The study of the Gifted Students Education about Doing Mathematical Task with the Face Plot (얼굴그림(Face Plot)을 활용한 수학영재교육의 사례연구)

  • This study is to figure out the activity and disposition of gifted students with face plot in exploratory data analysis at middle school mathematics class. This study has begun on the basis of the doing mathematics at multivariate analysis beyond one variable and two variables. Gifted students were developed the good learning habits theirselves. According to this result, Many gifted students have an interesting experience at data analysis with Face Plot. And they felt the useful methods of creative thinking about graphics with doing mathematics at mathematical tasks. I think that teachers need to learn the visualization methods and to make and to develop the STEAM education tasks connected real life. It should be effective enough to change their attitudes toward teaching and learning at exploratory data analysis.

  • Continuous measurement of nearshore waves around Korea over long period is very demanding to setup plans for prevention of disasters of port and coastal structures. In this respect, a new web-based system, termed as WINK, was established, which collects nearshore wave data from Korea Meteorological Agency (KMA), Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency (KHOA), and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) and provide them after quality control of the data. This paper describes technical aspects regarding collection and selection of the wave observation data, construction of wave hindcasting data, the methodology of quality control for the selected wave data, and overall process of building the web-based data providing system.

  • A longitudinal study refers to a research method based on longitudinal data repeatedly measured on the same object. Most of the longitudinal analysis methods are suitable for prediction or inference, and are often not suitable for use in exploratory study. In this study, an exploratory method to analyze longitudinal data is presented, which is to find the longitudinal trajectory after determining the best number of clusters by clustering longitudinal data using self-organizing map technique. The proposed methodology was applied to the longitudinal data of the Employment Information Service, and a total of 2,610 samples were analyzed. As a result of applying the methodology to the actual data applied, time-series clustering results were obtained for each panel. This indicates that it is more effective to cluster longitudinal data in advance and perform multilevel longitudinal analysis.

Enhancing GEMS Surface Reflectance in Snow-Covered Regions through Combined of GeoKompsat-2A/2B Data (천리안 위성자료 융합을 통한 적설역에서의 GEMS 지표면 반사도 개선 연구)

  • To address challenges in classifying clouds and snow cover when calculating ground reflectance in Near-UltraViolet (UV) wavelengths, this study introduces a methodology that combines cloud data from the Geostationary Environmental Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS) and the Advanced Meteorological Imager (AMI)satellites for snow cover analysis. The proposed approach aims to enhance the quality of surface reflectance calculations, and combined cloud data were generated by integrating GEMS cloud data with AMI cloud detection data. When applied to compute GEMS surface reflectance, this fusion approach significantly mitigated underestimation issues compared to using only GEMS cloud data in snow-covered regions, resulting in an approximately 17% improvement across the entire observational area. The findings of this study highlight the potential to address persistent underestimation challenges in snow areas by employing fused cloud data, consequently enhancing the accuracy of other Level-2 products based on improved surface reflectivity.

  • Travel speed is an important parameter for measuring road traffic and incident detection system. In this paper I suggests a model developed for estimating reliable and accurate average roadway link travel speeds using image processing sensor. This method extracts the vehicles from the video image from CCTV, tracks the moving vehicles using deep neural network, and extracts traffic information such as link travel speeds and volume. The algorithm estimates link travel speeds using a robust data-fusion procedure to provide accurate link travel speeds and traffic information to the public. In the field tests, the new model performed better than existing methods.

  • It is very difficult to predict time-series data. This is because data obtained from the signal having a non-linear characteristic has an uncertainty. In this paper, By differentiating time-series data is the average of the past data under the premise that change depending on what pattern, and find the soft look of time-series change pattern. This paper also apply the probability variables to generalize time-series data having a specific data according to the reflection ratio of the differentiation. The predicted value is estimated by removing cyclic movement and seasonal fluctuation, and reflect the trend by extracting the irregular fluctuation. Predicted value has demonstrated the superiority of the proposed algorithm and compared with the best results by a simple moving average and the moving average.

The utility of walking assistive devices among people with mobility disabled (지체장애인의 보행 보조기 사용)

  • This study compared the utility of walking aids, and activities of daily life depending on the ability of people with mobility disabilities to use walking aids. Data were extracted from the Korea Welfare Panel Study in 2014. Data of 435,947 individuals were analyzed using chi-square and t-tests. The findings from this study showed that disabled persons who cannot use walking aids independently were more likely to have a severe disability level and a lower level of daily activities than the independent group. The level of social participation and leisure activities were also significantly lower in the dependent than the independent group. Therefore, walking aids should be tailored for individuals depending on their level of independence for using walking aids.

  • This study was conducted to identify the level of quality of life and factors influencing on quality of life in Korean women with breast cancer and cervical cancer. This study was secondary analysis using The seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). In the result of this study, women with the lower age, higher household income, and higher self-rated health status, had the higher level of quality of life. Following the result, intervention strategies are needed to enhance self-rated health and to improve quality of life in women with lower age and lower household income.

  • The function of Aids to Navigation(AtoN) must be sustainable. In order to provide sustainable services, it is necessary to prevent repeated AtoN accidents through accurate data analysis and to perform maintenance to maintain functions. What is needed for this is the AtoN status statistics service. AtoN Status Statistics Service is a service that extracts existing data in gml format and extracts and processes it in the period, type, and format desired by the manager.

  • 천문학은 시간적·공간적 규모가 크기 때문에 학습자의 수준에 따라 공감과 이해의 정도에 차이가 크다. 2015 개정 과학과 교육과정에 따르면 초등학교 5학년부터 태양계에 대한 내용을 다루고 있다. 하지만 이를 설명하기 위한 교과서의 사진과 동영상 자료는 태양계를 명확하게 전달하기 어렵다. 이에 대한 대안으로 3D Modeling을 통한 체험 교육을 제안한다. 천문학 교과에서 3D Modeling의 적용은 학생들의 흥미, 태도의 향상 등 교육적 효과의 상승으로 이어진다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3D Modeling의 도구 중 3D 프린터와 레이저 절단기를 이용해 융합교육(STEAM) 프로그램을 개발하고 학생들에게 적용하여 창의적 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 초등학교 교육과정에 제시된 태양계 관련 학습자료를 분석하였고, 융합교육(STEAM)에서 제안하는 상황제시, 창의적 설계, 감성적 체험의 교육단계 중 '창의적 설계' 단계에 3D 프린터와 레이저 절단기를 통해 개발한 kit를 이용하여 융합교육(STEAM) 프로그램에 적용하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 형식 교육의 장에 적용하여 개발된 평가지표를 토대로 사전·사후 평가를 실시한다. 향후 3D Modeling을 초등학교 교육과정뿐만 아니라 중·고등학교 교육과정 또한 분석하여 적용한다면, 천문대중화를 위해 큰 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
