A Study on the SNR Margin Performance of Digital Subscriber Line in Complex Noises Environment (복합 잡음환경에서 디지털 가입자 회선의 SNR 마진 성능에 관한 연구)

  • DSL(digital subscriber line) transceiver designers have concerned the impulsive noise as well as NEXT(near-end crosstalk) and FEXT(far-end crosstalk) immunities Down as the strongest sources that limit the DSL channel capacity. In these noise environment the analysis on the performance of DSL should be needed. Therefore, in this paper we have estimated and simulated the SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) margin of DMT(discrete multi-tone) signal in Gauss, NEXT, FEXT and impulse noise environment by modeling an Middleton's Class A impulse signal with the test Cook pulses. As a result, it is known that the transmission rate of uplink is limited by noise characteristics rather than by loop length, but that of downlink limited complexly by both of noise characteristics and loop length. In conclusion, these results will be utilized as the threshold of ADSL performance in the complex noise environment including impulse noise.

  • With the development of IoT technology, image processing is being utilized in various fields such as image analysis, image recognition, medical industry, and factory automation. Noise is generated in image data from causes such as defect in transmission line. Image noise must be removed because it damages the performance of the image processing application program. Salt and Pepper noise is a representative type of image noise, and various studies have been conducted to remove Salt and Pepper noise. Widely known methods include A-TMF, AFMF, and SDWF. However, as the noise density increases, the performance deteriorates. Thus, this paper proposes an algorithm that performs filtering using a fuzzy logic weight mask only in case of noise after noise determination. In order to prove the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, an experiment was performed on images with 10% to 90% noise added and the PSNR was compared.

  • The system performance of 2-Dimensional wavelength hopping/time spreading optical CDMA systems is found to be limited by the occurrence of the beat noise between the components of the signal and the multiple user interference. This paper shows that the performance is analyzed under the beat noise and no beat noise to blow impact of the beat noise. To overcome this problem, the OHL(Optical Hard-Limiter) is used in the receiver. The performance is calculated for a optical CDMA system employing asymmetric and symmetric prime-hop 2-Dimensional codes, respectively The analysis results show that the performance improved 3.5 times of simultaneous users of before and after inserting OHL in the case of no beat noise. In the case of beat noise the performance improved 1.5 times of simultaneous users of before and after inserting OHL. The performance marked use of symmetric prime-hop code.

  • In this paper, we analyze the BER performance of OFDM/QPSK system in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel with impulsive noise and improve its performance by adopting convolutional coding. When the channel delay time is shorter than the guard band, the OFDM/QPSK system shows a good BER performance while, when the channel delay time becomes longer than the guard band, its BER performance is abruptly degraded. Moreover, when the transmitted signal is contaminated by a strong impulsive noise in the channel, the BER performance falls to about $10^{-1}$. Also, without channel coding technique, the system doesn't meet even the voice service requirement while it meets the data service requirement with convolutional coding in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel with impulsive noise.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of MC-CDMA systems under indoor wireless environment with class A impulsive noise suggested by Middleton. For the performance evaluation, we considered from strong to weak impulsive noise characteristics. And we have evaluated the degree of performance improvement by using turbo code as a compensation technique to impulsive noise. From the result of analysis, it is found powerful performance improvement scheme must be adopted in the system under impulsive noise environment, and when turbo code scheme is adopted, system BER performance is improved by the $10^{-2}$. As the impulsive noise characteristics approaches AWGN characteristics, the degree of performance improvement by adopting turbo code become larger.

  • 본 논문에서는 서브밴드 및 전 대역(full band)으로부터 얻은 특징 벡터를 함께 사용하여 잡음 환경에서 음성인식 시스템의 성능을 향상시키는 방법을 제안하였다. 이는 인식시 잡음에 오염된 대역에서 얻은 특징 벡터를 제거하는데 따른 정보 손실을 막기 위해 전 대역으로부터 얻은 특징 벡터를 함께 이용하며 신호 대 잡음비가 높은 대역을 강조하여 각 모델에 대한 확률 값을 계산한다. 전화망에서 수집된 데이터베이스를 이용하여 인식 실험을 수행한 결과 비교적 넓은 주파수 대역에 걸쳐 분포된 잡음의 경우에도 인식 성능을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

  • Though speaker recognition based on conventional AR HMM shows good performance, its lack of modeling the environmental noise makes its performance degraded in case of practical noisy environment. In this paper, a robust speaker recognition system based on AR HMM is proposed, where noise is considered in the observation signal model for practical noisy environment and duration-term is considered to increase performance. Experimental results, using the digits database from 100 speakers (77 males and 23 females) under white noise and car noise, show improved performance.

  • The SAMED filter is introduced as a wide class of multi-stage filters which encompass linear FIR and nonlinear order statistic filters. The output of SAMED filter is linear combination of sub-median outputs. In this paper, optimal SAMED filter is designed for images corrupted by various noise, and performance is analogized. The experimental result shows that the efficiency of each order of SAMED filters is depends on type of noise. It is shown that low order filters are effective in Gaussian environments but high order filters are effective in impulsive case. This result may be used to follow-up research on successive SAMED filters.

  • 음성향상기법은 음성에 포함된 잡음이나 잔향을 제거하는 기술로써 마이크로폰으로 입력된 음성신호는 잡음이나 잔향에 의해 왜곡되어지므로 음성인식, 음성통신 등의 음성신호처리 기술의 핵심 기술이다. 이전에는 음성신호와 잡음신호 사이의 통계적 정보를 이용하는 통계모델 기반의 음성향상기법이 주로 사용되었으나 통계 모델 기반의 음성향상기술은 정상 잡음 환경과는 달리 비정상 잡음 환경에서 성능이 크게 저하되는 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 최근 머신러닝 기법인 심화신경망 (DNN, deep neural network)이 도입되어 음성 향상 기법에서 우수한 성능을 내고 있다. 심화신경망을 이용한 음성 향상 기법은 다수의 은닉 층과 은닉 노드들을 통하여 잡음이 존재하는 음성 신호와 잡음이 존재하지 않는 깨끗한 음성 신호 사이의 비선형적인 관계를 잘 모델링하였다. 이러한 심화신경망 기반의 음성향상기법을 향상 시킬 수 있는 방법 중 하나인 강화학습을 적용하여 기존 심화신경망 대비 성능을 향상시켰다. 강화학습이란 대표적으로 구글의 알파고에 적용된 기술로써 특정 state에서 최고의 reward를 받기 위해 어떠한 policy를 통한 action을 취해서 다음 state로 나아갈지를 매우 많은 경우에 대해 학습을 통해 최적의 action을 선택할 수 있도록 학습하는 방법을 말한다. 본 논문에서는 composite measure를 기반으로 reward를 설계하여 기존 PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) 기반의 reward를 설계한 기술 대비 음성인식 성능을 높였다.
