Application of GMAW Narrow Gap Welding (GMAW Narrow Gap 용접의 적용)

  • NGW(Narrow Gap Welding)는 개선폭이 약 9mm로서 연강 및 저탄소강을 용접할 경우 두께가 300mm까지 1층으로 용접이 가능하다. 따라서 두께가 두꺼운 발전설비, 원자력 설비, 화학 설비 등의 압력용기의 용접에 적합한 용접법이다. 그러나 실제적인 NGW의 적용은 제작자의 친근 감의 결여, 기술 부족 및 복잡성 등의 이유로 아직도 비교적 널리 활용되지 않고 있다. 새로운 type의 GMAW-NG process가 발전되어 오고 잇다. 위와 같은 장점과 단점을 비교해 볼 때 낮은 operating 경비, 높은 joint filling rate, 변형과 잔류 응력의 감소 등으로 세계적인 용접 전 문가들의 계속적인 관심도가 높아지고 사용도도 증가하고 있다. narrow gap welding의 장단점을 요약하면 아래와 같다. 장 점 1) 생산성이 높다. 2) 고품질을 얻을 수 있다. 3) 잔류 응력과 변형을 적게 한다. 4) 전자세 용접이 가능하다. 단 점 1) 용접기의 가격이 비싸다. 2) 용접 품질에 큰 영향을 주는 아아크가 작업 조건에 따라 민감하게 변한다. 3) repair procedure는 다른 용접 방법을 요구한다. 4) 과도한 복잡성 때문에 장비의 신뢰성이 낮다.

  • 데이터 마이닝은 KDD의 분야로서, 의미 있는 정보와 관심 있는 행동 패턴을 추출해 나가는 과정이다. WWW의 발전으로, 웹 데이터가 거대해지고 있다. 이러한 데이터 마이닝 분야에서도, 웹 사용 마이닝의 목적은 의미 있는 사용자 행동 패턴을 찾아내는 것이다. 특히 현재 전자상거래가 널리 활성화되고 있는 환경에서, 사용자의 특성을 발견해내는 것은 매우 중요한 부분이다. 사용자의 특성에 따라 사용자에게 상품을 추천하거나 메일을 보내는 것이나 사용자에게 적절하게 사이트를 구축하는 것이 가능하다. 전처리 과정을 통해서 추출된 트랜잭션 데이터를 모호한 사용자의 요구를 분석할 수 있는 퍼지 집합으로 변형시켜 Fuzzy Association Rule을 통해 분석한다. 그리고 분석된 결과에 대한 규칙을 사용자의 피드백을 통해서 다시 분석하는 과정을 거치게 된다. 사용자의 요구 사항을 적절히 반영할 수 있다.

MHD (Magnetohydrodynamic) Micropump Using Lorentz Force (로렌츠 힘을 이용한 MHD(Magnetohydrodynamic) 마이크로펌프)

  • We present a novel micropump of which pumping mechanism is based upon MHD (Magnetohydrodynamic) principle. The MHD micropump uses Lorentz force as pumping source. In the MHD micropump, Lorentz force is applied into initially stagnant conducting fluid to drive it in magnetic and electric field to flow in both directions. The performance of the MHD micropump is obtained by measuring the pressure head difference and flow rate as applied voltage changes from 10 to 60 V DC at 0.19 and 0.44 Tesla. The pressure head difference is 18 mm at 38 mA and the flow rate is 63 ${\mu}{\ell}$ /min at 1.8 mA when the inside diameter of inlet/outlet tube is 2 mm and the magnetic flux density is 0.44 Tesla.

A Study on Packet Scheduling Algorithm Based on Pricing in HSDPA System (HSDPA 시스템에서 요금 기반의 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a packet scheduling algorithm to maximize the required total price of the systems that is applied with a different traffic pricing criterion by the mobile service operator according to different kinds of the services. The proposed algorithm adopts a particular estimation method in scheduling using the value of pricing function, which is based on the required services and the value of SIR(signal to interference ratio) that indicate the channel condition of each user. We compare Max C/I, proportional fairness and round robin algorithm with the proposed algorithm on HSDPA in order to analyze the performance. The result shows that the proposed algorithm satisfies higher throughput and provides maximum the mobile service provider's revenue.

Numerical Investigation on Capture of Sub-Micron particles in Electrostatic Precipitator without Corona Discharger (코로나 방전기가 없는 전기집진기의 미세입자 집진에 관한 수치해석)

  • This article presents computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of sub-micron particle movements and flow characteristics in laboratory-scale electrostatic precipitator (ESP) without corona discharge, and for simulation, it uses the commercial CFD program (CFD-ACE) including electrostatic theory and Lagrangian-based equation for sub-micron particle movement. For validation of CFD results, a simple cylindrical type of ESP is simulated and numerical prediction shows fairly good agreement with the analytical solution. In particular, the present study investigates the effect of particle diameter, inlet flow rate, and applied electric potential on particle collection efficiency and compares the numerical prediction with the experimental data, showing good agreement. It is found that the particle collection efficiency decreases with increasing inlet flow rate because the particle detention time becomes shorter, whereas it decreases with the increase in sub-micron particle diameter and with the decrease of applied electric voltage resulting from smaller terminal electrostatic velocity.

  • It is a challenging work for service operators to accurately classify different services, which runs on various wireless networks based upon numerous platforms. This works focuses on design and implementation of a classifier, which accurately classifies applications, which are captured horn WiBro Network. Notion of session is introduced for the classifier, instead of commonly used Flow to develop a classifier. Based on session information of given traffic, two classification algorithms are presented, Classification and Regression Tree and Support Vector Machine. Both algorithms are capable of classifying accurately and effectively with misclassification rate of 0.85%, and 0.94%, respectively. This work shows that classifier using CART provides ease of interpreting the result and implementation.

  • Design of location erea(LA) in a cellular network is to partition the network into clusters of cells so as to minimize the cost of location updating and paging. Most research works dealing with the LA design problem assume that the call. arrival rate and mobile flow rate are fixed parameters which can be estimated independently. In this aspect, most Problems addressed so far are deterministic LA design problems(DLADP), known to be NP hard. The mobile flow and call arrival rate are, however, varying with time and should be treated simultaneously because the call arrival rate in a cell during a day is influenced by the change of a population size of the cell. This Paper Presents a new model on IA design problems considering the time-dependent call arrival and mobile flow rate. The new model becomes a stochastic LA design problem(SLADP) because It takes into account the possibility of paging waiting and blocking caused by the changing call arrival rate and finite paging capacity. Un order to obtain the optimal solution of the LA design problem, the SIADP is transformed Into the DLADP by introducing the utilization factor of paging channels and the problem is solved iteratively until the required paging quality is satisfied. Finally, an illustrative example reflecting the metropolitan area, Seoul, is provided and the optimal partitions of a cell structure are presented.

A Study on Implementation of Robot Overlay Welding System Based on OLP for Ball of Ball Valves (볼밸브용 볼의 OLP 기반 로봇육성용접 시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, heat resistant super alloys (which are wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and heat-resistant), have been used as the basic structural material in offshore and petrochemical plants. On the other hand, making valves from very expensive, high heat-resistant alloys increases the production cost and decreases its market competitiveness. To solve these problems, the technique of overlaying only those that flow on the fluid has been used as an effective method. Nevertheless, because the former technique of overlaying the ball is performed manually, it takes too much time and perfect welding is difficult to perform. To solve this problem, this study developed a robot automation system that can make uniformly overlay welding of the ball for ball-valves. The system consists of a 6-axis welding robot with a welding torch and additional 2 axes for the rotation of positioner, the controller, and a robot path OLP (Off-Line Programming). The CAD drawing data was entered in the Off-line program to obtain the robot teaching point and drive source. Overlay welding paths were implemented using Matlab. Through an automated overlaying system that implemented the OLP, the productivity rose 2.58 times, as the amount of time required for work decreased from 88 hours to 41 hours.
