  • The purpose of this research is to compare and contrast the structural types and the patterned characteristics on the weight management of female college students by making subjective and interpretative approaches based on Q methodology, which identifies the subjectivity regarding the weight management of female college students. Subjects are categorized into three different types after the forceful classification of the forty-one Q samples selected as P samples from the thirty-nine female college students. They are as follows: the first is 'the negative body image type that attempts compusive weight control, the second is 'the health-care-seeking type that maintains consistent weight management', and the third is 'the ego-certain type that can self-control weigh management'. As a result of this research, structural differences were found among the three different types, which can be utilized as basic resources for the behavior of desirable and righteous weight management.

In this study 2 hypotheses based on literature reviews were employed. Questionnaires were also developed based on data collected from previous studies. Subjects of the study were focused on flight attendants in Legacy Airlines. Factor analysis and reliability coefficients were used to examine the internal consistency among variables. Seven dimensions of leisure, which are cultural experience, pursuit of success, social orientation, humanity, pursuit of fashion, shopping preferences and health-orientation were identified from factor analysis. Three dimensions of leisure, which include type of rest, type of sports, and activity of tourists, were identified from factor analysis accordingly. Lifestyle factors were extracted from a result of cluster analysis, cluster 1- Passive lifestyle, Active lifestyle community type 2, and Cluster 3 analyzed Self-satisfied lifestyle types. Airline cabin crew workers involved in the life style analysis can make good use of leisure time.

  • The authors aimed to identify the patterns of mutual support between aged parents and their adult offsprings and to analyze the demographic and social characteristics of each pattern and the quality of living for the aged parents. The data of the study were drawn from the 2008 Survey of the Living Conditions and Welfare for the Elderly published by the Ministry of the Health and Welfare. The sample of our analysis was 14,843 aged persons with their adult offsprings. A cluster analysis produced four types of mutual support patterns: High mutual supporters, parents as beneficiaries, parents as benefactors, ans low mutual supporters, with parents as benefactors as the most frequent pattern of mutual support. The study showed that the group of high mutual supporters was highest in the quality of life while the group of parents as beneficiaries lowest. This findings imply that the support relationship between old people and their adult offsprings may undergo transformation towards a two-way relation of mutual support.

  • Recently, one of the issues that are significantly considered is to keep Changwon F3 car racing. In most existing studies, however, there is shortage of opinions for understanding the reactions of the host community. The question addressed in this paper is what are the underlying factors that affect which inhibitors are likely to be discussed by the host community for car racing. Survey collected from 299 participants in Changwon city were analyzed to test their reactions. Through the empirical study, several research findings emerged. The results indicate that (1) the event seeker, the drive seeker, and the hard internal seeker were significant discriminant factors to separate inhibitors from the host community, (2) the significant differences between the recognition of demographic characteristics and that of negative effects, (3) the significant level between cluster groups(overcontrolled, resilient, undercontrolled) and negative effects is found. The findings also provide implications for practice on several fronts, which is to understand the reaction of the host community to F3 car racing, and for the event planner to reduce complaints.
