Determination of True Stress-Strain Curves of Auto-body Plastics Using FEGM (FEGM을 이용한 자동차용 플라스틱의 진응력-변형률 선도 도출)

  • The plastics are widely utilized in the inside of vehicles. The dynamic tensile characteristics of auto-body plastics are important in a prediction of deformation mode of the plastic component which undergoes the high speed deformation during car crash. This paper is concerned with the dynamic tensile characteristics of the auto-body plastics at intermediate strain rates. Quasi-static tensile tests were carried out at the strain rate ranged from 0.001/sec to 0.01/sec using the static tensile machine(Instron 5583). Dynamic tensile tests were carried out at the strain rate ranged from 0.1/sec to 100/sec using the high speed material testing machine developed. Conventional extensometry method is no longer available for plastics, since the deformation of plastic is accompanied with localized deformation. In this paper, quasi-static and dynamic tensile tests were performed using ASTM IV standard specimens with grids and images from a high speed camera were analyzed for strain measurement. True stress-strain relations and the actual strain rates at each deformation step were obtained by processing load data and deformation images, assuming the plastics to deform uniformly in each grid.

  • Special quality of automobile CMC(clutch master cylinder) and analyzed aluminum, plastic material comparison. Efficiency of plastic master cylinder can modularize higher, light weight anger of parts, several piece parts by single parts, prove NVH(Noise, Vibration, Harshness) than aluminum master cylinder as analysis result. Also, structure is easy simplicity, exchange, maintenance costs can be reduced and decrease environmental pollution because recycling is superior.

Film Insert Molding of Automotive Door Grip Using Injection-Compression Molding (사출압축성형을 이용한 자동차용 도어그립 필름인서트성형)

  • Injection-compression molding was used for film insert molding of an automotive door grip using films with three-dimensional embossed patterns. A vacuum mold was fabricated for vacuum-assisted thermoforming of the film, and an injection-compression mold was developed for film insert molding. Three pressure transducers were installed inside the mold cavity to measure cavity pressures. Injection-compression molding experiments under various compression strokes and toggle speeds were performed to investigate their effects on the cavity pressure and heights of the embossed patterns. The compression stroke of 0.9mm and low toggle speed resulted in a higher degree of conservation of embossed patterns. Additionally, the processing conditions for the maximum heights of embossed patterns were almost similar to those for minimum integral value of cavity pressures. The injection-compression molding process presents the opportunity to impart a soft-touch feeling of plastic parts printed with embossed patterns.

  • Plastics have brought a significant progress in reducing the weight of automotive parts and improving gas emissions by replacing steel parts. The front end module (FEM) carrier, which was made from long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP-LFT), is one of the most successful examples. On the other hand, more research on the fatigue behavior and vibration durability of automotive plastic parts will be needed to improve the long-term reliability. This paper analyzed the durability of the PP-LFT, which is fundamental to fatigue design and analysis of FEM carrier. Various fatigue tests were conducted at different stress ratios to evaluate the relationship between the fatigue life and stress amplitude or mean stress level. In the case of a fixed stress amplitude, the change in fatigue life with the stress ratio was 2~6% larger than the case of fixed maximum stress. Furthermore, this study observed the mechanism of initiation and propagation of the fatigue cracks in PP-LFT by scanning electron microscopy.

  • This study investigates the plastic suspension assembly which is installed on inside of vehicle seat and support passenger's back to supply the comfortable ride performance. It aims to develop the structural design in order to support driver's back uniformly and assemble seat back frame with plastic suspension effectively. The part of suspension is designed by considering the body pressure distribution of driver and it has the same size as the practical model on simulation analysis. It is confirmed that the analysis result of plastic suspension approaches the practical measured values and the better body pressure distribution can be obtained as compared with the existing wire type.

  • The proper design of the gate location for injection molding of plastic goods is obtained from three-dimensional injection molding analysis for various design alternatives. This paper is study on effect of gate location in injection molding. It have a decisive impact on productivity and quality of plastic goods. This objectives of this paper is to analysis effect of hot runner gate location for resin filling, weld line, injection pressure to manufacture of automobile air cleaner upper case with injection molding machine. Thus, to analysis these problems in this paper, location of gate are gave variety in 4 CASEs. In this paper, the CAE simulation considering each variations in location of gate is performed to predict the cause of faulty which appears in the injection molding process.

  • 수송용 섬유소재는 자동차, 항공기 또는 선박 등의 교통 및 운송 분야에 기여하는 사용되는 섬유소재를 말하며, 내장재, 각종 호스류, 벨트류, 타이어, 안전용품, 필터류 등을 포함하고 일반적으로 섬유, 발포체, 고무, 플라스틱, 접착제 등 유기소재가 결합된 복합체이다. 기존 섬유기술의 혁신과 더불어 IT, NT, BT, ET 등 첨단 기술과의 융합에 의한 고성능 극한 슈퍼섬유, 나노 복합섬유 등의 신소재를 개발하여 산업 전반에서 플라스틱의 금속소재 대체수요를 증가시키고 산업자재의 고성능화, 고기능화, 다양화를 이루기 위해 다양한 노력이 진행하고 있다. 현재 수송용 섬유소재 산업은 기술의 연결고리가 부족하며, 선도기업 및 원천기술이 부족하며, 자동차용 섬유부품소재 관련 기업의 역량도 부족한 실정이다. 이에 광역경제권 연계협력사업을 통해 생산기반의 대경권(대구경북)과 수요중심의 동남권(부산경남)의 네트워크를 강화하여 완성품 업체 및 수요기업과의 네트워킹을 강화하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서 수송용 섬유소재개발, 수송용 친환경 oam-skin 일체형 표피재 개발, 고속성형 복합소재 및 수송용 경량부품 개발, 초경량 고내열 고강도 섬유활용 하이브리드 wire & cable 개발 등 수송용 섬유소재를 개발하고, 또한 수송용 섬유소재의 생산-수요 연계를 통한 투자활성화, 기술개발, 소재 산업 육성을 강화하여, 산학연네트워크구축, 지역 간 협력 및 국제적 협력, 생산-수요기반의 연계협력시스템을 활용한 자립형 수송용 소재 공급기지 완비하는 데 목적이 있다.

  • The current establishment of car engineering plastic piping polyethylene (PE) tube used as bonding state or part of the health or safety of fusion is very important. A part of these fusion methods to determine the soundness of the short-term trials and long-term tests can be largely classified. Typical tests included short-term strength, tensile strength, impact strength, compressive strength, resiliency and compression. Polyethylene (PE) pipes installed in the domestic terms of overall penetration rate of 45% has been used. However, polyethylene (PE) pipes have reliability problems, and these occurs mostly in part by defective welding. Therefore, the test is necessary for safety. Non-destructive methods (ultrasonic testing) are difficult to be used. Therefore, Polyethylene (PE) pipe are used. Fusion of thses materilas is necessary in these field however, its technical, and basic research has not been studied well. In this research, short-term strength of welding parts, its tensile strength, hardness, fatigue, and microstructure have been analyzed to find the optimum process conditions to improve mechanical properties.

  • 현재 자동차 분야에서 차량 경량화를 통해 연비 향상 및 에너지 효율 향상을 기대하고 있으며, 차량 경량화의 한 수단으로 자동차용 유리를 고강도 투명 플라스틱 소재인 PC (Polycarbonate)로 대체하고자 하는 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 그러나, PC의 낮은 내마모 특성과 자외선에 의한 열화 및 변색 현상은 해결하여야 할 중요한 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는, PC의 내마모 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 transmittance가 확보되고, 고경도 특성을 갖는 Al-Si-N 박막 증착에 대한 연구를 하였다. Al-Si-N 박막 증착을 위하여 ICP-assisted reactive magnetron sputtering 장비를 이용하였으며, 고경도 특성을 갖는 Al-Si-N 박막을 제조하였다. 분석 장비로는 박막의 chemical state와 crystallinity를 확인하기 위하여 XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy), AES (Auger electron spectrscopy)와 XRD (X-ray diffraction)를 이용하여 분석을 수행하였으며, Knoop ${\mu}$-hardness tester와 Pin-on-disk를 이용하여 경도 및 내마모 특성을 평가하였다. Al-Si-N 박막의 두께는 ~5,000 ${\AA}$을 증착하였으며, 가시광 영역에서 평균 92%의 transmittance를 나타내었다. 박막의 Si/(Al+Si) 비율에 따라 다른 경도 특성을 나타냈는데, Si/(Al+Si) 비율이 26~32% 부근에서 최대 31 GPa의 경도 값을 확인 할 수 있었다.

SiN:H 박막 위에 Al-Si-N 박막을 증착하였고 총 두께는 ~5000 $\AA$을 증착하였으며, 가시광 영역에서 평균 70% 이상의 transmittance를 나타내었다. 박막의 Si/(Al+Si) 비율에 따라 다른 경도 특성을 나타냈는데, Si/(Al+Si) 비율이 26~32% 부근에서 최대 31 GPa의 경도 값을 확인하였고 SiN:H 박막은 300nm 이하의 파장에서 2% 이하의 transmittance를 확인하였다.
