  • 각종 기능을 갖춘 센서와 컴퓨터로 자동항법장치를 한 미래의 자동차가 눈 앞에 다가오고 있다. 단단하고 충격을 줄여주는 특수 플라스틱, 밤에 운전시야를 넓혀주는 적외선 감지장치, 자동으로 펑크를 때워주는 로열티 타이어, 고온에 견디는 세라믹 엔진, 수소를 연료로 하는 공해없는 자동차 등의 개발이 한창 진행중이다.

  • 현대자동차가 앞으로 LPG자동차를 생산하지 않겠다고 발표한 것과 관련, 최근 협회는 청정연료인 LPG를 사용하는 차량의 생산.보급 확대를 위해 정부 정책이 추진되고 현대자동차로 하여금 LPG차량을 계속해서 생산할 수 있도록 YMCA, 소비자문제를 연구하는 시민의 모임, 한국소비자연맹, 한국소비생활연구원, 대한주부클럽연합회가 정부와 자동차사에 건의해 줄 것을 요청했다. 각 단체에 보낸 공문내용을 게재한다.

  • Although the number of registered cars in South Korea is about 22million but, there is no national standard for automobile reference fuel in South Korea. Reference fuel is the fuel used for certificating vehicle performance, emissions and fuel economy. Now, domestic market fuels are used as reference fuel. However, the quality of domestic market fuel is constantly changing by seasonal and fuel manufacturers. It may effect vehicle performance, emissions and fuel efficiency test result. On this study, market diesel fuel quality was monitored and reference fuel standard(draft) was set by reflecting market fuel monitoring result. Reference fuel standard(draft) was applied to CRDI engine.

Relationship between $CO_2$ emission and fuel consumption rate according to used fuels at driving mode (주행모드에서 사용연료에 따른 자동차의 $CO_2$ 배출특성과 연료소비율의 상관관계 비교 분석)

  • Carbon dioxide is considered a major greenhouse gas that contributes to global wanning. $CO_2$ is a major component of the exhaust in the combustion of any hydrocarbon fuel. The regulation for $CO_2$ emission from vehicles has become much more stringent in recent years. These more stringent regulations require vehicle manufacturers to develop alternative fuels that reduce exhaust emissions. This paper evaluated the correlation of $CO_2$ emission and fuel economy in the Gasoline, Diesel, and LPG vehicles according to FTP-75 and NEDC(ECE15+EUDC) driving mode. From this study, we discovered that the decrease rate of $CO_2$ emission is higher for fuels of lower carbon concentration. When the relationship between $CO_2$ emission and fuel consumption rate according to used fuels is expressed as a function, one can find out that they have a high correlation. LPG vehicles produce less $CO_2$ emission than gasoline and diesel vehicles.

  • Exhaust regulations of automobile are being reinforced increasingly as environmental problems issues came to the fore by industrial development. However, it is known that the exhaust emission is not only influenced by the system of automobile but also the fuel properties. In particular, high-performance engines have required high-performance fuels with high lubricity as CRDI engines(diesel engine) have been developed and commercialized. This paper have examined that the fuel property variations affect a major parts and an exhaust gas of automobile. It was confirmed that the high pressure pump, the injector and the DPF(diesel particulate filter) were damaged and fuel efficiency was get worse due to use the fuel of lacking lubricity property($651{\mu}m$/quality standard: less in $400{\mu}m$). In addition, through an iron component was detected in the broken DPF, it was estimated that the breakage of the DPF was caused by the excessive exhaust of the particulate matter due to the iron component of the fuel.

Scenario-based Design and Life Cycle Cost Analysis of Energy Supply System for Transportation Sector (도로운송부문용 에너지 공급 시스템 설계 및 경제성평가)

  • This study aims to design energy supply systems from various energy sources for transportation sectors and comparatively analyze the life cycle cost of different scenario-based systems. For components of the proposed energy supply system, we consider a typical oil refinery, byproduct hydrogen system, renewable energy source (RES)-based electric generation system and existing electricity grid. We also include three types of vehicles in transportation sector such as internal combustion engine vehicle (ICEV), electric vehicle (EV), fuel cell vehicle (FCV). We then develop various energy supply scenarios which consist of such components and evaluate the economic performance of different systems from the viewpoint of life cycle cost. Finally we illustrate the applicability of the proposed framework by conducting the design problem of energy supply systems of Jeju, Korea. As the results of life cycle cost analysis, EV fueled by electricity from grid is the most economically feasible. In addition, we identify key parameters to contribute the total life cycle cost such as fuel cost, vehicle cost, infra cost and maintenance cost using sensitivity analysis.

  • In this study, an automatic idle stop control system was developed, which automatically stops the idle state engine as it detects the stop state of the car for several seconds and restarts the stopped engine with the driver's electrical signal. It is composed of microprocessor and the related electronic circuits and communicates with ECU and TCU. With accurate and confirmed operating performance, the control system was equipped in the test car which was proceeded the ECE15+EUDC mode test. It is confirmed that the control system, ASG has much favourable effects on reducing the fuel consumption and harmful exhaust emissions.
