Changes of Components in Salt-Fermented Blenny, Enedrias nebulosus Sauce during Fermentation (베도라치액젓의 숙성 중 성분변화)

  • To investigate changes of components in salt-fermented blenny, Enedrias nebulosus sauce during fermentation, various chemical properties were examined at 2$\~$3 months intervals during 18 months of fermentation. The degree of hydrolysis increased sharply until 6 months of fermentation and showed the gentle increasement after that. On the other hand, the contents of total and amino nitrogen, total ATP related compounds increased gradually during 18 months of fermentation, The hypoxanthine and uric acid were the most abundant in ATP related compounds, ranging from $80.1\% to $90.5\%. After 18 months of fermentation, sauce was rich in free amino acids such as glutamic acid, alanine, lysine, valine, leucine in that order.

  • This study explores the ways that newspapers report the administrations' policies of 'university reform' from February 2008 to December 2015 through critical discourse analysis. As results, Donga-ilbo and Chosun-ilbo produce the discourse that the crisis of universities is so real and dangerous that it brings about the crisis of our nation, and that the current university systems should be changed into neoliberal systems because it is the critical reason of the crisis. Using various discursive strategies, they construct their reports as objective, real and embodying general goods and then successfully build the neoliberal discourse on university reform as commonsensical and natural. They finally acquire the discursive hegemony for university reform. Kyunghyang-shinmun and Hankyoreh-shinmun produce the anti-discourse against that of Donga-ilbo and Chosun-ilbo. However, they can not develop substantial hegemony struggles for the discourse of university reform because of the limitations of their discourse in terms of quantity and quality and the social and press structures overwhelmingly inclined for neo-liberalism.

The Effect of Pelvic Stability Exercise Program on Pain and Hip Joint of Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain involving Sacroiliac Joint Pain (골반안정화 운동프로그램이 엉치엉덩관절 통증을 동반한 만성요통환자의 통증과 엉덩관절에 미치는 영향)

  • For this research, 27 out of 52 patients with chronic low back pain involving sacroiliac joint pain were classified into the experimental group to conduct pelvic exercise program and traditional physical therapies in parallel, and the remaining 25 ones were classified into the control group to only apply traditional physical therapies for 6 weeks. After that, their clinical samples were randomly extracted. Before the experiment, both of the experimental group and the control group had the Oswestry disability index test to see how big their pain was and their hip joint angles were analyzed during walking. After the post-test, finally, the results of the Oswestry disability index test and hip joint angles while walking before and after the experiment were compared between two groups to know the effect of pelvic stability exercise program. Within-group results and between-group results both displayed significantly reduced low back pain, and when comparing hip joint angles of the experimental group, there were differences between mid stance phase, terminal stance phase, pre swing phase and early swing phase of the right hip joint, and mid stance phase, terminal stance phase, pre swing phase and early swing phase of the left hip joint. In the control group, there were significant differences between mid stance phase, terminal stance phase and early swing phase of the right hip joint, and loading response phase, mid stance phase, terminal stance phase and pre swing phase of the left hip joint. as a result, pelvic stability exercise program is helpful to gait rhythm on stance phase and swing phase although effective to decrease Oswestry disability index including pain.

  • Laboratory determinations of saturated hydraulic conductivity were conducted with four soils varying in texture from sand to clay and with five waters with different salinity level. The waters varied in total dissolved solids from 1,250 to $15,000mg/{\ell}$ and in SAR from 16 to 57 and were representative of saline waters in New Mexico. Saturated hydraulic conductivities of the soils were not significantly affected by water salinity if these waters were the sole source of irrigation water. However, small additions of distilled water, assuming simulated to rain, to soils previously equilibrated with the saline waters significantly decreased soil permeability. Dispersion and short or long-distance transport of clay apparently clogged conducting pores when distilled water was introduced. Swelling was an important mechanism in reducing soil permeability only in the clay soil. The data suggest that, when saline water is the dominant irrigation source and is supplemented by rain, (1) all saline waters could be used on very sandy soils, (2) no saline waters should be used on very heavy soils, and (3) slightly saline, but not very saline, waters could be used on medium-textured soils.

A Study of Denitrification in the Grassland with an Acetylene Inhibition Technic (초지(草地)에서의 아세칠렌 조해법(阻害法)에 의(依)한 탈질(脫窒) 연구(硏究))

  • A field study was conducted for 20 soil columns to investigate the denitrification in the grassland with a method introducing $C_2H_2$ in the denitrifying system. Since acetylene blocked the pathway from $N_2O$ to $N_2$, all the free products of denitrification consisted of nitrous oxide. In this study, denitrification was measured as $N_2O$. Results are as follows. 1. In most of boils examined, denitrification was observed as $N_2O$ when acetylene was introduced into the denitrification system while $N_2O$ was scarcely evolved without acetylene in the system. 2. Denitrification occurred even in the grassland soils when they were saturated with water. Denitrification was nil or negligible without water saturation. 3. Denitrification loss far 3 days incubation(from 13th to 16th day after urea application) was 4.2% in average and 14.2% in maximum. 4. Soil chemical properties such as nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, total nitrogen, total carbon and mineralizable carbon did not show clear relationships with denitrificatien, probably since soil chemical properties were analysed for the soils after incubation.

  • The Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) was initiated in August 1985 to develop new generation water erosion prediction technology for federal agencies involved in soil and water conservation and environmental planning and assessment. Developed by USDA-ARS as a replacement for empirical erosion prediction technologies, the WEPP model simulates many of the physical processes important in soil erosion, including infiltration, runoff, raindrop detachment, flow detachment, sediment transport, deposition, plant growth and residue decomposition. The WEPP included an extensive field experimental program conducted on cropland, rangeland, and disturbed forest sites to obtain data required to parameterize and test the model. A large team effort at numerous research locations, ARS laboratories, and cooperating land-grant universities was needed to develop this state-of-the-art simulation model. The WEPP model is used for hillslope applications or on small watersheds. Because it is physically based, the model has been successfully used in the evaluation of important natural resources issues throughout the United State and in several other countries. Recent model enhancements include a graphical Windows interface and integration of WEPP with GIS software. A combined wind and water erosion prediction system with easily accessible databases and a common interface is planned for the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop science education content standards, to guide in developing k-12 national science curriculum, and to provide guidance for local districts and schools to effectively apply the national science curriculum to their school curriculum. We suggest ideas for science education content standards, describing how science education content standards would look through reviews of literature for background research, surveys, and interviews to set the frame, developing standards for each sub-component, and examining and revising. The science education content standards consist of situation, components, and performance. Situation refers to when, where, and how science was needed. Components refers to what kind of knowledge and what kind of process and understanding should be taught in school science, like Nature of Science, Scientific Creativity, Scientific Inquiry, & Disciplinary Core Ideas. Performance refers to what we would like to achieve through science education.

동서 광역개발 협력체계구축 방안 - 광양만, 진주권 개발을 중심으로 -

  • 전라남도와 경상남도는 강 하나를 사이에 둔 아주 가까운 이웃이며, 주민생활권이나 지역경제권이 상로연계성을 갖고 있다. 뿐만아니라 사회, 경제 문화와 보유자원의 여러 측면에서도 상로 본완적 성격을 갖고 있는 지역이다. 따라서 대승적 차원에서 볼 때 국토의 균형박전을 도모하고 진정한 동서화합을 위해 상로연계성을 갖고 있는 광양만, 진주권 광역새발을 공동으로 추진하여 동시화합의 대전기를 마련하는 계기로 삼아야 할 것이다. 이러한 차원에서 동서지역의 광역개발 필요성을 요약하면, 첫째, 최근 일정지역의 행정구역을 넘어서 인구와 물자 및 자원의 이용이 활발하게 이러나고 있어 통합적 계획 및 집행이 요구된고 있다. 따라서 광양만 진주권개발은 2개도에 걸쳐 광역개발권역을 설정한 우리나라 최초의 시범적인 계획으로써 세계적인 관심을 보이고 있다. 둘째, 국가경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 신산업지대의 조성과 연계교통망의 구축이 요망된다. 셋째 국토균형발전을 위해 수도권에 대응한 지방거점 도시권의 육성이 팽배하며, 넷째, 중북투자를 피하고 상호보완적인 기능을 극대화하여 진정한 동서화합에 대한 시대적 여청이 증대되고 있는 시절이다. 따라서 광양만 진주권 광역개발의 기본구상은 우선 경제적 물리적통합으로 실절적인 동서이익을 보색하는 차원에서 추진되어야 한다. 그리고 광양함을 국제물류의 중심지로 확충하고 주변지역에 대규모 물류 유통 및 국제기능을 유치하여 국제적 교류거점으로서의 기반 조성을 강화 하여야 한다. 또한 국제관광벨트 및 신산업지대의 형성과 함께 세계화 고속화에 걸맞는 교통기반시설을 정비하는 한편 자연친화적인 개발전략을 이룩함으로써 지구촌 경제하에시 지역균형개발과 지역의 국제경쟁역 확보차원에서 실현되어야 한다. 나아가 과양만권과 진주권의 경제 사회적인 통합을 달성함으로써 국민적 염원인 동서화합의 장으로 승화 발전 시킬 수 있도록 공간구조 및 기능의 분담배분이 요구된다. 기능은 동시지역을 연결하는 통합적인 기능 분담으로 과양만은 생산 및 물류지원기능의 강화와 전주 사천권은 첨단산업 연구 및 지원기능의 강화차원에서 배분이 요구된다. 이러한 광역개발계획이 세계적으로 추진될 때에 진정한 동서화합은 가능할 것이다. 따라서 진정한 도서화합을 유도하기 위해서는 광역개발을 실펀하기 위한 제도적인 협력체계의 구축이 요구된다. 동서지역의 광영개발을 위한 협력체계의 구축 방안은 첫째, 양 지역간에 협약제도르 도입함으로써 광역개발의 집행력을 강화하여야 한다. 즉, 개별 개발사업별로는 협약이 체결됨으로써 자치단체간의 역활분담이 분명하고 여차별 예산의 확보는 물론 사업시행이 구체화 될 수 있기 때문이다. 둘째는 양 자치단체간의 광역행정을 진담하는 기구의 절차가 필요한다. 광역개발 계획 추진 뿐만아니라 실질적으로 양권역이 공존공영을 위해 필요한 사업들을 추진 할 수 있도록 협의회 기능을 보완한 새로운 전담기구의 설치가 필요하다. 셋째. 광양만 진주권 광역개발 계획은 동서지역의 화합이라는 상징적인 의미를 지니고 있다. 따라서 중앙정부는 동서지역간의 진정한 화합을 유도하기 위해 제주도개발 특별법과 같은 �G동서지역개발 특별법�H을 제정하여 종합적이고 체계적인 개발을 유도 하여야 한다. 지역발전을 이룩할 수 있도록 자속적인 노력이 필요하다.

Estimation of Flood Risk Index for the Nakdong River Watershed (낙동강 유역의 홍수위험지수 산정)

  • The aim of study is to present how to estimate and use the FRI (Flood Risk Index) for classifying area zones based on regional flooding risk in terms of the integrated flood risk management. To estimate the FRI at a spatial resolution of city/county/town units for the Nakdong River Watershed, the 17 representative flood indexing factors are carefully selected for the three flood indexes, such as PI (Pressure Index), SI (State Index), and RI (Response Index) under the P-S-R (Pressure-State-Response) classification system. Because flood indexing factors are measured at different scales and units, they are transformed into a common domain by the T-Score normalization technique. The entropy weight coefficient method is also applied to calculate the weight of flood indexing factors in order to reduce subjective judgement on the effect of weight coefficients. The three flood indexes of PI, SI, and RI are integrated for an overall value of the FRI to evaluate the flood risk of districts. To examine the practical application of the proposed FRI, the FRI results with/without the weight coefficients are compared with flooding zones of natural disaster risk areas officially announced in 2010. It is expected that the FRI ensured by full verification can make regional protection plans against flooding disasters with respect to causes and characteristics of past floods.

Effects of Polyacrylamide and Biopolymer on Soil Erosion and Crop Productivity in Sloping Uplands: A Field Experiment (고랭지 밭 토양유실 방지를 위한 폴리머 소재(폴리아크릴아마이드 및 바이오폴리머)의 현장적용성 평가: 작물재배실험)

  • Use of polymeric soil amendments is an emerging way to reduce soil erosion, and improve crop productivity and soil quality. Objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) and synthetic biopolymer on soil erosion, crop growth and soil quality. The aqueous solutions of PAM and biopolymer at 40 kg/ha were applied to loamy soil plots (3 m width by 18 m long) having a 20% slope during radish (Raphanus sativus) cultivation. Results showed that PAM and biopolymer treatments increased aggregate stability up to 11% compared to the untreated control. Treatments of PAM and biopolymer also increased leaf length of radish but there was no significant difference in crop yield. Soil loss was decreased by up to 41% using the polymeric soil amendments; however, no difference in runoff was found, compared to the untreated control. Soil loss was logarithmically increased against an increase in rainfall intensity ($R^2=0.85$). Our findings suggest that proper use of polymeric soil amendments would be beneficial to maintain soil quality and reduce soil erosion in sloping uplands.
