In the case of a patient with a small number of unilateral remaining teeth in the mandible, a restoration with conventional removable partial denture cannot provide sufficient retention and resistance. A harmful stress from the poor stability of denture on remaining teeth occurs due to alveolar bone resorption in edentulous area. Although implant fixed prosthesis can provide multiple benefits over conventional removable partial denture, there are limitations come from anatomic structures and costs. In this case, an implant-assisted removable partial denture (IARPD) with a couple of implants placed in strategic positions can be a treatment modality. The objective of this article is to present a case report of two patients showed satisfactory clinical outcomes during three-year follow-up period describing the fabrication and advantages of removable partial denture assisted by teeth and implants (IARPD) for a patient with a small number of unilateral remaining teeth in mandible using Locator as an implant attachment.

In the case of a patients who have lost the centric stop and have a staggered occlusion of the residual teeth, various movements occur when the denture is loaded. Implant placement is necessary to reinforce the retention, support, and stabilization elements to reduce denture movement. However, in this case, considering the patient's age, aversion to surgery, and bone loss, implants were not placed and restoration was performed with a removable partial denture. In this case, it is important to set the correct mandibular position for restoration because the patient has a habit of chewing with the remaining teeth. In this case, a stable mandibular position was established using a gothic arch tracing, and good results were obtained by restoring with partial dentures, so this is reported.

The subjects in this study were 281 elderly people in some regions. After they were respectively interviewed, the following findings were given: The group of elderly people who brushed their teeth three times or more and who did toothbrushing in an arbitrary way were more concerned about oral health, and the gap between them and the others (p<.05). The group who paid a regular visit to dental clinics had more interest in oral health than the other (p<.01). The group who brushed their teeth in an arbitrary way had more remaining teeth, and the gap between them and the others(p<.05). The group who did toothbrushing for about two minutes had more remaining teeth, and more edentulous jaws were found in the group who brushed their teeth once (p<.01). The group who did toothbrushing three times or more scored higher in oral health knowledge, and the gap between them and the others(p<.01). And the group who paid a regular visit to dental clinics scored higher in oral health knowledge, and the gap between them and the other (p<.01). In the future, the development of a wide variety of oral health programs and prolonged oral health education are both required. Diverse oral health programs and education are expected to stir up elderly people's interest in oral health, to improve their oral health knowledge and to give a positive change to their oral health behavior.

In removable dental prostheses, it is important to minimize impairment of residual tissue caused by wearing dentures. There are two factors that harm residual tissue. The first is functional load bearing of remaining teeth and alveolar ridges and the second is the effect of poor oral hygiene. Double crown retained removable dental prostheses provide rigid support, and it may reduce impairment caused by load bearing of alveolar ridges. Also, dental plaque and oral deposits, which are attached to outer crowns and dentures, can be easily managed extra-orally. In addition, it is beneficial to the health of the marginal gingiva because inner crowns have easy access for oral hygiene. In this case, double crown retained removable dental prostheses were used for the partially edentulous patient with severe residual alveolar bone resorption and poor oral hygiene, and the result was clinically satisfactory in terms of functional, esthetical, and oral hygiene aspects.

기존 2차 전지 내부저항 측정 또는 잔존 용량 측정 등의 2차전지의 수명을 예측 방법들이 있으나 이 방법은 여러 가지 사용 환경에 따른 측정 오류 발생으로 의해 잔존 수명 예측을 정확하게 판단하기는 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문은 2치전지의 전해액 비중을 이용한 수명 예측 알고리즘을 개발하고 LabVIEW프로그램을 활용한 2차 전지 상태 감시와 잔존 수명을 예측하는 프로그램을 제작하여, 2차 전지의 상태와 교체 시점에 대한 신뢰도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

In the case of the impacted teeth, the clinician has to consider development of tooth, site of impaction, eruption path, and cooperation of patient. Treatment options for the management of impacted teeth are separated into four categories: observation, intervention, orthodontic or surgical relocation and extraction. Autotransplantation may be defined as the transplantation of embedded, impacted or erupted teeth, from one site to another in the same individual into extraction site or surgically prepared sockets. Autotransplantation ensures preservation of natural tooth, induction of alveolar bone growth and root development, offers one of the fastest and most economically feasible means in the replacement of young patients' missing teeth. This case presents a malpositioned impacted mandibular premolar of an 11-year-old girl. It was thought that orthodontic traction was difficult because of its unfavorable impacted position. Therefore the tooth was treated by autotransplantation, we can observe good healing pattern during 12 months.

Successful cases of the implant-assisted removable partial denture and implant overdentures are reported in which a few implants are additionally placed to secure the maintenance, support, and stability of the denture when there are a few residual teeth. When the lateral force applied to the tooth abutment and implant surveyed crown is minimized, the horizontal and rotational movement of the denture is significantly reduced which is an effective method that can improve the address in patients who complain of reduced retention and stability of their dentures. In this case, a small number of implants were placed to fabricate an implant-assisted removable partial denture with implant surveyed crown in the maxilla and implant overdenture with Locator^® attachment in the mandible to improve the retention, stability, and support of the dentures. The patient was satisfied with both functional and aesthetic aspects after the final dentures were delivered.
