Malware analysts work diligently to analyze and counteract malware, while developers persistently devise evasion tactics, notably through packing and obfuscation techniques. Although previous works have proposed general unpacking approaches, they inadequately address techniques like OEP obfuscation and API obfuscation employed by modern packers, leading to occasional failures during the unpacking process. This paper examines the OEP and API obfuscation techniques utilized by various packers and introduces a system designed to automatically de-obfuscate them. The system analyzes the memory of packed programs, detects trampoline codes, and identifies obfuscated information, for program reconstruction. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our system in de-obfuscating programs that have undergone OEP and API obfuscation techniques.

Recently, spatial information is being constructed actively based on the images obtained by drones. Because occlusion areas occur due to buildings as well as many obstacles, such as trees, pedestrians, and banners in the urban areas, an efficient way to resolve the problem is necessary. Instead of the traditional way, which replaces the occlusion area with other images obtained at different positions, various models based on deep learning were examined and compared. A comparison of a type of feature descriptor, HOG, to the machine learning-based SVM, deep learning-based DNN, CNN, and RNN showed that the CNN is used broadly to detect and classify objects. Until now, many studies have focused on the development and application of models so that it is impossible to select an optimal model. On the other hand, the upgrade of a deep learning-based detection and classification technique is expected because many researchers have attempted to upgrade the accuracy of the model as well as reduce the computation time. In that case, the procedures for generating spatial information will be changed to detect the occlusion area and replace it with simulated images automatically, and the efficiency of time, cost, and workforce will also be improved.

Every year in the ocean, various accidents occur frequently and illegal fishing is rampant. Moreover, their size and frequency are also increasing. In order to reduce losses of life or property caused by these, it is necessary to have a means to perform remote monitoring quickly. As an effective platform of such monitoring means, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is receiving the spotlight. In these situations where marine accidents or illegal fishing occur, main targets of monitoring are ships. In this study, we propose a UAV based ship monitoring system and suggest a method of determining ship positions using UAV multi-sensory data. In the proposed method, firstly, the position and attitude of individual images are determined by using the pre-performed system calibration results and GPS/INS data obtained at the time when images were acquired. In addition, after the ship being detected automatically or semi-automatically from the individual images, the absolute coordinates of the detected ships are determined. The proposed method was applied to actual data measured at 200 m, 350 m, and 500 m altitude, the ship position can be determined with accuracy of 4.068 m, 8.916 m, and 13.734 m, respectively. According to the minimum standard of a hydrographical survey, the ship positioning results of 200 m and 350 m data satisfy grade S and the results of 500 m data do grade 1a, where the accuracy is required for positioning the coastline and topography less significant to navigation order. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed method can be effectively used for various purposes of marine monitoring or surveying.
Recently, many Earth observation optical satellites have been developed, as their demands were increasing. Therefore, a rapid preprocessing of satellites became one of the most important problem for an active utilization of satellite images. Satellite image matching is a technique in which two images are transformed and represented in one specific coordinate system. This technique is used for aligning different bands or correcting of relative positions error between two satellite images. In this paper, we propose an automatic image matching method among satellite images with different ground sampling distances (GSDs). Our method is based on improved feature matching and robust estimation of transformation between satellite images. The proposed method consists of five processes: calculation of overlapping area, improved feature detection, feature matching, robust estimation of transformation, and image resampling. For feature detection, we extract overlapping areas and resample them to equalize their GSDs. For feature matching, we used Oriented FAST and rotated BRIEF (ORB) to improve matching performance. We performed image registration experiments with images KOMPSAT-3A and RapidEye. The performance verification of the proposed method was checked in qualitative and quantitative methods. The reprojection errors of image matching were in the range of 1.277 to 1.608 pixels accuracy with respect to the GSD of RapidEye images. Finally, we confirmed the possibility of satellite image matching with heterogeneous GSDs through the proposed method.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is building and operating digital twin-based urban spatial information to solve various problems in the city and provide public services. Two essential factors to ensure the stable utilization of spatial information for the implementation of such a digital twin city are the latest and quality of the data. However, it is time-consuming and costly to maintain continuous updating of high-quality urban spatial information. To overcome this problem, we studied efficient urban spatial information construction technology and the operation, management, and update procedures of construction data. First, we demonstrated and applied automatic 3D building construction technology centered on point clouds using the latest hybrid sensors, confirmed that it is possible to automatically construct high-quality building models using high-density airborne lidar results, and established an efficient data management plan. By applying differentiated production methods by region, supporting detection of urban change areas through Seoul spatial feature identifiers, and producing international standard data by level, we strengthened the utilization of urban spatial information. We believe that this study can serve as a good precedent for local governments and related organizations that are considering activating urban spatial information based on digital twins, and we expect that discussions on the construction and management of spatial information as infrastructure information for city-level digital twin implementation will continue.
The purpose of this study to find the factors influencing the fire alarms using IoT firefighting facility management system data of Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters, and to present academic implications for establishing an effective prevention system of fire situation. As the number of high and complex buildings increases and former bulidings are advanced, the fire detection facilities that can quickly respond to emergency situations are also increasing. However, if the accuracy of the fire situation is incorrectly detected and the accuracy is lowered, the inconvenience of the residents increases and the reliability decreases. Therefore, it is necessary to improve accuracy of the system through efficient inspection and the internal environment investigation of buildings. The purpose of this study is to find out that false detection may occur due to building characteristics such as usage or time, and to aim of emphasizing the need for efficient system inspection and controlling the internal environment. As a result, it is found that the size(total area) of the building had the greatest effect on the fire alarms, and the fire alarms increased as private buildings, R-type receivers, and a large number of failure or shutoff days. In addition, factors that influencing fire alarms were different depending on the main usage of the building. In terms of time, it was found to follow people's daily patterns during weekdays(9 am to 6 pm), and each peaked around 10 am and 2 pm. This study was claimed that it is necessary to investigate the building environment that caused the fire alarms, along with the system internal inspection. Also, it propose additional recording of building environment data in real-time for follow-up research and system enhancement.

Clouds cause many difficult problems in observing land surface phenomena using optical satellites, such as national land observation, disaster response, and change detection. In addition, the presence of clouds affects not only the image processing stage but also the final data quality, so it is necessary to identify and remove them. Therefore, in this study, we developed a new cloud detection technique that automatically performs a series of processes to search and extract the pixels closest to the spectral pattern of clouds in satellite images, select the optimal threshold, and produce a cloud mask based on the threshold. The cloud detection technique largely consists of three steps. In the first step, the process of converting the Digital Number (DN) unit image into top-of-atmosphere reflectance units was performed. In the second step, preprocessing such as Hue-Value-Saturation (HSV) transformation, triangle thresholding, and maximum likelihood classification was applied using the top of the atmosphere reflectance image, and the threshold for generating the initial cloud mask was determined for each image. In the third post-processing step, the noise included in the initial cloud mask created was removed and the cloud boundaries and interior were improved. As experimental data for cloud detection, CAS500-1 L2G images acquired in the Korean Peninsula from April to November, which show the diversity of spatial and seasonal distribution of clouds, were used. To verify the performance of the proposed method, the results generated by a simple thresholding method were compared. As a result of the experiment, compared to the existing method, the proposed method was able to detect clouds more accurately by considering the radiometric characteristics of each image through the preprocessing process. In addition, the results showed that the influence of bright objects (panel roofs, concrete roads, sand, etc.) other than cloud objects was minimized. The proposed method showed more than 30% improved results(F1-score) compared to the existing method but showed limitations in certain images containing snow.

In this paper, we propose UniBAS(Unified Bug Analysis System) to provide a unified repository model by integrating the extracted data from the heterogeneous bug tracking systems. The UniBAS reduces the cost and complexity of the MSR(Mining Software Repositories) research process and enables the researchers to focus on their logics rather than the tedious and repeated works such as extracting repositories, processing data and building analysis models. Additionally, the system not only extracts the data but also automatically generates database tables, views and stored procedures which are required for the researchers to perform query-based analysis easily. It can also generate various types of exported files for utilizing external analysis tools or managing research data. A case study of detecting duplicate bug reports from the Firfox project of the Mozilla site has been performed based on the UniBAS in order to evaluate the usefulness of the system. The results of the experiments with various algorithms of natural language processing and flexible querying to the automatically extracted data also showed the effectiveness of the proposed system.
Active queue management (AQM) algorithms run on routers and detect incipient congestion by typically monitoring the instantaneous or average queue size. When the average queue size exceeds a certain threshold, AQM algorithms infer congestion on the link and notify the end systems to back off by proactively dropping some of the packets arriving at a router or marking the packets to reduce transmission rate at the sender. Among the existing AQM algorithms, random early detection (RED) is well known as the representative queue-based management scheme by randomizing packet dropping. To reduce the number of timeouts in TCP and queuing delay, maintain high link utilization, and remove bursty traffic biases, the RED considers an average queue size as a degree of congestions. However, RED do not well in the specified networks conditions due to the fixed parameters($P_{max}$ and $TH_{min}$) of RED. This paper addresses a extended RED to be adapted in various networks conditions. By sensing network state, $P_{max}$ and $TH_{min}$ can be automatically changed to proper value and then RED do well in various networks conditions.
This paper proposes to segment skin color areas using a clustering algorithm. Most of previously proposed clustering algorithms have some difficulties, since they generally detect hyperspherical clusters, run in a batch mode, and predefine a number of clusters. In this paper, we use a well-known elliptical clustering algorithm, an EM algorithm, and modify it to learn on-line and find automatically the number of clusters, called to an EAM algorithm. The effectiveness of the EAM algorithm is demonstrated on a task of skin color region segmentation. Experimental results present the EAM algorithm automatically finds a right number of clusters in a given image without any information on the number. Comparing with the EM algorithm, we achieved better segmentation results with the EAM algorithm. Successful results were achieved to detect and segment skin color regions using a conditional probability on a region. Also, we applied to classify images with persons and got good classification results.
