  • As the local economy has become stagnant, various policies have been made to revitalize the enormous construction industry. However, it is difficult for these policies to achieve their objective, as the construction industry is not an island unto itself but is interconnected in complex ways with diverse other areas of the economy. Interviews and surveys were conducted with experts in Busan, in order to identify the causes of the stagnant economy in the local construction market. The main findings were as follows. First, cost reduction and realistic master plans are needed as a solution for the problems of the redevelopment housing plan. Second, the alleviation of the construction policy is also necessary in order to overcome the problems of not considering the local construction industry. Finally, vocational training and quality education are needed to address the low awareness of construction feasibility analysis and the lack of highly trained human resources. The results of the study will help efforts to revitalize the local construction industry, and will provide an opportunity to reconsider the differences between the experts on issues of the industry.

Problems in the progress of promoting urban renewal projects made the paper are analyzed in this research. This research examined the actual condition about urban renewal projects synthetically and then, deduced the following improvement plan. First, formulating long-term renewal plan is needed. Secondly, It should be changed into the gradual urban renewal project on a small scale according to various conditions of each local area. Finally, support of the central government in consideration of local conditions should be carried out.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the cause of repeated accidents through the investigation and analysis of the collapse cases of domestic earthquakes in order to prevent the earthquake disaster in the urban redevelopment and reconstruction. It is designed and constructed to draw out various problem factors and to find solutions to these problems. And the contents related to various laws and systems of the construction project management stage. Especially. In the management of the construction management centered on the safety management and quality control of the technical aspect design, supervision, construction phase through the cause of the accident and improvement measures based on the investigation report of the collapse of the construction site near Sangdo Kindergarten in Seoul. Supervisor. And constructors should be settled on the responsibility and responsibility of God. In order to achieve the purpose of the project, a system is established to link worker-centered occupational safety and health management with technology-based safety construction management, and analysis of how the quality control of the earthquake prevention affects safety construction management The purpose of this study is to prepare the optimum management plan of construction business. As a result of this study, it is aimed to accomplish the purpose of small scale redevelopment and reconstruction construction project by providing optimization method in the stage of construction project management in order to prevent collapse caused by differences in design,Is expected.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the urban land used by the Urban Land Use Information System (ULIS) which can supply the micro-level land usc information for the understanding of micro-level urban spatial structure and district-level planning and managements(such as urban design, redevelopment planning and district-level transportation planning, etc.). The study evaluates the current situation of urban land use database and suggests the prototype of urban land use database using GIS. The planning and management of post-modern city which has characterized by diversity and the mixture of land use, need more detail and quantitative information about land use. Recent redevelopment and reconstruction of existing physical condition are increasing the density of activity. It raises urban problems such as the shortage of infrastructure and traffic congestion, etc. In this process we need to construct information system which monitors current land use situation.

  • In this study, the effects of urban redevelopment and building construction on the change of the detailed flows around the Pukyong National University (PKNU) campus located in the building-congested area was investigated using a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) model and GIS (geographic information system). For the analysis of the detailed flows before and after the constructions of the buildings around and within the campus, numerical simulations for the 16 inflow directions were performed before and after the construction. We used, as reference wind speeds at the inflow boundaries, the averaged wind speeds observed at the Gwangan light beacon (962) where there is no surrounding obstacle (i.e., building and terrain) acting as friction. We analyzed the area fractions in which wind speeds at z = 2.5 m changed after the construction for 16 inflow directions. The area fractions were relatively large in the east-south-easterly and southerly cases, because of the high-rise buildings constructed at the east and the apartment complex and the Engineering buildings constructed at the south of the PKNU campus. In the case of the easterly of which frequency is highest among the wind directions observed at the Daeyeon AWS (AWS 942) located inside the PKNU campus, the wind-speed change was not significant even after the constructions. It is shown that the building construction has affected the detailed flows around as well as even in the far downwind region of the constructed buildings. Also, it is shown that the GIS and CFD model are useful for analyzing the detailed flows in planning the urban redevelopment and/or building construction.

  • Using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model, the effects of building complexes constructed under an urban renewal plan on air flows in an urban area were investigated. For this, the geographic information system (GIS) data were used as the input data of the CFD model and four experiments were numerically simulated for different inflow directions (westerly, southerly, easterly, and northerly cases). Before constructing building complexes under the urban renewal plan, wind speed at the pedestrian level was very low around buildings because of decrease in wind speed by the drag effect of the densely distributed low-rise buildings. As the high-rise buildings were constructed and building density decreased by the urban renewal plan, wind speed at the pedestrian level increased compared to that before the urban renewal plan because the drag effect by the buildings decreases and the channeling effect satisfying the mass continuity partially appeared at the spaces among the high-rise buildings. At the upper levels, wind speed partially increased inside the high-rise buildings due to the channeling effect but it remarkably decreased across a vast extent of the downwind regions due to the generation of the recirculation zone and the drag effect of the high-rise buildings.

  • As with cities, all components of a campus must be carefully calibrated to provide the facilities, services like energy, water, electricity, information and communication; classrooms, libraries and laboratories for working; transportation networks and systems for movement of persons, goods, and services; athletic and other facilities for health and competition; places to eat, recreate and socialize; places to display and store works of arts; spaces for the performing arts' spaces for active assembly or solitary pondering. The goal of this study is how to observe the campus planning and development as a part in the context of the community. This study was taken into account neighborhood concerns and Harvard design guidelines. As an observer for the university's northern campus edge, this study suggests in the context of a long and sometimes turbulent history of dialogue and negotiations between Harvard University and first host community, Agassiz which is one of Cambridge's thirteen neighborhoods.
