruit increased slowly throughout the storage period of 120 days. Citric acid decreased obviously in all the treatments with a partially longer retention in CA chambers during storage. Sensory evaluation clearly showed that CA could extend market period of Satsuma Mandarin fruit.

Physicochemical Properties of Olbyossal(Parboiled Rice) (올벼쌀의 이화학적 특성)

  • We sought to optimize parboiled rice preparations with respect to nutritional composition and to compare the physicochemical properties of polished, glutinous rices and Olbyossal (parboiled rice). Crude lipid contents (all w/w) were: brown glutinous rice (1.92%) > Olbyossal (1.13%) > glutinous rice (1.08%) > polished rice (0.32%). The crude ash content of Olbyossal was greater than that of polished rice. There was no significant difference in crude protein level between Olbyossal and polished rice. Total dietary fiber content (all figures are w/w) was higher in Olbyossal (3.79%) than in polished rice (1.67%). With respect to mineral content, P (249.16 mg%), K (144.67 mg%), Na (35.41 mg%), and Mg (30.24 mg%) levels were higher in Olbyossal than in polished rice. There was no significant difference in fatty acid or amino acid content between polished rice and Olbyossal. The L value (lightness) of Olbyossal was lower than that of polished rice but the hardness of Olbyossal was greater.

The Quality Change and Storage Life of 'Fuyu' Persimmon Chill-injured in Tree (저온피해 단감의 대형포장 저장에 따른 품질 변화)

  • The quality changes of 'Fuyu' persimmon fruits chill-injured on tree with different time periods were evaluated during storage of 6 weeks at $0^{\circ}C$. There was no significant difference among treatments in the weight loss, which increased with storage time. Firmness was found to be very important factor determining the quality level of persimmon fruit during the storage. The increased chill-injured period decreased the firmness, indicating the rapid fruit softening. While the firmness of the persimmons not exposed to chill-injured condition was not changed significantly during the storage period, the firmness of persimmon fruits chill-injured for 1, 3, and 5 days decreased from 26.7, 16.1, 10.8 N to 18.2, 12.22, and 5.8 N for 6 weeks. The total solids content and total acidity did not significantly change during the storage period. The amount of ethylene production from the chill-injured fruits was almost 2 times higher than that without low temperature injury. The results indicated that persimmon fruit injured by low temperature exposure directly affected to the changes of its ethylene production and firmness during storage.

  • Hard Ti(C, N) layers of various compositions were coated on ASP30 tool steel employing a reactive HCD ion plating technique. The effect of film composition on the wear characteristics were investigated in lights of hardness, adhesion and wear mechanism. With an increase in the amount of nonmetallic component(N, C), the hardness of films increased, but the increase in carbon content resulted in poor adhesion. Within the concentration range of ([C+N]/Ti<1), these trends became mute clear than in the concentration below stoichiometry. Therefore, the wear resistance could be maximized when the film is deposited with the concentration of ([C+N]/Ti<1) for high microhardness and, at the same time, with the low carbon contents not to wear out in adhesive mode.

  • In this study, Fe-based bulk amorphous alloy powder manufactured using gas atomization fabrication was used for laser welding. the fracture behavior of welding layer were analyzed. Tensile test results show that the destruction occurred immediately after the elastic deformation, After plastic deformation of the substrate, the destruction occurred. The actual maximum tensile strength of the welding layer and the substrate are 959.9MPa and 220.4MPa. welding layer were each $485.5{\pm}21$ and $197.4{\pm}14$ to the substrate and the actual microhardness, The welding layer has very high hardness. The welding layer showed a very weak fine acicular structure. The base material was shown in the micro structure appear a coarse grain. SEM observations of the fracture after the tensile test. Fracture morphology of the base metal and the welding layer showed ductile fracture and brittle fracture, respectively.

Nutrient Variations in the Jindong Bay during Summer by Ecosystem Modeling (해양생태계모델에 의한 하계 진동만의 영양염변동)

  • During summer, the DIN (dissolved inorganic nitrogen) and DIP (dissolved inorganic phosphate) observed in the Jindong Bay in the southern sea of Korea show much higher values in the inner area of the bay. In general, they have high values in the upper (0-1 m) and lower layers (8 m-bottom), but are relatively lower in the middle layer (1-8 m). These features in their distribution are examined using an ecosystem model with considering the wind, tidal current, horizontal gradient of water density and residual flow. The experiments were focused on how to influence nutrients associated with these conditions. In the experiment with tide-induced residual flow, the values of nutrients appeared lower than the observation, and were well corresponded to it when the effects of wind, tide-induced residual current and horizontal gradient of water density were additionally imposed. A statistical analysis identifies these results. This paper suggests that variation of nutrient in the Jindong Bay during summer should be seriously a(footed wind-driven current by the wind and density-driven current is induced by the horizontal gradient of water density as well as tidal current.
