The Effect of Logistics Service Quality by the Role of Carriers on Long Term Orientation In Buyer-Supplier Partnership (공급사슬 파트너십에서 수송이 물류서비스 품질과 장기지향성에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper investigated the role of transportation in increasing logistics service quality and effect of logistics service quality on the long term orientation of the supply chain partnership. Four primary dimensions were identified through a comprehensive literature review. The common dimensions included information sharing, the sharing of risks and rewards, cooperative continuous improvements on cost reductions and increased quality. The results of the data analysis indicated that transportation were perceived to play an important role in logistics service quality that effecting on the long term orientation. This provides useful insight for making further conclusions concerning the actual roles of transportation within partnerships.

Estimation and utilization of transport LPG demand function (수송용 LPG 수요함수의 추정 및 활용)

  • This paper attempts to estimate the demand function for the transport LPG and to analyze long-run and short-run price and income elasticities. In addition, the paper measures consumer surplus and economic value ensuing from the transport LPG consumption by utilizing the estimated long-run price elasticity. The price and the income data are the monthly real transport LPG price and the monthly composite index adjusted by real transport LPG price from 2003 to 2012. Unit root test, co-integration test and error correction model are to take the procedure of estimation of demand curve. The demand for transport LPG is considered to be inelastic and the long-run demand is more elasticity than that of short-run. Price elasticity of demand estimate here is -0.422, and the estimated consumer surplus and economic value in 2010/03 are 966 and 1,781 billion won, respectively.

Management Planning of Gondola Cars through Efficiency Analysis (효율성 분석을 통한 무개차 운용 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the demand for rail freight has gradually decreased. In particular, the demand in Korea for open freight cars, which classification includes gondola cars, hopper cars and gravel cars has been significantly reduced. The role of gondola cars in the rail transportation market shrank to 14.5% in 2010 from 23.3% in 2001. The transportation demand of gondola cars in the long term is expected to be reduced further. Because some gondola cars have been converted to container cars and various containers are being developed to transport bulk cargo by container cars. However, gondola cars still play an important role in rail freight transport. Therefore, the management planning of gondola cars is needed in order to prepare for the long-term declining demand. In this study, we propose a future direction for the management planning of gondola cars through the effectiveness analysis of gondola cars operation.

Study of the temperature container system for a live fish transportation (활어수송용 저온 컨테이너 시스템 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to manufacture the low temperature waterless container that is compact and low cost for a live fish transportation. Using the low temperature water container, it makes observations on the optimal conditions such as the amount of dissolved oxygen, total ammonia and nitrite in seawater for determining the survival rate of live fish in short and long-term transportation. Using a sole as a live fish, the temperatures of $0^{\circ}C$, 3$^{\circ}C$, 5$^{\circ}C$, 7$^{\circ}C$, 15$^{\circ}C$ were controled for there effects. The results of this investigation show that as the seawater temperature increased, the amount of oxygen decreased and there was a low temperature shock below 3$^{\circ}C$. It was observed that the fish was died with 30$m\ell/\ell$of ammonia. The optimal temperature is about 5$^{\circ}C$ for live fish transportation to maintain best survival rate.
