TRS를 이용한 선박위치 자동발신장치 적용방안에 대한 연구

  • 선박관제시스템(VMS)는 최근 선박에서 도입되어 설치된 선박자동식별장치(AIS)에 의해 많은 정보를 획득하여 처리하고 있으나 AIS가 미설치된 소형선박, 어선 및 기타선박들에 대해 지속적으로 설치를 확대하고 있다. 특히 항계 내의 선박들의 주 통신시스템인 VHF 무선전화기는 항내에 입출항 중인 모든 선박들이 사용하기 때문에 통화 교신량의 폭주로 원활한 통신이 힘들어지고 또한 선박자동식별장치의 데이터 통신채널 또한 VHF이므로 class A 선박들도 동적 데이터의 누락현상이 발생하고 class B 선박들도 지역적으로 데이터 폭주현상이 발생하는 것으로 평가되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 연안에서 운항하고 있는 모든 선박들을 모니터링하기 위해 소형선 및 심지어 어선들까지 선박자동식별장치의 설치를 유도하고 있는 실정이므로 통신채널의 폭주현상에 따른 데이터 누락현상은 더욱 심해질 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 주파수공용방식(TRS: Trunk Radio System)의 통신시스템을 이용한 선박위치 자동발신장치에 적용방안을 제안하고 그 활용성을 입증하고자 한다.

Design for Automatic Building of a Device Database and Device Identification Algorithm in Power Management System (전력 관리 시스템의 장치 데이터베이스 자동 구축 및 장치 식별 알고리즘 설계)

  • In this paper, an algorithm of extracting the features of home appliances and automatically building a database to identify home appliances is designed and presented. For the verification, a software library supporting this algorithm is implemented and added to an power management system server, which was already implemented to support real-time monitoring of home appliances' power consumption status and controlling their power. The implemented system consists of a system server and clients, each of which measures the power consumed by a home appliance plugged in it and transmits the information to the server in real-time over a wireless network. Through experiments, it is verified that it is possible to identify any home appliance connected to a specific client.

  • Technological advancement and demand of sUAS (small Unmanned Aircraft System)are rapidly growing, which makes the current legal system unable to follow. Currently, Aviation Security Act and its subordinate law exclude the registration and certification for non-commercial purpose sUAS weighing less than 12kg. Despite this sUAS being the most popular model for consumer, there is no way to regulate them legally. When there is sUAS crash accident, the operator legally responsible for the occurrence damage cannot be identified. It has been an issue for a long time with the concrete classification and registration of sUAS, but it has not been introduced yet. It is obvious that damages caused by sUAS will be transferred not only to operators but also to third parties. Discussions on liability insurance for these sUAS are actively being held. But first, it is necessary to identify who will be responsible for the damage caused by the sUAS. In other words, even with the liability system established, without clarified operator the damage occurred cannot determine who is responsible. According to the cases of America and Germany, they have enforced the law of registration and identification obligated to 200g or 250g sUAS. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare regulations on concrete classification and registrations to identify for noncommercial purpose sUAS as soon as possible in Korea.

  • Liquid acquisition device in the liquid propellant supply system is required to protect entrance of gas bubble into the propulsion system. The device exploits the capillary effect of micro-sized poles in a screen and supplies pure liquid-phase propellant to the propulsion system. The bubble point is the most important performance parameter in the design of a liquid acquisition device. In this paper, performance parameters affecting the bubble point are identified through literature survey, in order to develop the experimental setup for the bubble point measurement.

Development of Home Electrical Power Monitoring System and Device Identification Algorithm (가정용 전력 모니터링 시스템 및 장치식별 알고리즘 개발)

  • This paper presents an electrical power monitoring system for home energy management and an automatic appliance-identification algorithm based on the electricity-usage patterns collected during the monitoring tests. This paper also discusses the results of the field tests of which the proposed system was voluntarily deployed at 13 homes. The proposed monitoring system periodically measures the amount of power consumption of each appliance with a pre-specified time interval and effectively displays the essential information provided by the monitored data which is required users to know in order to save power consumption. Regarding the field tests of the monitoring system, the households responded that the system was useful in saving electricity and especially the electricity-usage patterns per appliances. They also considered that the predicted amount of the monthly power consumption was effective. The proposed appliance-identification algorithm uses 4 patterns: Zero-Crossing Rate(ZC), Variation of On State(VO), Slope of On State(SO) and Duty Cycle(DC), which are applied over the 2 hour interval with 25% of it on state, and it yielded 82.1% of success rate in identifying 5 kinds of appliances: refrigerator, TV, electric rice-cooker, kimchi-refrigerator and washing machine.

등부표의 야간 시인성을 높이는 태양광 LED윤곽표시조명의 적용사례

  • 해상등부표는 선박 통항의 안전을 위해서 필요한 시설로, 낚시 배와 소형 어선을 포함한 선박의 항로표지에 중요한 역할을 한다. 그런데 야간에는 해상에 설치된 등부표의 위치나 번호판 식별이 어려워 소형 어선이나 선박이 등부표에 가까이 접근하여 등부표를 발견하지 못하는 경우 충돌하여 선박이 파손되거나 인명사고가 발생한다. 이 적용사례는 소형 어선이나 선박이 야간에도 등부표의 위치와 번호판을 손쉽게 식별할 수 있도록 등부표에 윤곽표시조명장치를 구비하여 충돌사고의 예방과 항로표지서비스를 향상시키는 목적을 갖고 개발을 추진하였다. 윤곽표시조명장치는 태양광전원을 이용하여 IP68 방수형 고효율 LED조명을 구비하여 멀리서도 식별이 가능하여 야간에도 신속하게 안전한 항로를 확보할 수 있게 되었으며, 근접센서 콘트롤러를 결합하여 선박이 등부표에 가까이 접근하면 LED조명이 점멸하며 깜빡이면서 충돌위험을 알리는 경보기능을 추가하여 등부표와 충돌사고를 예방할 수 있게 되어 항로표지서비스의 향상을 도모하게 되었다.

  • The visual discrimination ability of Vespertilio superans was investigated with a male and a female. In a controlled experimental situation (two-choice apparatus), using a vertical bar and a circle of the same area of the bar, it was established that discrimination between different shapes of the same size was impossible. However, with patterns in which the surface areas substantially differed, the bats were able to discriminate between them to a statistically significant degree. Continuing with experiments in which the lightness of the 2 paritems was varied, the disrimination was possible with all but the slightest differences in lightness (a difference of lightness value 2).

  • In this paper, the functional propertied of vibrotactile sense of skin were studied by means of psycophysical experiments with respect to frequency and waveform of mechanical vibration, two-point threshold, contactor size of stimulators. Furthermore, leased on the experimental result, a small vibrotactile stimulator made of piezoelectrc ireed vibrator array was proposed for a aid blind to recognition of the Korean letters. A tactile output image is presented by an 8 row$\times$1 column array of samall vibrator reeds with 200 Hz rectangular wave, the array fitting on a fore-finger. Under the control of the NOVA mini-computer, the bimorph reeds array could represent any of one of the 24 characters of the Korean vowel and consonant at the 8 positions from left to right on the array. Without learning effect, the identification test of the Korean characters by the designed experimental system was carried out. The average rate of correct response was 90%.

A Study on Displaying the Flag for Indicating the Nationality of Ships (선박 국적 표시를 위한 국기 게양에 대한 고찰)

  • Since the past, ships have hoisted national flags as a means of indicating their nationality. Both domestically and internationally, laws and conventions related to the nationality and hoisting of the flag have been enacted because it is significant that the nationality of a ship is a matter of the jurisdiction of the ship. Nevertheless, there are differences in domestic and international regulations related to the hoisting of the flag of a ship, and if the flag is not hoisted irrespective of the intention, there may be a difference in interpretation as to whether or not the ship will be regarded unconditionally as a stateless ship. However, there is no disagreement locally or abroad about the necessity of indicating the nationality of ships. Therefore, I would like to propose a method to indicate and confirm the nationality of the ship by using wireless communication equipment with hoisting the flag as the only way to express its nationality, reflecting the situation of the era such as high-speed, larger and unmanned ship. Representatively, the method utilizes the automatic identification system(AIS), which is one of the equipment legally installed in the ship, and includes the ship's nationality in its information. If the nationality information is included in the AIS, nationality can be identified earlier and even from a distance, and there will not be instances of nationality not being identified because the flag is not hoisted or the flag is damaged. In addition, it is expected that the problem of nationality indication can be solved even when vessels are unmanned in future.
