Bending of Korea red pine (Pinus densiflora) by Microwave Irradiation (마이크로파 가열에 의한 소나무재의 곡가공)

  • The effect of microwave irradiation on wood bending was investigated in this study. The specimens irradiated with microwave were bent around a form by using pedestal-steel and clamps. The specimens, korea red pine (Pinus densiflora), for this test were water-soaked for 78 hours. Saturated specimens were boiled in water for an hour. The size of specimens was 350mm(L) by 20mm(R) by 10mm(T). These specimens were heated by microwave of 2,450MHz. The most suitable time for microwave irradiation seems to range from 60 to 90 seconds. Wood moisture content decreased remarkably with the increase of irradiation time. When a softened wood piece is bent, its convex side was stretched while the concave side was compressed. It can be compressed considerably, but stretched very little. Therefore the failure will be governed by the tensile breaking strain and occur mainly on the convex face. So we obtained results from three different bending process methods as follows : 1) When bending with a pedestal-steel, convex face had not tensile breakings, but concave face had compression fails. 2) When bending with a clamp, bending time increased more than pedestal-steel and occurred tensile breaking. 3) Bending with a pedestal-steel and a clamp was found to be the most excellent operation method in this study.

A Clinical Study of the Foreign Body in the Air Passage (기도이물의 임상적 고찰)

  • A clinical study was done on 24 cases with foreign body in the air passage, who were treated at the department of otolaryngology of Kyung Hee university hospital during the period from Apr. 1973 to Feb. 1983. The obtained results were as follows : 1) The incidence of sex was much higher in male than female and children under 4 years old were predominant. 2) Almost of all patients came in the hospital within 3 days after onset. However one patient came in hospital 5 months later. 3) The variety of foreign body was numerous, among which vegetables and plastic materials were most frequently found. 4) The most common sites of lodgement were trachea and right main bronchus. 5) The common clinical manifestations were dyspnea, decreasing breathing sound and cough. Negative X-ray findings did not exclude a foreign body in the air passage. 6) The important pulmonary complications due to foreign body were atelectasis, emphysema and pneumonia. 7) Foreign body was successfully removed by use of peroral or inferior endoscopy in all cases except one case, on whom thorachotomy was done. 8) The important complications due to the surgical procedure were decannulation difficulty and pneumothorax.

The effects of endogenous attention and reorienting on performance of detection task (내현적 주의와 재정향이 탐지과제 수행에 미치는 영향)

  • We tested the effects of endogenous attention and reorienting on the performance of detection task. In the classic detection paradigm of Posner and Cohen (1980), performance on target detection is measured, where target appears either on the same or difference spatial location of cue stimulus after brief period of SOA (stimulus onset asynchrony). In this study, we induced exogenous attention by manipulating predictability of cue for target, and also induced reorientation by inserting additional (reorienting) cue between initial cue and target. Experiment 1 had three conditions of reorienting speed: Early, middle, and late. Facilitation and IOR (inhibition of return) occurred in different forms depending on SOA and reorienting speed, but we were not able to discover interpretable pattern in the results. However, reanalysis of early reorienting condition revealed that facilitation and IOR occurred in a crossed manner where short SOA found facilitation and long SOA did IOR, the typical results of simple detection task. Experiment 2 collected additional data to replicate the results in early reorienting condition of experiment 1. The results obtained that facilitation occurred with short SOA and IOR with long SOA. These results contrast with those of Wright and Richard (2000) where they reported elimination of IOR when cue had predictability of target locations. These results suggest that additional cue (here, orienting cue), which rapidly appears before extinction of IOR by prior cue, brings about double IOR. The present research demonstrates that even when attention is allocated to certain location via endogenous mechanism, rapidly repeating cues in certain location maximizes IOR that offsets the effects of endogenous attention to the same location.

  • Space design in the 21st century has been developed in connection with media more various than ever. In the age of image represented by popular culture, space design connected with media is based on post-reason thoughts constituting the post-modern society, and reflects polysemously and pluralistically changes in the society through the identification of art with life. The movie, which is an image perceived particularly sensibly and the most impractical simulated image among various illusionary media images composing the contemporary society, is growing rapidly in interrelation with various fields of art based on its peculiar nature, and its influence is getting more extensive. The movie manipulates mass society to create what does not exist and restore lost images into new realities through the reproduction of extremely realistic senses, and uses them in establishing virtual realities and creating illusionary images representing the age of simularc. The illusionary expression of the movie produces new meanings through disintegrating existing meanings and recombining them, and expresses popular culture from a position closest to our everyday life. Such an analytical attitude toward the illusionary movie reflecting our society can be a new approach to space design. The present study attempts to suggest the possibility of applying such an illusionary characteristic of the movie as a methodology of space design by utilizing the characteristic as a conceptual language of space design.

The effect of lubricants in removing smear layer on canal enlargement with engine-driven Ni-Ti file (엔진 구동형 니켈 티타늄 파일을 이용한 근관 확대 시 도말층 제거에 대한 윤활제의 영향)

  • 근관계의 완전한 충전을 위해 기계적인 근관 확대 및 화학적인 세척은 필수 불가결하다. 근관내 기구 조작 시 근관벽에는 무기물과 유기물로 구성된 도말층이 형성되는데, 이 층은 서서히 분해되어 충전재 주위에서 미세누출을 야기하고, 세균과 그 부산물이 이동할 수 있는 통로를 제공하기 때문에 제거되어야 한다. 현재 이러한 목적을 위해 다양한 기구들과 세척 용액들이 이용되고 있다. 최근에는 근관확대를 위해 엔진 구동형 니켈-티타늄 파일이 개발되어 임상에서 널리 사용되고 있으며, 이러한 엔진 구동형 파일을 사용할 때는 윤활제의 사용이 필수적이다. 현재 시판되고 있는 윤활제들에는 도말층 제거를 위한 EDTA가 함유되어 있다. 따라서, 본 연구의 목적은 엔진 구동형 니켈-티타늄 파일을 이용해 근관을 확대할 경우 이런 윤활제들의 도말층 제거 효과를 비교 평가하는 것이다. 본 실험에는 75개의 치아가 각각 15개씩 5개의 군으로 분류되어 사용되었다. 대조군은 윤활제를 사용하지 않은 경우이고, 실험 1군에서는 윤활제로 RC-PREP$^{TM}$이, 실험 2군에서는 Glyde$^{TM}$가 각각 사용되었고. 실험 3군은 RC-PREP$^{TM}$을 사용한 후 17% EDTA로 처리하였으며. 실험 4군은 Glyde$^{TM}$를 사용한 후 17% EDTA로 처리하였다. 처리된 시편을 절단한 후 주사전자현미경을 통해 시편의 근관의 중앙부와 치근단 부위를 관찰하여 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 대조군과 실험군의 비교시, 대조군에서 더 많은 양의 도말층이 관찰되었고, 이는 통계학적으로 유의성이 있었다 (p<0.01). 2. 윤활제의 종류에 따른 비교 시, Glyde$^{TM}$를 사용한 2군에서 RC-PREPTM을 사용한 1군 보다 더 적은 양의 도말층이 관찰되었지만, 이는 통계학적으로 유의성이 없었다. 3. 윤활제 사용과 EDTA 처리에 따른 효과 비교 시, EDTA로 처리한 3, 4군에서 윤활제만을 사용한 1, 2군 보다 더 적은 양의 도말층이 관찰되었으며, 이는 통계학적으로 유의성 이 있었다(P<0.01). 4. 치근 중앙부와 치근단 부위에서의 도말층 제거 효과 비교 시, 1, 2군에서는 치근 중앙부에서 더 적은 양의 도말층이 관찰되었고, 통계학적으로 유의성이 있었다(P<0.01). 3, 4군에서는 중앙부의 도말층이 더 적었지만 통계학적으로 유의성이 없었다. 이상으로부터 EDTA가 함유된 윤활제를 함께 사용하면서 엔진구동형 니켈-티타늄 파일로 근관확대 시, 근관벽에 형성된 도말층 제거에 대한 파일의 효능이 상승되었다. 그러나, 윤활제의 도말층 제거 효과는 17% EDTA용액으로 근관벽을 처리하는 것보다는 낮았다 따라서, 엔진구동형 니켈-티타늄 파일로 근관확대 시 EDTA가 함유된 윤활제를 함께 사용하는 것이 요구되고, 보다 완벽하게 도말층을 제거하기 위해서는 충전 전에 17% EDTA 용액으로 근관벽을 처리하는 것이 필요하다고 사료된다.

  • I try to elucidate the essence of cinematic art in terms of Nietzsche's physiological philosophy of art. According to Nietzsche, the mise-en-$sc{\grave{e}}nes$ in the film are expressions of willingness to the power of the author, the director. These are not re-imitations of the imitations with Platonic measure, sinker, number, but framing the elan vital Erde, die $urspr{\ddot{u}}ngliche$ Vorstellung with the director's body-camera. In this context, the film is essentially die Kunst des Lebens, in which the body and the earth are mediated by cameras. Therefore, it is not the eyes or the head, but the body that is necessary to appreciate film art. But the body at this time does not mean the heavy body of Hollywood standard audiences manipulated, controlled, or transformed by capital. We should stand in front of the film work with body shaking between trauma and Rausch, a dancing body, and a light and fresh body. Only by watching film with the body, can we achieve the small revolutions in everyday life. For example, if we watch $B{\acute{e}}la$ Tarr's film The Turin Horse in such a way, we can no longer be the dwarfed human beings, der Herde-Mensch. Also, $B{\acute{e}}la$ Tarr's mise-en-scene will make us realize why Nietzsche had said that there is art to us not to be destroyed by the platonic truth.

Strategies for Increasing the Value and Sustainability of Archaeological Education in the Post-COVID-19 Era (포스트 코로나 시대 고고유산 교육의 가치와 지속가능성을 위한 전략)

  • With the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the era of the 4th industrial revolution, archaeological heritage education has entered a new phase. This article responds to the trends in the post-COVID-19 era, seeking ways to develop archaeological heritage education and sustainable strategies necessary in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. The program of archaeological heritage education required in the era of the 4th industrial revolution must cultivate creative talent, solve problems, and improve self-efficacy. It should also draw attention to archaeological heritage maker education. Such maker education should be delivered based on constructivism and be designed by setting specific learning goals in consideration of various age-specific characteristics. Moreover, various ICT-based contents applying VR, AR, cloud, and drone imaging technologies should be developed and expanded, and, above all, ontact digital education(real-time virtual learning) should seek ways to revitalize communities capable of interactive communication in non-face-to-face situations. The development of such ancient heritage content needs to add AI functions that consider learners' interests, learning abilities, and learning purposes while producing various convergent contents from the standpoint of "cultural collage." Online archaeological heritage content education should be delivered following prior learning or with supplementary learning in consideration of motivation or field learning to access the real thing in the future. Ultimately, archaeological ontact education will be delivered using cutting-edge technologies that reflect the current trends. In conjunction with this, continuous efforts are needed for constructive learning that enables discovery and question-exploration.

Analysis of Holdup Characteristics of Large and Small Bubbles in Three-Phase Fluidized Beds by using a Dynamic Gas Disengagement Method (삼상유동층에서 동력학적 기체유출 측정방법에 의한 큰 기포와 작은 기포의 체류량 특성 해석)

  • Phase holdup characteristics of relatively large and small bubbles were investigated in a three-phase(gasliquid-solid) fluidized bed of which diameter was 0.105 m(ID) and 2.5 m in height, respectively. Effects of gas(0.01~0.07 m/s) and liquid velocities(0.01~0.07 m/s) and particle size($0.5{\sim}3.0{\times}10^{-3}m$) on the holdups of relatively large and small bubbles were determined. The holdups of two kinds of bubbles in three phase fluidized beds were estimated by means of static pressure drop method with the knowledge of pressure drops corresponding to each kind of bubble, respectively, which were obtained by dynamic gas disengagement method. Dried and filtered air which was regulated by gas regulator, tap water and glass bead of which density was $2500kg/m^3$ were served as a gas, a liquid and a fluidized solid phase, respectively. The two kinds of bubbles in three-phase fluidized beds, relatively large and small bubbles, were effectively detected and distinguished by measuring the pressure drop variation after stopping the gas and liquid flow into the column as a step function: The increase slope of pressure drop with a variation of elapsed time was quite different from each other. It was found that the holdup of relatively large bubbles increased with increasing gas velocity but decreased with liquid velocity. However, the holdup showed a local minimum with a variation of size of fluidized solid particles. The holdup of relatively small bubbles increased with an increase in the gas velocity or solid particle size, while it decreased slightly with an increase in the liquid velocity. The holdups of two kinds of bubbles were well correlated in terms of operating variables within this experimental conditions, respectively.

  • 선도환의 가격을 결정하는 접근방법에는 2차자산(derivative assets)이라는 선도계약의 기본특성에 기초한 재정거래(arbitrage)에 의한 방법이 가장 많이 이용되고 있다. 재정거래방식에는 선도환과 현물외환가격간의 상호관련성에 의하여 선도환가격을 이자율평가설(covered interest rate parity : CIRP), 즉 현물가격과 양국간의 이자율차이의 합으로 표시하고 있다. 특히 현물가격과 이자율은 모두 현재시점에서 의사결정자에게 알려져 있기때문에 선도환가격은 확실성하에서 결정되어 미래에 대한 예측이나 투자자의 위험회피도와는 관계없이 결정된다는 것이 특징이다. 이자율평가설에 관한 많은 실증연구는 거래 비용을 고려한 경우 현실적으로 적절하다고 보고 있다(Frenkel and Levich ; 1975, 1977). 다른 방법으로는 선도환의 미래예측기능에만 촛점을 맞추어 가격결정을 하는 투기, 예측접근방법(speculative efficiency approach : 이하에서는 SEA라 함)이 있다. 이 방법 중에서 가장 단순한 형태로 표시된 가설, 즉 '선도환가격은 미래기대현물가격과 같다'는 가설은 대부분의 실증분석에서 기각되고 있다. 이에 따라 SEA에서는 선도환가격이 미래에 대한 기대치뿐만 아니라 위험프리미엄까지 함께 포함하고 있다는 새로운 가설을 설정하고 이에 대한 실증분석을 진행한다. 이 가설은 이론적 모형에서 출발한 것이 아니기 때문에, 특히 기대치와 위험프레미엄 모두가 측정 불가능하다는 점으로 인하여 실증분석상 많은 어려움을 겪게 된다. 이러한 어려움을 피하기 위하여 많은 연구에서는 이자율평가설을 이용하여 선도환가격에 포함된 위험프레미엄에 대해 추론 내지 그 행태를 설명하려고 한다. 이자율평가설을 이용하여 분석모형을 설정하고 실증분석을 하는 것은 몇가지 근본적인 문제점을 내포하고 있다. 먼저, 앞서 지적한 바와 같이 이자율평가설을 가정한다는 것은 SEA에서 주된 관심이 되는 미래예측이나 위험프레미엄과는 관계없이 선도가격이 결정 된다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 이자율평가설을 가정하여 설정된 분석모형은 선도환시장의 효율성이나 균형가격결정에 대한 시사점을 제공할 수 없다는 것을 의미한다. 즉, 가정한 시장효율성을 실증분석을 통하여 다시 검증하려는 것과 같다. 이러한 개념적 차원에서의 문제점 이외에도 실증분석에서의 추정상의 문제점 또한 존재한다. 대부분의 연구들이 현물자산의 균형가격결정모형에 이자율평가설을 추가로 결합하기 때문에 이러한 방법으로 설정한 분석모형은 그 기초가 되는 현물가격모형과는 달리 자의적 조작이 가능한 형태로 나타나며 이를 이용한 모수의 추정은 불필요한 편기(bias)를 가지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 실증분석상의 편기에 관한 문제점이 명확하고 구체적으로 나타나는 Mark(1985)의 실증연구를 재분석하고 실증자료를 통하여 위험회피도의 추정치에 편기가 발생하는 근본원인이 이자율평가설을 부적절하게 사용하는데 있다는 것을 확인 하고자 한다. 실증분석결과는 본문의 <표 1>에 제시되어 있으며 그 내용을 간략하게 요약하면 다음과 같다. (A) 실증분석모형 : 본 연구에서는 다기간 자산가격결정모형중에서 대표적인 Lucas (1978)모형을 직접 사용한다. $$1={\beta}\;E_t[\frac{U'(C_{t+1})\;P_t\;s_{t+1}}{U'(C_t)\;P_{t+1}\;s_t}]$$ (2) $U'(c_t)$$P_t$는 t시점에서의 소비에 대한 한계효용과 소비재의 가격을, $s_t$$f_t$는 외환의 현물과 선도가격을, $E_t$${\beta}$는 조건부 기대치와 시간할인계수를 나타낸다. Mark는 위의 식 (2)를 이자율평가설과 결합한 다음의 모형 (4)를 사용한다. $$0=E_t[\frac{U'(C_{t+1})\;P_t\;(s_{t+1}-f_t)}{U'(C_t)\;P_{t+1}\;s_t}]$$ (4) (B) 실증분석의 결과 위험회피계수 ${\gamma}$의 추정치 : Mark의 경우에는 ${\gamma}$의 추정치의 값이 0에서 50.38까지 매우 큰 폭의 변화를 보이고 있다. 특히 비내구성제품의 소비량과 선도프레미엄을 사용한 경우 ${\gamma}$의 추정치의 값은 17.51로 비정상적으로 높게 나타난다. 반면에 본 연구에서는 추정치가 1.3으로 주식시장자료를 사용한 다른 연구결과와 비슷한 수준이다. ${\gamma}$추정치의 정확도 : Mark에서는 추정치의 표준오차가 최소 15.65에서 최대 42.43으로 매우 높은 반면 본 연구에서는 0.3에서 0.5수준으로 상대적으로 매우 정확한 추정 결과를 보여주고 있다. 모형의 정확도 : 모형 (4)에 대한 적합도 검증은 시용된 도구변수(instrumental variables)의 종류에 따라 크게 차이가 난다. 시차변수(lagged variables)를 사용하지 않고 현재소비와 선도프레미엄만을 사용할 경우 모형 (4)는 2.8% 또는 2.3% 유의수준에서 기각되는 반면 모형 (2)는 5% 유의수준에서 기각되지 않는다. 위와같은 실증분석의 결과는 앞서 논의한 바와 같이 이자율평가설을 사용하여 균형자산가격 결정모형을 변형시킴으로써 불필요한 편기를 발생시킨다는 것을 명확하게 보여주는 것이다.

A COMPARISON OF DECISIONS FOR PRIMARY ANTERIOR TEETH BETWEEN PEDIATRIC DENTISTS AND GENERAL DENTISTS (유전치 우식에 대한 치과의사들의 치료 선택 현황 조사)

  • Children usually have varying degree of caries in primary anterior teeth, and treatment planning for each case prescribed by each dentist can also be varied. This survey was conducted to compare the preferred treatment method and restorative materials between general dentists and pediatric dentists in regard to the treatment of primary incisors. The questionnaires, composed of 18 questions were sent to 45 general dentists and 50 pediatric dentists. Among which 30 and 31 questionnaires were retrieved respectively. The collected data were analyzed by rate and the results were as follows: 1. For the teeth with initial caries without cavitation, general dentists showed the tendency to prefer restorative treatment(30%) or observation without any treatment(42%), whereas pediatric dentists prefer preventive treatment(76%). 2. The primary factor in choosing restorative materials by both groups was its manipulativeness. 3. For anterior esthetic restoration, general dentists seldom use the full-coverage restoration(13%) but resin restoration(75%), whereas pediatric dentists frequently used full-coverage crow(64%). 4. In the treatment of dentinal caries, pediatric dentist did not perform the treatment lesser than 2.0 years before the exfoliation (compared to 1.2 years of general dentist). 5. In the treatment of 1 year children, both pediatric and general dentists tend to select preventive procedure as first choice of treatment(84%, 52%). When treating primary incisor caries, it is shown that pediatric dentists are more interested in restorative/preventive treatment than general dentists are.
