Structural and Magnetic Properties of Fe-Si-C Alloys with Processing Times (Fe-Si-C 합금의 합금화 과정에 따른 구조 및 자기적 특성 변화 연구)

  • Fe-Si-C alloy system has been made by mechancial alloying process. The structural and magnetic properties were analysed as a function of processing times. The structural properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction and EXAFS experiments. The magnetic properties were measured by vibrating sample magnetometer and M ssbauer spectroscopy. As processing time increases, Si and C atoms diffuse into a ${\alpha}$-Fe structure and then bcc solid solution is formed after 12 hours of the processing time. The magnetization and the hyper fine field decreased steeply up to 4 hours and then it changed slowly. After 12 hours of the processing time, it almost saturated. These results were agreed with the structural variation.

A Study on the Effect of Reducing the Saturation Magnetization by Substituting the Non magnetic Ion in Mg Mn Ferrites (Mg-Mn훼라이트의 비자성 이온첨가에 의한 포화자화 감소효과)

  • The reduction of saturation magnetization in the Mg-Mn microwave ferrites was achieved by substituting the non-magnetic A1 ion for Fe ion. It is necessary for extending the operation frequencies that there is no change in other properties of the microwave ferrites. The electrical and magnetic properties are characterized where the composition of the ferrites studied was given by the general formula $(MgO)_{1.0}(MnO)_{0.1}(Al_xFe_{1.9-x}O_{2.85}$ with x ranging from 0.1 to 0.4. The saturation magnetization and the ferromagnetic resonance linewidth was decreased by the substituting amount of $Al_2O_3$. The value of coercive field was low enough over the composition of x=O.2 and the high squareness ratio was obtained all over the amount of substitution. It is feasible to select the proper application area with the combination of various properties ; that is, low coercive field, high squareness ratio, optimum saturation magnetization and ferromagnetic resonance linewidth.

  • Iron nitride (Fe-N) magnetic thin films were deposited using a DC magnetron sputtering system. Microstructures and magnetic properties were examined as a function of deposition power and nitrogen gas input ratio. The nitrogen content in the film was found to be the major factor determining the microstructure and the magnetic properties. The films deposited at low nitrogen input ratios have an $\alpha$-Fe structure of which the lattice is expanded due to the nitrogen atoms incorporated at the interstitial sites. As the nitrogen content in the film increases, the degree of lat-tice expansion increases and the value of saturation magnetization decreases linearly. The films with a high degree of lattice expansion give very low values of coercivity, which is attributed to the disturbance of colunmar growth and the decrease of surface roughness. Further increase in the nitrogen input ratio causes the phase transfonnation from $\alpha$-Fe to $Fe_{2-3}N$, resulting in the marked reduction in the saturation magnetization. The phase transformation occurs when, regardless of deposition conditions, the nitrogen content reaches at 15 at.% and the lattice is expanded by 5%.

  • Effects of Co addition and heat treatment on the magnetic properties of Fe-Si-B thin films were investigated. The compositions of metalloids, i.e, B and Si, in the alloys were kept 10 at.% each. Heat treatments were carried out in the temperature range from 100 to $300^{\circ}C$ for up to 60 min. Amorphous thin films of FeCoSiB were deposited on the water-cooled substrates by dc magnetron sputtering. The composition of thin films was controlled by placing proper number of pellets of alloying elements and analyzed by ICP, resulting in $Fe_{80-X}Co_ XB_{10}Si_{10}$ (X=8~18 at.%). Saturation magnetization of the alloys increased as Co concentration increased up to 10 at.% and then decreased with further increase of Co concentration. However, coercive force of the films decreased with the increase of Co concentration. Furthermore, the coercive force was also reduced by the annealing due to the residual stress relief.

Angular Dependence of Ferromagnetic Resonance Linewidth in Exchange Coupled CoFe/MnIr Bilayers (교환 결합력을 갖는 CoFe/MnIr 박막에서 강자성 공명 선폭의 각도 의존성 연구)

  • We analyzed the angular dependence of ferromagnetic resonance linewidth in exchange coupled CoFe/MnIr bilayers. The maximum and minimum linewidth was observed in the easy and hard direction of unidirectional anisotropy by exchange coupling, respectively, and it was well agreed with the angular dependence of exchange bias field. The maximum linewidth was due to the twist of CoFe magnetization near CoFe/MnIr interface from direction of pinned MnIr spin to direction of applied magnetic field. While, minimum linewidth more higher than that of CoFe was related to rotatable anisotropy field, and explained by easy axis distribution of MnIr grains.

$CO_5C_{95}$ 나노미립상 합금의 구조와 자기적 성질

  • 최근에 Fe-CU, Fe-Si 등과 같이 자성금속과 비자성금속화합물에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기계적 합금법으로 제작한 Co/sub 5/C/sub 95/ 나노미립상 합금의 구조와 자기적 성질을 조사하였다. 그림(1)은 EXAFS 스펙트럼의 푸리에변환이다. 이로부터 합금화시간에 따라 Co-Co 결합은 점차적으로 작아지며 Co-C 결합이 진행됨에 알수 있다. 그림(2)은 합금화시간에 따른 포화자화값과 보자력의 크기이다. 포화자화는 합금화 시간에 따라 연속적으로 작아졌으며 보자력은 커지다가 작아지는 경향을 보였다. 포화자화가 작아지는 것은 Co-C 결합이 생기면서 Co의 쌍을 이루지 않은 전자가 C의 전자와 쌍을 이루면서 상쇄되기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 보자력의 거동은 Co 미립자가 다자구영역으로부터 단자구영역으로 전환되기 때문인 것으로 해석될수 있다. Co 미립자는 C의 캡슐형에 싸여있으며 60시간과 100시간에서 Co 미립자의 크기는 X-ray 회절선의 넓어짐으로부터 Scherrerr 공식을 이용하여 계산한 결과 18nm 와 15nm 정도가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 연구를 통하여 Co/sub 5/C/sub 95/ 나노미립상합금을 기계적합금법으로 만들 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이론적인 계산에 의하면 초상자성 Co 입자의 크기는 8.2nm 정도가 되었으며 본 실험에서 최종 입자의 크기는 15nm까지 작아졌다.

  • Array of magnetic Ni nanostructures has been fabricated on Si substrate by using nanoporous alumina film as a mask during deposition. The nanostructures are truncated cone-shape and the lateral sizes are comparable to height. While the continuous film shows well-defined in-plane magnetization, the nanostructure shows perpendicular component of magnetization at remanence. The hysterectic behavior of nanostructures is dominated by the demagnetizing field instead of interaction among them.

통가 열수광상 지역의 해상 및 심해 지자기 조사 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 통가 해역 라우분지의 열수 광상 가능성이 있는 해산들에 대하여 자력탐사가 수행되었다. 그 중 TA 09 해산에 대하여 심해견인 자력탐사가 실시되었으며 심해견인 자력탐사는 정밀한 탐사를 위하여 해저면에서 약 50 ~ 60 m 고도를 유지하며 자력계를 견인하였다. 탐사지역의 총 자력 성분은 Overhauser Proton Magnetomer (모델 SeaSPY 300(해상자력계)m, SeaSPY 6000(심해견인자력계))를 이용하여 측정되었다. 탐사 해산들 중 해상자력탐사와 심해자력탐사가 같이 수행된 TA 09 해산과 주요 열수 광상 유망 지역으로 분류되는 TA 12, 26 해산에 대해서만 측정된 지자기값을 이용하여 자기이상도를 구하였으며 자화역산법을 이용하여 자화이상도를 제작하고 분석하였다. TA 09 해산과 TA 26 해산에서의 해상 자기이상도는 쌍극자 이상형태의 단순이상을 보이며 TA 12 해산에서는 정상부에 고이상이 나타나고 그 주변으로는 저이상대가 분포하고 있다. TA 09 해산에서의 해상자력계에 의한 자기이상치와 심해견인자력계에 의한 자기이상치를 비교하여 보면 거의 10배 이상의 해상도 차이를 보여준다. 연구지역 탐사해산들의 해저지형과 비교하여 보면 열수분출대의 가능성이 높은 저자화이상대들은 주로 해산의 정상부 및 정상부 칼데라와 그 칼데라 주변부에 주로 위치하고 있는 모습을 나타내고 있다. 향후 타 탐사 해산들에 대한 자기이상에 대한 정밀처리/분석 후 탄성파 탐사결과, 암석샘플의 결과 및 지화학결과 등과 비교하여 열수광상의 존재 여부 및 위치 추정 분석이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • [TEACOOH]-Montmorillonite intercalations complex obtained from Na-Montmorillonite and 10-Carboxy-n-decyldimethylethylammonium bromide(organic cation) was reacted with the monomer($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) to achieve the [TEACOOH]-$\varepsilon$-caprolactone-Montmorillonite intercalations complex. From intercalations complex Montmorillonite/Polycaprolactone Nanocomposite in which montmorillonite(inorganic material) is chemically linked with the polycaprolactone(organic polymer) was formed at $220^{\circ}C$ for 48 h. The basal spacing for the sample obtained after polymerization, extraction with methanol and dried at $65^{\circ}C$ in high vacuum for 24 h was 50.7 $\AA$.

  • It has been well known that weak axial magnetic field on the process plasma enhances plasma density. As the magnetic field helps a specific polarized EM wave mode to penetrate into the plasma, the energy transfer to the plasma enhances and the ion density increases. We have analyzed systematic change of the dispersion relation caused by the cyclotron resonance condition. This resonance occurs at near 5 gauss to provide minimum penetration depth, as known before. RF penetration depth increases abruptly beyond the magnetic field of 5 gauss, and this phenomena lessen as the collision frequency increases.
