유비쿼터스 환경에서는 어떤 기기나 사물에 센서와 같은 컴퓨팅이 가능한 기기를 집어넣어 언제, 어디서든 커뮤니케이션이 가능하게 한다. 이러한 기기나 사물간의 커뮤니케이션은 시맨틱 웹의 의미적 연관성을 이용하여 해결할 수 있다. 컴퓨터가 이해할 수 있는 의미적 연결을 하기 위해서는 온톨로지와 같은 시맨틱 웹 환경요소를 이용하여 정보자원들 간의 의미적 연결이 필요하다. 이틀 위해서 본 논문에서는 시맨틱 웹의 의미적 연관성을 이용하여 유비쿼터스 환경에서 컴퓨터가 스스로 정보자원들의 의미를 이해하고 동작할 수 있는 다중 에이전트 커뮤니케이션 구조를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 다중 에이전트 커뮤니케이션 구조는 에이전트들이 웹 온톨로지 언어를 기반으로 표현된 정보자원들 간의 연관성을 기반으로 자원의 의미론 이해하고. 기계들 사이에 커뮤니케이션이 가능하게 한다.

현재 각 국가별로 추진 중인 초고속 정보통신망은 지금까지 전화, 데이터, CATV 등 서비스별 특성에 따라 구축되어온 개별 망들을 대용량 전송, 광대역 교환, 고도지능형 관리 기술을 바탕으로 통합하고, 이들 개별 망에서 제공하고 있는 서비스들은 물론 미래에 예상되는 멀티미디어 서비스들도 효과적으로 수용하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 가능하기 위하여 모든 초고속 정보통신망은 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)기술을 기반으로 하고 있다. 이에 따라 최근에는 ATM기반 초고속 정보통신망 자원을 효율적으로 운용, 관리하는 방안이 통신망 사업자의 주요 관심사로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 ATM통신망에서의 자원 관리의 범주를 단순한 대역폭 할당 뿐 아니라 효율적인 자원관리를 위해 기본적인 트래픽 제어 등으로 폭넓게 고려하여 ATM 망자원 분배를 위한 다양한 접근 방법들을 분석하였다.

공개자원운동의 일환으로 등장한 OER, OCW 컨텐츠를 정보자원으로서 관리해야 할 필요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 대학도서관 OER 현황분석을 하고자 한다. 이를 위해 성균관대학교, 숙명여자대학교, 부산대학교를 분석대상으로 선정하였으며, 컨텐츠 및 컨텐츠 품질, 홍보, 플랫폼 세 항목을 기준으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, OER을 정보자원으로서 체계적으로 수집 관리해야 할 대상으로 보고 있지 않았다. 둘째, OER 서비스 활성화를 위해 적극적으로 홍보가 이루어지지 않고 있었다. 셋째, 이용자들이 참여할 수 있는 OER 플랫폼은 구축되어 있으나 이용자들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 수준이라 보기 어려웠다. 이에 대한 해결 방안을 모색하여 대학도서관이 교내정보자원의 통합관리기관으로서 역할제고 방안에 대해 고찰하는 것에 의의가 있다.

최근 인터넷을 이용한 대부분의 예약 시스템들은 예약 기능만을 중요시하고 있어서 한정된 예약자원을 효율적으로 관리하기에 많은 어려움이 있다. 또한, 한정된 예약 자원의 배정 및 관리방식이 중앙 집중식 관리로 처리되고 있기 때문에 고객들의 선호도를 고려하지 않고 예약이 이루어지고 있다. 예약 시스템의 효율적인 관리와 현대 서비스 산업에서 중요한 고객들의 예약 만족도를 향상시키는 것은 예약 시스템에서 가장 중요한 부분이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 예약 시스템에서 일어날 수 있는 문제를 복합 스케줄링 기법에 적용하여 예약 시스템들의 문제점을 해결하고자 하였다. 고객중심의 도서관 좌석배정 예약시스템은 객체지향개념을 기반으로 고객들의 선호도를 고려하여 고객들이 가지고 있는 사건들을 주어진 제약들에 만족하도록 목표인 도서관 좌석배치도에 배정한다. 또한 고객들의 도서관 이용 정보를 통하여 더욱더 편리한 서비스를 제공하고자 한다. 고객들은 자신의 우선순위에 따라서 자원을 배정하고, 좌석 자원에 대한 고객의 선호도 차이를 가질 수 있게 하였다. 고객 클래스와 도서관 이용정보를 고려하여 우선순위를 가진 고객들은 제약을 만족하면서 최선의 좌석 슬롯을 선택하여 사건을 배정한다. 또한, 고객중심의 도서관 좌석배정 예약시스템을 모의 실험하여 고객들의 만족도를 살펴보았다.

의료기관에서 배출되는 유해성 특수폐기물의 적법처리 여부는 생명에 영향을 주는 매우 중요한 일이다. 그러므로 해당 폐기물의 유통이력정보를 철저히 관리하여 불법 처리를 방지하고, 관련 업체에는 업무 효율성 및 비용 절감의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 본 시스템을 구현하였다.

The result verification that determines correctness for the work results calculated in each PC is one of the most important issues in PC grid environments. In this literature, voting-based and trust-based schemes have been mainly used to guarantee the correctness of work results. However, these schemes suffer from both waste of resource utilization and high computation delay because they can not effectively cope with dynamic computational environments. To overcome these shortcomings, we introduce the distribution information of PC resources based on credibility and availability into result verification phase. Using this information, we propose a new result verification scheme, which can determine the correctness of work results by each PC resources' credibility and cope with the dynamic changing environments by each PC resources' availability. To demonstrate the efficiency of our result verification scheme, we evaluate the performance of our scheme from the viewpoints of turnaround time and resource utilization, utilizing resource distribution information in the Korea@Home that is a representative PC grid system in domestic. We also compare the performance of our scheme with that of other ones.

The preservation metadata which is defined the property and history of changes must be describes logically and structurally for implementing long-term digital preservation. The preservation metadata makes the users to access and retrieve authentic digital resources and the managers of digital archives to manage and preserve more effectively the digital resources. his paper is review of recent developments relating to digital preservation metadata including the taxonomy of information object classes of Reference Model of OAIS and outlines some library-based projects. Next, the paper investigates how to develop and use the preservation metadata in university libraries and what is the core preservation metadata elements. Finally, the paper recommends the set of preservation metadata elements with broad applicability to digital preservation in university libraries.

This paper strives to shed a light on current academic resource sharing initiatives, and seeks the measure for the cooperative information resource management. It first attempts to draw outcomes and suggestions on the basis of issues and implications identified through the analyses in the aspects of management, service, and infrastructure of academic resource sharing in other countries. For this job, research methods such as interviews and on/offline literature review are employed. Specific projects to be analyzed via literature and web site review, although not detailed in nature, are National Technical Information Service(NTIS) and The National Science Digital Library(NSDL) in the United States, Intute of United Kingdom, and Australian Research Repositories Online to the World(ARROW) of Australia. Next, the paper discusses such an issue as the orientation of national level academic resource sharing initiatives based on the comparison of characteristics of current academic resource sharing project. For this, a thorough comparison on background, outlines and characteristics of the projects and analysis on the specifics of each project were conducted as well.

As the volunteer activity has become universal, volunteers of public libraries have also grown both quantitatively and qualitatively. In this context, this study builds a theoretical background on the volunteer activity of public libraries; examines the volunteer activity management of public libraries using survey method including its planning, personal management and administration; and suggests some recommendations to promote the voluntary activity of public libraries. By so doing, this study aims at enhancing our understanding on the volunteer activity management of public libraries.

This study suggested a plan to facilitate the use of research sources in Musicology based on examining information needs of researchers in the field and the status of using the sources. Through in-depth interviews of domestic researchers in Musicology, this study collected and analyzed the researchers' information needs, the status of utilizing the sources, perceived values of the sources and opinions about problems and solutions related to using the sources. Predicated on the analysis, the study noted the plan to facilitate the use of research sources in Musicology in three aspects. First, it is necessary to collect comprehensively and systematize the research sources. Second, education and promotion of the sources to users should be provided. Third, training music librarians and collaborating among the librarians and associated institutions are needed. The study can be used as a basis to effectively provide information and services developed by research institutions relating to Musicology and institutions of art and culture that effectively provide information.
