  • Reliability means that certain parts or systems maintain its best qualities and functionalities within certain periods and is the prospective quality which the safe life of products is indicated by quantitative values and the highest level of reliability of the products is required to attain in the highly competitive business world. In Korea, there have been a significant growth in the field of reliability and government promotes the "Reliability Improvement Project" to establish infrastructure to conduct reliability assessment and certification. The importance and necessity is well recognized among researchers and engineers working in the research institutions and the manufacturing industries and many industries invest a great amount of money and effort in improving the reliability of its products. In this paper, the promotional status of reliability improvement project and necessity of establishment of the reliability certification system for aerospace field is presented.

A Study on the International Competitiveness of Korean Auto Parts Industry - Focus on the Exporting Concentration and Competitiveness in U.S. Market - (국산 자동차 부품산업의 국제경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구 - 미국시장 수출 집중도 및 경쟁력을 중심으로 -)

  • Korean auto mobile industry has been contributed to development on national economy for last 30 years. Especially, The fact is that latest increasement of Korean automobile selling is worthy of notice in U.S. market which is the biggest automobile market of the world. But development of automobile industry unattainable nothing of helping of auto parts industry. So, when we discuss about growth of automobile industry, we also have to consider role of auto parts industry at the same time. The purpose of this study was to analyze exporting competition of Korean auto parts in U.S. market by using Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. For attaining the purpose of study, we classified the Korean auto parts which exported to U.S. market and the world by using the six units classification of the Harmonized System(HS). Also we measured Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. Analyzing period was 1998-2004. The results of Index of Export Bias indicated that HS Code No. 8708.50, 8708.91 represented over 3 numerical value and 8708.92, 8708.60, 8708.39, 8708.29 represented over 2 numerical value. Additional results indicated that the Korean auto parts which gained exporting competition in the U.S. market were HS Code No. 8708.70, 8708.93, 8708.92. The products which will have exporting competition in the U.S. market would be HS Code No. 8708.99,

Hierarchy of the Influence Areas by Freight Flows in Pyeongtaek and Dangjin Port, Korea (평택.당진항의 화물유동에 의한 항세권의 계층성)

  • This study aims to grasp the hierarchy in the influence areas of port by the intensity of freight shipments and to seek the activating methods for the increase of export and import volumes of Pyeongtaek and Dangjin port. Pyeongtaek and Dangjin port whose major import and export freights are natural gas and automobile, were constructed for the increasing trade with People's Republic of China. This port is expanding the influence in the hinterland and foreland of the port, but core influence area of Pyeongtaek and Dangjin port is rich in trade volume within the radius of 70km. To become international as well as national ports, Pyeongtaek and Dangjin is required to execute the active policy to receive many-sideness of sea route and the recognition of freight holders, forwarders and ship companies in many regions.

2002년도 전력소비동향 분석 2002년 전력소비량은 전년대비 $8.0\%$ 증가

  • 2002년도 전력소비량은 2,785억kW로서 작년보다 $8.0\%$ 증가하였으며, 12월중 소비량은 248억kW($8.2\%$증가)로 월간 최대를 기록하였다. 이처럼 전력수요가 크게 증가한 것은 8, 9월중 많은 강우와 저기온 영향으로 냉방수요 증가가 둔화되었음에도 불구하고, 10월부터 일찍 시작된 한파의 영향으로 난방전력 수요가 크게 증가한 때문으로 판단된다. $\divideontimes$겨울철 난방전력 민감도 조사에 의하면 총난방전력수요는 665만kW이며, 겨울철 기온이 $1^{\circ}C$하락함에 따라 31만kW의 난방전력이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 2002년도 용도별 소비량은 주택용이 $11.8\%$의 높은 증가율을 보였는데 이는 심야전력($24.9\%$ 증가)을 비롯한 난방전력의 수요가 증가한 때문이다. 또한 일반용($9.1\%$ 증가) 및 교육용($11.9\%$ 증가)도 건실한 증가율을 나타냈다. 한편, 산업용전력은 반도체, 기계장비 및 자동차업종 등 수출주도형 업종의 소비량은 높았으나, 소비 비중이 높은 화학제품 및 섬유업종의 전력소비 둔화로 평균증가율보다 낮은 $6.4\%$ 증가에 그쳤다. 그러나 전체 전력소비량에서 차지하는 비중은 $54.3\%$(1,512억kW)로 여전히 제일 높았다. 지역별로는 수도권이 1,049억kWh를 소비하여 전체의 $37.7\%$ 부산$\cdot$경남은 532억kWh로서 $19.1\%$를 점유하였다.

  • '2011 대한민국 녹색에너지대전'이 지식경제부 주최, 에너지관리공단 주관으로 지난 10월 19일 서울 삼성동 코엑스(A,B홀)에서 개최되었다. 올 해로 31회를 맞이한 대한민국 녹색에너지대전은 '세이브 에너지, 스마트 라이프(Save Energy, Smart Life)라는 주제로 13개국, 247개 업체가 참가하였으며, 에너지절약 및 효율 향상 분야, 신재생에너지분야, 기후변화대응분야 등 녹색에너지 분야 전반을 총망라한 최신 녹색기술 제품들이 전시되었다. 이번 전시회는 코트라 주관의 수출상담회, 신재생에너지 유공자 포상이 열렸으며, 일반인 대상의 '신재생에너지 체험관'을 전시기간 내내 운영해 일반 관람객들이 태양광 선풍기 풍력자동차 등을 직접 조립해 보도록 해 관람객들의 호응을 얻었다. 21일 개최된 ESCO투자 사례 발표회에서는 산업체 건물에서 추진된 ESCO 투자 사례 정보를 제공해 주는 뜻 깊은 시간이 되었다. 특히 이번 전시회에는 대내외적으로 에너지절약에 대한 뜨거운 관심이 고조되는 가운데 롯데, LG전자, 삼성전자를 비롯해 효성, 삼천리 등 대기업이 대거 참가, 에너지효율 및 온실가스 저감 최신 기술을 선보였다. 이번 전시회에서는 에너지효율과 신재생에너지에 관심이 많은 관람객들과 최신에너지 기술을 도입하고자 하는 산업체 임직원, 신재생에너지 및 기후 변화대응분야 신규 사업에 관심이 있는 투자자 등 전시장을 찾는 모두에게 유익한 정보를 제공하는 뜻깊은 시간이 되었다.

  • Research of color has been developed and also has raised consumer desire through changing from a tool to pursue curiosity or beauty to a tool creating effects in the 20th century. People have been interested in colors as a dynamic expression of results since the color TV appeared. The meaning of colors has been recently diversified as the roles of colors became important to the emotional aspects of design. While auto colors have developed along with such changes of the times, black led the color trend during the first half of the 20th century from 1900 to 1950, a transitional period of economic growth and world war. Since then, automobile production has increased apace with the rapid economic growth throughout the world and automobiles became the most expensive item out of the goods that people use. Accordingly, increasing production induced facility investment in mass production and a technology leveling was achieved. Auto manufacturing processes are very complicated, auto makers gradually recognized that software changes such as to colors or materials was an easier way for the improvement of brand identity as opposed to hardware changes such as the mechanical or design components of the body. Color planning and development systems were segmented in various aspects. In the segmentation issue, pigment technology and painting methods are important elements that have an influence on body colors and have a higher technical correlation with colors than in other industries. In other words, the advanced mixture of pigments is creating new body colors that have not existed previously. This diversifies the painting structure and methods and so maximizes the transparency and depth of body colors. Thus, body colors that are closely related to technical factors will increase in the future and research on color preferences by region have been systemized to cope with global competition due to the expansion and change of auto export regions.

Economic Cooperation between Russia and Republic of Korea;Problems and Prospects (러-한 경제협력;과제와 전망)

  • 러시아와 한국간의 공식적인 접촉은 1990년 6월 샌프란시스코에서 개최된 정상회담이다. 동년 9월 뉴욕에서 개최된 양국의 외무장관 회담에서 러시아와 한국의 외교관계가 수립되었다. 그간 양국간에는 협정을 통한 협력의 법적기반이 조성되었는데 주요 분야를 보면 무역, 투자보장, 어업, 이중과세방지, 군사기술분야, 원자력의 평화적 이용, 문화교류에 관한 협정들이 있다. 역시 양국간의 주요 관심사항은 무역과 경제협력 분야이다. 2007년도 러시아와 한국의 무역액은 150억 달러를 초과함으로써 전년도에 비해 55.5% 증가하였다. 러시아의 한국으로의 수출은 약 70억 달러로서 전년도에 비해 52.6% 증가했고 한국으로부터의 수입은 80억 달러를 초과함으로써 전년도에 비해 56.1% 증가하였다. 그리하여 러시아는 한국의 10대 교역국으로 성장하였다. 가스와 오일 프로젝트 추진과 관련하여 사할린지역에서 사용하기 위해 한국으로부터 수입하는 드릴기계장비, 탱커, 자동차, 휴대전화는 한국과 러시아 양국간 경제성장의 주요요인이 되고 있다. 2008년 1/4 분기 양국간 무역액은 42억 달러를 초과했는데 이는 전년도 동기와 비교해서 72.1% 증가한 것이다. 이 중 한국에의 수출은 17억 달러를 초과했는데 이는 전년도 1/4분기에 비해 91.7% 성장한 것이다. 한국으로부터의 수입은 약 25억 달러로서 전년도 1/4 분기와 대비해서 60.6% 성장했다. 러시아와 한국간의 경제교류가 크게 증대하게 된 배경에는 러-한경제과학기술협력공동위원회가 큰 역할을 담당했다. 이 논문에서 필자는 무역과 투자측면에서 본 양국간 경제협력의 특징을 고찰하는 한편 러시아의 동부지역(러시아 극동 및 바이칼횡단지역)과 한국과의 협력과 관련된 역동성과 과제를 제시하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 한국은 외국기업과 함께 러시아 극동지역의 무역과 경제협력 증진에 상당한 공헌을 함으로써 러시아 극동경제권에서 주요 무역파트너가 되고 있다. 또한 본 연구에서는 한국과 러시아간의 주요 협력프로젝트에 관하여 고찰하는 한편 앞으로의 전망을 제시하였다. 이 문제는 무엇보다도 한-러간의 공동 에너지프로젝트 및 에너지자원의 무역과 관련되어 있다. 한국과 러시아는 이미 많은 분야에서 상당한 정도로 상호 협력관계를 발전시켜왔다. 여기에는 정책, 에너지, 경제, 문화, 과학기술 분야가 포함되어 있다. 현재 러시아와 한국간에는 에너지 분야에서의 전략적 대화채널 구축에 관한 문제와 함께 연료 및 에너지공단 건설과 관련하여 협력문제가 논의되고 있다. 에너지 분야에서의 전략적 대화개념 구축을 위해서는 전략, 예측 및 투자환경의 문제가 양국간에 집중논의 되어야 하고 법제상의 조화문제도 논의되어야 한다.

  • In the domestic case, although technological capabilities are recognized globally in the IT field, it is actually that the technical capabilities of the domestic leisure ship market which is formed mainly by fishing vessels are not beyond their technical capabilities At the point where the GNP of our country already goes over 22,000 dollars, the demand for the products related to the middle and small leisure boats is gradually increasing, but most of the high added value products depend on the imports from U.S.A. and Europe. And in case of the cars, with the Car Navigation as the start, products which satisfies various demands of the users are coming out in large quantity and now the IT technology is the necessity which can not be lived without in the car industry. Thus, if the digital ship navigator which jointed the recent ICT technology which was applied to the land for the domestic middle and small leisure ships by utilizing the embedded hardware technology and mapping technology which are credible is developed and distributed, it will become not only the opportunity to improve the industry related to middle and small ship IT, but also, the export about overseas market can be expected.

An Analysis on the Shaping Concepts of the Korean Original Passenger Cars (한국의 고유모델 승용차 차제 조형 개념의 분석)

  • The Korea's automotive industry have been achieved a remarkable growth with various original models since the first original model ‘Pony’for the 25years. Most of the design works were depended upon the designers of the other countries on the early times, but now the design work gets to have the independency with our own technology and the automobile is now one of the major exporting goods of Korea to other countries. The basic design concept of the body shape can be considered into four types, and they have their own characteristics. The period of time for the original model developement of the Korean auto makers can be thought as four periods ; introducing period, settling period, developing period and matured period are them. The models that developed on each period reflects the characteristics of the times with designers, technology and market conditions. The basic design concepts of the Korean car body show the variety but the concepts have been intergrated into the two types as the time gose by. This tendency would comes form mainly technology, but the consumers characteristics of the market would also influence as much as the technological reason. It would become more important on developing the original model with the autonomy in design concept of the body through grasping the change of formal characteristics clearly on an automobile in the future.

A Study on the Evaluation of Economic Benefit for Railway Transshipment System with Non-Powered Turntable (무동력 회전장치를 이용한 철도환적시스템의 경제성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate economic benefits for the investment of railway transshipment system with non-powered turntable. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the railway transshipment system with non-powered turntable which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. This research has conducted the empirical analysis, by calculating the investment of railway transshipment system with non-powered turntable. The key factor for the economic benefits for the non-powered turntable is the utilizing throughputs. This demand is influenced by the throughput in the railway transshipment system. The main results of this paper are as follows: railway transshipment system with non-powered turntable does not have economic benefit for investment. We recommend that the plan for investment has to be considered the modification.
