  • This study conducted an initialization test to decide dynamic position using AHRS IMU sensor, and derived attitude correction angles of vehicles against time through regression analysis. It was also found that the heading angle was stabilized with variation less than 1°after 60 seconds. Using these angles, this study carried out an experiment on the determination of dynamic position for each system in the open sky and in a semi-open sky. According to the results, in the open sky, DGPS alone systems were excellent in accuracy but poor in data acquisition, so the moving distance was around 12m. In DGPS/IMU combined system, accuracy and data acquisition were satisfactory and the moving distance was around 0.3m. In a semi-open sky, DGPS alone systems were excellent in accuracy in order of DGPS < FIMU < DGPS/IMU according to average and standard errors obtained with exclusion of places where data were not be obtained. The moving distance was the same as that in the open sky. For DGPS, when places where data were not obtainable were divided into Several block and they were compared, the maximum deviation from the trajectory was up to 41.5m in DGPS alone system, but it was less than 2.2m and average and standard errors were significantly improved in the combined system. When the navigation system was applied to surveys and the result was compared with position error 0.2mm under the guideline for digital map, it was possible to work on maps on a scale of up to 1 : 1,000.

  • There are some problems in evaluating the bearing capacity of decomposed granite soils by general equations on account of their inherent compressibility and crushability. In order to investigate this kind of the engineering characteristics on decomposed granite soils in detail, it is necessary to how the micro property of the single particle composing the granite soils, and then the relevance to the macro characteristics of the soils has to be cleared. The reason why the single particle properties are not studied is first the difficulty to find out some regulating parameters, and secondly little understanding of its significance. Furthermore, the water in the decomposed granite soils accelerates the particle crushing. Consequently, increasing of compressibility and decreasing of shear strength would occur. Actually, when the ground settlement is a big issue in the embanked ground using the decomposed granite soils, the sensitive change of compressibility due to the change of water content in the ground becomes conspicuous. In this study, the single particle strength characteristics are studied and microscopic particle shape analyses are performed. In addition the compressibility of the decomposed granite soils and water content effect on the compressibility are analysed based on the test results.

  • We manufactured the Vac-lok that can be applied to patient of special body shape and need to special set-up position and evaluated the usefulness in the radiation therapy. The manufacture Vac-lok, It was used EVA resin and biobeadform of a diameter 1.5 mm. carried out the test of functionality, structural and analyzed the relative reproducibility of phantoms and patients. During the total period of radiation therapy, Vacuum pressure bring variety to a very small amount in the test of functionality of the manufacture Vac-lok. But It was a negligible quantity. The manufacture Vac-lok improved the relative reproducibility of phantoms than the existing Vac-lok and tolerance has a confidence less than 4% error. Also, relative reproducibility of patient increased error than phantom in the antero-posterior and lateral plan. However, the maximum set-up error was less than ${\pm}\;2.3$ mm. In conclusion, If tolerance set-up error of radiotherapy is less than ${\pm}\;3$ mm, the manufacture Vac-lok was enough possible to use and improvement of reproducibility, considering supply with the Vac-lok made to measure of special patient that produced at a low price and without delay.

  • Many science educators concern about the problems of assessment using paper & pencil test. Performance assessment is believed to be a very promising alternatives to traditional assessment. Portfolio assessment, a kind of performance assessment, has many desirable characteristics to foster students' creativity and increase students' responsibility for their own learning. However few research study has been dealt with this assessment method and few teacher adopts this method in science class. The characteristics and structures of portfolio assessment were explored by reviewing related literatures. The appropriate portfolio assessment was designed based on the results of exploration. For our primary science class, general and specific objectives are needed, depending on the nature of the instructional topics. The children's evidences for portfolio may be limited in their forms because of insufficient learning materials and reproducing facilities in classrooms. Large portions of children's evidence should be collected during class hours to reduce burdens of children. The evaluation criteria may be holistic rather than analytical because of large class size. Portfolio assessment will bring about many changes in primary science classes. Students' have more responsibility in science learning. Teachers will focus major instructional objectives, and concern more about students' meaningful learning. Although portfolio assessment requires more work to teachers and children it could be applicable to our science classroom.

  • This research reviews how tourism geography studies in Anglo-American tradition have evolved since 1930s. The purposes of the research are two fold. One is to analyze the change of tourism geographies research trends in terms of research approach and major research themes. The other is to bring out the lessons from the research results for the development of Korean tourism geographies research. For these purposes, the selected papers and texts have been analyzed according to four research approaches: (1) empiricist approach, (2) positivist approach, (3) humanist approach, and (4) critical social theory approach. The major research themes are the explanation of destination through descriptive research in empiricist approach, spatial analysis and evolutionary research in positivist approach, tourist behaviour and place identity in humanist approach, and tourism and consumption in critical social theory approach. It is expected that the development of Anglo-American tourism geographies study will continue in the future because of the growth of tourism industry, the close relation of tourism and geography in nature, and the active contribution of tourism geographers.

  • The mobile mapping system first introduced at Ohio State University in 1991 is being developed in various forms as sensor technology develops. The mobile mapping system can acquire geospatial information around amoving object quickly using the information gathered using the position and attitude information of the moving object and the data from various sensors. The mobile mapping system can rapidly acquire large amounts of Geospatial information and MMS provides maximum productivity in the same measurement methods as existing GNSS and total stations. Currently, a variety of systems are being launched, mainly by foreign companies, and they are applied to the construction of geospatial information. On the other hand, the application of domestic technology development or production is insufficient. This paper provides basic data for the introduction of a mobile mapping system to geospatial information related business by conducting the status survey and feature analysis of a commercialized system focusing on the ground-based mobile mapping system. The research identified the current status and characteristics of high-priced, low-priced, indoor, and handheld mobile mapping systems based on vehicles and suggest that the recent system development trends are moving toward lowering the unit prices. The mobile mapping system is currently being developed as a platform for the application of geospatial information construction and the launch of low-cost models. The development of data processing technologies, such as automatic matching and the launch of low-cost models, are forming a basis for the application of mobile mapping systems in the field of geospatial information construction.

  • As radiation is irradiated from various directions in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), longer treatment time than conventional treatment method is taken. In case of the patients who have problem to keep same posture for long time because of pain and injury, reducing treatment time through increased dose rate is a way for effective treatment. This study measured and found out the variation of dose and dose distribution in accordance with dose rate variation. IMRT treatment plan was set up to investigate from 5 directions - $0^{\circ}$, $72^{\circ}$, $144^{\circ}$, $216^{\circ}$, $288^{\circ}$ - using ECLIPSE system (Varian, SomaVision 6.5, USA). To confirm dose and dose rate in accordance with dose rate variation, dose rate was set up as 100, 300, 500 MU/min, and dose and dose distribution were measured using ionization chamber (PTW, TN31014) and film dosimeter (EDR2, Kodak). At this time, film dosimeter was inserted into acrylic phantom, then installed to run parallel with beam's irradiating direction, 21EX-S (Varian, USA) was utilized as linear accelerator for irradiation. The measured film dosimeter was analyzed using VXR-16 (Vidar System Corporation) to confirm dose distribution.

  • We investigated the radiation exposure caused by DIPS, which is used to identify accurate repositioning and tumor location in pediatric cancer patients proton therapy. To compare and analyze DIPS condition, 50 pediatric cancer patients who underwent proton therapy were selected in Ilsan K cancer-specialized hospital from March 2007 to October 2009. For DIP exposure, 0.09~1.57 mGy is measured in AP and lateral directions and 23.55 mGy is measured in CSI patients. In whole brain patient, the amount of a day DIP exposure dose was 1.13 mGy. During treatment period, who exposed the biggest DIP dose are whole brain patients, 632.71 mGy is exposed. It is 1.13% of prescribed dose, represented dose is adequate because it is not exceeded 2% of recommended dose. Even though the exposed dose is not exceeded more than 2% of prescribed in DIP exposure, we should recognize the radiation damage and genetic influences to pediatric cancer patients, who is much sensitive to radiation and has longer mean residual life time. Therefore, DIPS guideline for pediatric cancer patients should be indicated to minimize the radiation exposure.
