Correlation of Reading Quantities in Developmental Period and Reading Material Type (성장시기별, 자료별 독서량 간의 상관관계에 대한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the correlation of reading quantities in different developmental phases and various media(magazines, books, comic books). I surveyed reading quantifies in developmental periods, by questionnaires. As a methodology of empirical study, data was collected from 187 students at the Chonbuk National University. Statistical techniques of a Pearson Correlation Test were employed according to my hypotheses. The results of this survey are as follows: 1) reading quantities of general book of specific period is correlated with general book reading quantities of specific period. 2) reading quantities of magazine of specific period is correlated with magazine reading quantities of other period 3) reading quantities of comic book of specific period is correlated with comic book reading quantities of other period 4) correlation among reading quantity of middle school period and high school period is high.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the correlation of reading quantities in various media(magazines, books, comic books) and different developmental phases of women high school students. I surveyed reading quantities in developmental periods, by questionnaires. As a methodology of empirical study, data was collected from 198 students at the Jeonju Girls' High School. Statistical techniques of a Pearson Correlation Test were employed according to my hypotheses. The results of this survey are as follows: 1) Reading quantities of specific media of specific period is correlated with reading quantities of same media of other period 2) Reading quantities of books is correlated with reading quantities of comic books.

Study of the Service Improvement and Revitalization Measures of Student-Centered University Library through the Book Lending Data Analysis of Freshmen (대학 신입생의 도서대출 자료 분석을 통한 학생 중심의 대학도서관 서비스 개선 및 활성화 방안 연구)

  • The reading activity of university students is the key element for the cultivation of creative human resources, and each university develops and performs the various cultural education and library program. Actually, the university libraries check the service periodically through library satisfaction surveys and the library user's actual condition survey to improve it, but the amount of reading, number of books lent and the rate of borrowers are still under expectation. Therefore, in this research, an in-depth analysis of lending books data for freshmen, as the service improvement and revitalization measures of university libraries for students, suggested the following: (1) the early education for the library users, (2) the opening of the students-participating library collections, (3) the use of the data using a library for the consulting with students (4) the establishment of the library depositary for education support, and (5) the introduction of the library CRM for individual student. Through this result, it would be substantially helpful for each university library (including two-year college), in which the number of lending books and the rate of borrowers are below expectations.

A Study on Effectiveness of Book Recommendations for Elementary School Students (초등학생을 위한 권장도서의 유효성 비교 연구)

  • In this study, overlapping recommended books in different schools were positively analyzed and the extent to which the recommended books leading to actual loan was statistically analyzed. The purpose of the study is to confirm the effects of recommended books by analyzing the data and extracting the proofs. For the method of research, eighteen elementary schools' recommended book lists and thirteen elementary schools' loan data were collected and compared by schools, by grades in a basic statistical analysis method. The result shows that recommended books similarity was low and recommended books affected the total volume of lend books. Loan frequency by grades showed the difference and in every school, lower grades had high loan frequency. The result of this study will be applied as basic data for applying recommended books in school libraries.
