A Study on the Analysis of Residual Stress in Weldment by Considering the Phase Transformation of Carbon Steel (상변태를 고려한 탄소강 용접부의 잔류응력 해석에 관한 연구)

  • Welding process generates distortion and residual stress in the weldment due to rapid heating and cooling. Welding distortion and residual stress in the welded structure result in many troubles such as dimensional inaccuracies in assembling and safety problem during service. The accurate prediction of welding residual stress is thus very important to improve the quality of weldment and find the way to reduce itself. This paper suggests new analysis method to predict welding residual stress by considering solid phase transformation during welding process. Using the method, analysis is performed for medium and low carbon steel. The analysis result for medium carbon steel reveals that case considering phase transformation has compressive residual stress in contrast with the case neglecting phase transformation because of martensite formation. However, for the case of low carbon steel, residual stress shows little difference between the case considering phase transformation and the other case, because it has small transformation strain and recovers rapidly stress after phase transformation.

  • Thermal behavior of residue and damaged layer formed by reactive ion etching (RIE) in $CHF_3/C_2F_6$ were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and secondary ion mass spec-trometry(SIMS) techniques. Decomposition of polymer residue film begins at $200^{\circ}C$ and above $400^{\circ}C$ carbon compound as graphite mainly forms by in-situ resistive heating. It reveals that thermal decomposition of residue can be completed by rapid thermal anneal treatment above $800^{\circ}C$ under nitrogen atmosphere and out-diffusion of carbon and fluorine of damaged layer is observed.

  • 3.9%C-2.0%Si-Fe 조성의 압분체(壓粉體)를 $1350^{\circ}$, Ar가스 분위기에서 50분간 용해한 용탕에 시판(市販) misch metal과 misch metal hydride인 MmH와 $MmH_2$를 각각 여러비율로 첨가(添加)한후 서냉(徐冷)및 급냉(急冷)한 시편의 흑연형상(黑鉛形狀)의 변화로부터 misch metal hydride의 구상화능(球狀化能)과 흑연구상화(黑鉛球狀化) 기구(機構) 로서의 기포설(氣泡說)의 타당성을 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) Misch metal은 0.5% 이상, 그리고 misch metal hydride는 0.25% 이상 첨가한 때 구상흑연(球狀黑鉛)과 CV 흑연(黑鉛)이 나타났으며, misch metal hydride를 첨가한 때가 misch metal에 비하여 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 더 많았다. 이와같이 misch metal hydride의 첨가량이 misch metal에 비하여 적었음에도 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 더 많은 것을 보면 Mm으로부터 방출되는 다수(多數)의 수소기포(水素氣泡)가 구상흑연(球狀黑鉛)의 정출장소로 되는 것으로 해석되기 때문에 기포설(氣泡說)이 타당하다고 생각된다. 2) Misch metal 과 misch metal hydride의 첨가량(添加量)이 1.0%로 증가되면 두경우 모두 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 감소하였다. 이는 용탕중에 개재된 수소기포(水素氣泡)의 실수율차이에 의한 잔류 수소기포수의 증가율둔화와 첨가량(添加量)의 증가에 따른 잔류 misch metal량의 상대적(相對的) 증가로 인한 다량의 잔류 misch metal이 응고과정에서 수소를 재흡수 용해하여 흑연입수를 결정하는 용탕중의 유효수소기포수(有效水素氣泡數)를 감소시켰기 때문으로 생각된다.

Prediction of Cutting Stress by 2D and 3D-FEM Analysis and Its Accuracy (2차원과 3차원 FEM 해석에 의한 절단응력의 해석 및 정도)

  • Steel bridges, which have been damaged by load and corrosion, need repair or strengthening. In general, before the repair welding procedure, cutting procedure carry out. Therefore, the investigating of the behavior of stress generated by cutting is so important for safety of structure. Residual stress produced by gas cutting was analyzed using 2D and 3D thermal elasto plastic FEM. According to the results, the magnitude of temperature was analyzed by 2D FEM is smaller than that was analyzed using the 3D FEM program at the start and end edge of flange. And the magnitude and distribution of residual stress of perpendicular to the cutting line was analyzed by the 2D FEM program was similar to that was analyzed by the 3D FEM program. Therefore, it is possible to predict of cutting stress by 2D and 3D FEM.

  • The effects of $SiO_2$ reactive ion etching (RIE) in $CHF_{3/}C_2F_6$ on the surface properties of the underlying Si substrate were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS) techniques. Angle-resolved XPS analysis was carried out as non-destructive depth profile one for investigating the chemical bonding states of silicion, carbon, oxygen and fluorine. The residue layer consists of C-F polymer. O-F bond was found on the top of the polymer layer and Si-O, Si-C and Si-F bonds were detected between Si substrate and polymer film. A 60nm thick damaged layer of silicon surface mainly contains carbon and fluorine.

  • A static headspace gas chromatographic (HSGC) technique was used to quantify toluene and other solvents (methanol, isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone and ethyl acetate) in food packaging films. Comparison of retention times and coefficient variations for standard solvents showed consistent retention time and good reproducibility. Therefore, this method using static HSGC proved to be superior in rapidity and reproducibility, and is thought to be adaptable to analysis of a large number of samples. The methanol content was $N.D.\;(not\;detected){\sim}0.939\;mg/m^2$, toluene $N.D.{\sim}1.403\;mg/m^2$, melthyl ethyl ketone $N.D.{\sim}0.932\;mg/m^2$, total solvent content was $N.D.{\sim}2.433\;mg/m^2$.

  • water cavitation peening(WCP)은 water jet 과정으로 인한 cavitation이 발생할 때, 금속표면 cavitation 현상에 의해 재료표면의 잔류응력과 경도 등의 물성을 변화시키게 되며, 그로 인해 생긴 잔류 응력으로 재료의 내구성 및 수명을 향상시키는 기술이다. 최근에는 water jet을 이용한 장치들이 건설 분야, 일반기계분야, 컷팅 공정, 분쇄 등 다양한 분야에서도 사용되고있다. 그러나 water jet을 이용한 peening은 소개 된지 20여년이 경과했음에도 불구하고 연구 및 개발 내용은 shot peening에 비해 아직 초기 단계이다. water cavitation peening은 기존의 피닝 방법의 단점을 보완 할 뿐만 아니라 환경적인 측면에서도 그 가치가 크다. 아직은 다른 peening 기법 보다 잔류압축응력 부가 측면에서 그 효과가 떨어지지만, water cavitation peening은 열에 영향을 받는 영역이 생성되지 않으며, 기계의 표면 가공을 하는 동안 어떤 미세한 먼지도 생성하지 않아 친환경적이다. 또한 복잡한 외형을 가지는 부품 및 내면에 적용성이 뛰어나고, 표면 정밀도 저하가 낮다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 조류발전용 블레이드의 재료로 사용하려는 동합금에 대하여 증류수 내에서 water cavitation peening 시간, 거리, 파형 등의 변수를 적용하여 최적 조건을 찾고, 다양한 전기화학적 실험을 실시하였으며, water cavitation peening 부의 부식특성을 평가 하였다. ASTM-G32 규정에 의거하여 압전효과를 용한 진동발생 장치(RB 111-CE)를 이용하여 동합금 표면에 water cavitation peening을 실시하고, 실험 후 표면의 손상거동을 관찰하기 위하여 3D현미경 및 전자주사현미경(SEM)을 사용하였다. 물성치 변화를 확인하기 위하여 SHIMADZU사의 HVM-2 Model의 비커스 경도기를 이용하여 표면 경도값을 측정하였다. 전기화학실험은 각 3회 이상 실시하였으며, Tafel 분석결과로 부식전류밀도와 부식전위의 평균, 부식전위를 알 수 있었고, 음분극 실험결과, 용존산소 환원반응에 의한 농도분극에서 수소가스발생에 의한 활성화 분극으로 진행되는 변곡점을 확일 할 수 있었다.

Development and Validation of Analytical Methods for Picoxystrobin Determination in Agricultural Products by GC-ECD and GC-MS

  • A simple and sensitive analytical method was developed using gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC-ECD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for determination of Picoxystrobin in agricultural products (apple, hulled rice, mushroom, pepper, soybean, and mandarin). Picoxystrobin residues were extracted with acetonitrile, partitioned with saline water, and then they were cleaned up on a florisil solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge to obtain an extract suitable for analysis by GC-ECD and GC-MS. The method was validated using 6 agricultural product samples spiked with Picoxystrobin at different concentration levels (0.02, 0.05 and 0.5 mg/L). Average recoveries of Picoxystrobin (using each concentration three replicates) ranged 64.0~98.3% with relative standard deviations less than 10%, calibration solutions concentration in the range 0.1~5 mg/L, and limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.005 and 0.02 mg/L, respectively. The result showed that the developed analytical method is suitable for Picoxystrobin determination in agricultural products.

Proficiency Testing for the Gas-chromatographic Analysis of Procymidone, Chlorpyrifos and Metolachlor Residues in Soil (가스크로마토그래피를 이용한 토양 중 프로사이미돈과 클로르피리포스, 메톨라클로르의 잔류분석 숙련도시험)

  • The proficiency testing for the residue laboratories of pesticide registration was conducted in order to improve the reliability and the ability for pesticide residue analysis. On October 2011 the testing was carried out using the soil collected and kept as the moistened state for five years, which is expected to very low residue levels of pesticides. The soil was fortified with chlorpyrifos, metolachlor and procymidone in a manner similar to prepare soil sample for indoor soil degradation test, and then sub-samples were prepared for the distribution to participants. Some of them were randomly selected for confirm of homogeneity and to ensure the stability of samples at room temperature. Samples were consisted of two soil treated as different levels, one of which was used to the assesment and another used to confirm. In addition, provide three standard solutions, respectively concentration of 10 mg/L, and untreated soil. Forty seven institutions submitted results. The medians of results were used as the assigned values for pesticide residues. Fitness for purpose standard deviation of proficiency test was calculated by applying 20% RSD as the coefficient of variation allowed in the soil residue test. Z-score was applied for evaluation of individual pesticides, and the average of the absolute value of the Z-score for the overall assessment of pesticides. Laboratories evaluated the absolute value of the Z-score less than 2 to fit the case of chlorpyrifos and procymidone were 44, metolachlor 40.

Effect of Residual Chloride Ion on Thermal Decomposition Behaviour os Stannic Acid and Physical Properties of $SnO_2$ Powder Fabricated for Gas Sensor (가스센서용 $SnO_2$분말 제조시 잔류 염소이온이 Sn수화물의 열분해거동 및 분말물성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of residual chloride on thermal decomposition behaviour of a-stannic acid and physical properties of $SnO_{2}$ powder were observed. The powder was fabricated by hydroxide method; $\alpha$-stannic acid was precipitated by mixing acqueous solutions of $SnCl_{4}$ and $NH_{4}$OH . The precipitate was washed with $NH_{4}NO_{3}$ solution while washing was controlled to be of three grades to modify its residual chloride content. The precipitate was dried at $1100^{\circ}C$ ~ 24h and calcined in air at $500^{\circ}C$ ~ $1100^{\circ}C$ for one hour. Thermal decomposition behaviour of $\alpha$-stannic acid was examined by a DT-TGA and a FTIR. Chemical composition and physical properties of $SnO_{2}$ powder were observed by an AES, a BET and a TEM, respectively. With a reduction in chloride content, the relative crystallite size of $SnO_{2}$ powder slightly increased by a low-temperature-calcining. However, at a high calcining temperature(T), the reverse relation occured. It was suggested that chloride ion replaces part of lattice oxygen site of a-stannic acid. Also, chloride ion on the site was suggested to retard de-hydration as well as crystalization at a low T while to promote crystal growth of $SnO_{2}$ by forming oxygen vacancy at a high T.
