This research is to anticipate problems of Ray's disabled experiment welfare vehicles for 17 drivers with disability, improving them. In addition it is to provide the criteria for ergonomic design based on perspective of drivers with disability by investigating 18 items of usability test. The results are as follows. First, satisfaction degree of Ray, disabled experiment welfare vehicle, was shown to be 3.88 which is higher than normal vehicles whose degree is 3.20. This showed that the disabled experiment welfare vehicle is the one with much improvement. Second, so as to develop a welfare vehicle it needs to take into account some factors including rear slope, wheelchair locker, seat belt, safety grip, and high roof. Third, in case of rear slope, high roof and width of manual or automatic wheel chairs should be considered and motor-operated device should also be taken into account for safety lockers, which make a wheelchair firmly fixed. Moreover, motor-operated seat and rear slope can be chosen for either of the disabled and the elderly.

This study is to suggest necessary improvements of inconvenient elements as well as the ergonomic design standard to develop disabled cars by evaluating the types of needs and observing the behavior characteristics on their car use and the survey on the complaints of the disabled drivers and their guardians in the use of disabled car. The results of this study are as follows. First, both the disabled drivers and their guardians are found to feel high inconvenience and low satisfaction with the cars they use now. Second, the disabled owner-drivers also answered in a same way as guardians. They find the most difficulty in moving the supporting equipment to get into and out of a car. Both the owner-drivers with disabilities and guardians complained of lack of handiness they face when they wear the seat belts and sitting on the seats. In view of this, a disabled car to be developed should have ergonomic design for its seats and the safety of the seatbelt as well as trouble-free supporting equipment helping them move. Third, rather than owner-drivers with handicaps, guardians expressed more difficulties and less contentment with the cars for the disabled, which is reckoned to lead to the changes of perspectives on development of cars for the disabled breaking away from existing viewpoints focusing on the accessibility to the vehicles. Fourth, both owner-drivers and guardians showed higher interests in driving and other safety and convenience measures than in using supporting equipment to get into and out of vehicles, implying that rather than the accessibility to get into and out of a car, convenience should primarily be taken into account for the design of the disabled car. Fifth, the auto-manufacturer is to give prior thought to user convenience when developing a car in practice. For this, the developer may have the disabled car users join the process of development as well as asking experts for help and participation.

본 연구는 가정용 게임기를 이용한 재활 운동을 적용하여 뇌졸중 장애인의 보행능력에 효과가 있는 가를 알아보고자 하였다. 뇌졸중으로 6개월 이상 장애를 가진 32명이 연구에 참여하였고 게임운동군 16명과 대조군 16명으로 나누었다. 게임운동군은 가정용 게임기(PS2, sony)를 이용하여 1시간씩 주 3회, 6주간 실시하였다. 대조군은 운동의 적용 없이 평상시 생활을 유지하도록 하였다. 운동 전과 후에 보행능력을 측정하여 효과를 비교하였다. 통계처리 방법으로 전 후 차이를 검증하기 위하여 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였고 대조군과의 차이 검증을 위하여 독립표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 모든 통계적 유의 수준은 0.05로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과 보행능력에서 10m 보행속도가 유의하게 증가하였고(p<.05), 6분 보행거리도 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.05). 결론적으로 가정용 게임기를 이용한 재활운동이 뇌졸중 장애인의 보행능력에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 뇌졸중 장애인에게 흥미를 유발하고 기능회복의 효과를 가진 게임형태의 재활운동이 다양하게 개발되어 적용하는 연구가 필요하다고 생각한다.

인간의 인간다운 삶의 영위를 강조하는 교회의 이념을 실현하기 위하여 일찌기 우리교회는 장애자복지사업에 힘써왔다. 10월에 있을 「88서울장애자올림픽」을 앞두고 지난 9월에 열린 「한국가톨릭장애자신앙대회」는 장애자들에게 자신감을 심어주고 사회적인 인식을 높히기 위해 교회안에서 처음 시도된 큰 행사였다. 이 신앙대회는 정상인과 장애인 모두가 하느님에 동등한 인격자라는 인식 아래 사회가 이들이 원하는 바를 이해하고 수용하여 서로 협조해야 한다는 인식을 새롭게 하고 이해를 높이는 좋은 계기가 됐다고 본다. 이글은 (사)한국장애자재활협회발행 강세윤 교수 편저 「장애예방 및 치료」중에서 그 일부를 소개한다. 장애자복지증진에 동참하는 모든 분들께 다소나마 도움이 되기를 바란다.-편집자 주-

Objective : This study aimed to investigate the awareness and experience of community-based dysphagia therapy and related education in community-dwelling older adults. Methods : A total of 89 older adults were recruited from a public health center in Gyeonggi-do. Awareness, experience, and related education regarding community-based dysphagia therapy were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results : We analyzed 89 questionnaires. Awareness, treatment experience, and education regarding dysphagia were low; however, the importance and intention to participate were high. Respondents wanted education about proper chewing and safe swallowing, oral health, oral motor exercise, and participation in community-based dysphagia programs in public health centers. The reason for the lack of experience in dysphagia education and therapy is insufficient information and opportunities. The respondents had a good understanding of dysphagia symptoms. Conclusion : Dysphagia therapy maintains swallowing and eating functions as a life-long Activity of Daily Living, and is a very important area in community rehabilitation. Based on the results of this survey, the necessity and importance of community-based dysphagia were identified. It is time to provide correct information and develop a systematic education program for community-based dysphagia therapy. Occupational therapists need to play an active role in improving quality of life by early detection and providing proper intervention.

This study is to explore experience on the inter-organizational linkages for vocational rehabilitation of people with psychiatric disabilities and to find out predictors affecting the linkages. This study used triangulation a way as to combine the advantages of both the qualitative and the quantitative approach. The qualitative approach is based on grounded theory by Strauss & Cobin. The quantitative research used the samples of 122 organizations, and was analyzed by multiple regression & logistic regression. The results are as follows. First, as results of in-depth interview, interviewees perceived linkage experience as 'turning the eyes on the other organization in community', namely 'the pursue of collaboration'. This concept is classified four types: initiative, cooperative, authoritative and passive type. Second, according to Tobin(1986)'s five phase of the closeness of inter-organizational linkages, our linkages were found to be in third phase, "coordination". Finally, predictors of the attempt of having linkages & linkage strengthening were analyzed by logistic regression & multiple regression. 'The experience of professional training on people with psychiatric disabilities' and 'the resource dependency' have statistically significant relation with the attempt to have linkages. 'The length of current service', 'the experience of professional training on people with psychiatric disabilities', and 'recognition about other organizational activities' are significantly related to strengthening linkage. Based on the results of this study, alternatives for promoting inter-organization linkages for vocational rehabilitation of people with psychiatric disabilities were proposed.

The objective of this paper is to develop the motion recognition method for the rehabilitation program of the people with physical disabilities. Using the infrared ray LED, this method gets the information of the user's motion and tells the difference between the information we get and the pre-defined information. In order to get the fast recognition and comparison, this method positions the specific coordinates of infrared ray LED in the pre-classified sector which keeps certain distance and angle from the point of origin. The result in our experiment shows the speed over 20 frames per second in every motion, and we are satisfied the rate for the recognition of the motions which is near 98%.

Purpose: This paper was to review the concept of rehabilitation sports for the disabled. Method: This paper was reviewed related papers published by KODDI(Korea Disabled People's Development Institute) concerning rehabilitation sports. Result: Rehabilitation sports that is integration of rehabilitation therapy and sports, was introduced in the U.K. during the World War I for the people wounded in the war. Since then, it was introduced into Germany for the wounded and disabled, and institutionalized in public health insurance program since 1960s. The present day, rehabilitation sports in Germany has been affected on promotion of physical, psychological, and social function and is being considered an importance field of sports and rehabilitation therapy for the disabled. Now, in our country, research is being carried out to introduce rehabilitation sports for the people with disabilities.

The purpose of the study was to verify the clinical effect of Computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program for Children for recovering the visual perception and ADL ability in intellectual disability. For this purpose, 3 intellectual disabilities with visual perception and ADL disorders participated in a clinical experiment to verify the effect of Computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program. They all have 5 common conditions in intellectual disability for objective experimental result. All participant were evaluated with Korean-Development Test of Visual Perception-2(K-DTVP-2), Wee Functional Independence Measure(Wee-FIM) before and after the planned intervention sessions. All intervensions were intensively carried out for 20weeks, 1 time a week. The result were as follows. K-DTVP and Wee-FIM scores were improved significantly compared to pre-intervention. Further studies are needed to verify the effect on various group and lots of participants.

4월 20일은 장애인의 날이다. 장애인의 날은 장애인에 대한 국민의 이해를 깊게 하고, 장애인의 재활의욕을 높이기 위해 제정됐다. 인쇄인중에도 장애를 갖고 있지만 그 어떤 인쇄인보다 활발한 활동을 하고 있는 인쇄인이 있다. 바로 김현덕 경기첨단인쇄디자인센터 대표이사다.
