A given product's online product reviews build up to form largely positive or negative reviews or mixed reviews that include both the positive and negative reviews. While the homogeneously positive or negative reviews help readers identify the generally praised or criticized product, the mixed reviews with minority opinions potentially contain valuable information about the product. We present a method of retrieving minority opinions from the online product reviews using the skewness of positive/negative reviews. The proposed method first classifies the positive/negative product reviews using a sentiment dictionary and then calculates the skewness of the classified results to identify minority reviews. Minority review retrieval experiments were conducted on smartphone and movie reviews, and the F1-measures were 24.6% (smartphone) and 15.9% (movie) and the accuracies were 56.8% and 46.8% when the individual reviews' sentiment classification accuracies were 85.3% and 78.8%. The theoretical performance of minority review retrieval is also discussed.

This paper presents an integrated solution for the content-based news video indexing and the retrieval. Currently, it is impossible to automatically index a general video, but we can index a specific structural video such as news videos. Our proposed model extracts automatically the key frames by using the structured knowledge of news and consists of the news item segmentation, caption recognition and search browser modules. We present above three modules in the following: the news event segmentation module recognizes an anchor-person shot based on face recognition, and then its news event are divided by the anchor-person's frame information. The caption recognition module detects the caption-frames with the caption characteristics, extracts their character region by the using split-merge method, and then recognizes characters with OCR software. Finally, the search browser module could make a various of searching mechanism possible.

시맨틱 웹은 인간이 이해하는 것처럼 웹 문서의 의미를 컴퓨터가 처리할 수 있도록 하는데 있다. 그러나 인터넷 등 정보통신 기술의 발전으로 인해 정보량이 급증함으로써 이들 정보 자원을 효과적으로 검색하기에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 주석 에디터를 사용하여 논문에 대한 RDF 메타데이타의 자동 생성 방법을 제안한다. 사용자가 논문을 주석 처리할 때, 문서에 대한 특징을 추출하고 온토로지 인터페이스를 사용하여 문서를 분류한다. 구현된 시스템을 통해 사용자는 추출된 메타데이타를 메타데이타 뷰를 통해 볼 수 있으며, HTML 뷰를 통해 메타데이타를 수동으로 수정이 가능하다. 이 메타데이타는 RDF Repository로 저장할 수 있으며, 주석 뷰를 통하여 RDF 메타데이타 생성을 확인할 수 있다. 이렇게 생성된 RDF 메타데이타는 웹 로봇이 내용의 의미 파악 및 카테고리 정보를 쉽게 알 수 있도록 해준다. 본 논문은 검색 엔진을 통하여 논문 검색시 전체 내용보다 RDF 메타데이타 정보만으로 효율적인 검색을 할 수 있는 방법에 초점을 둔다.

오늘날 멀티미디어 및 인터넷 서비스가 눈에 띄게 증가하면서 다양한 응용분야에서의 동영상 데이터 활용을 급증하였고 이에 사용자가 원하는 동영상 데이터를 빠르고 정확하게 검색하기 위한 내용기반 검색기법이 필수적이다. 본 논문은 high-level features와 더불어 동영상의 고유 내용 속성에 속하는 low-level features를 자동 일반화(generalization)하여 다단계 관리하고 features에 대한 가중치 적용질의를 제공함으로써 기존 내용기반 검색 연구와는 뚜렷한 차별성을 갖는다. 또한 low-level features와 high-level features간의 자동변환(translation)을 가능하게 함으로써 동영상 데이터베이스의 사용자 접근 효율을 한단계 높이고 보다 의미구조화된 동영상 관리 및 내용기반 검색을 지원한다.

Keyword searching used in the past as a method of finding similar patents, and automated classification by machine learning is using in recently. Keyword searching is a method of analyzing data that is formalized through data refinement. While the accuracy for short text is high, long one consisted of several words like as document that is not able to analyze the meaning contained in sentences. In semantic analysis level, the method of automatic classification is used to classify sentences composed of several words by unstructured data analysis. There was an attempt to find similar documents by combining the two methods. However, it have a problem in the algorithm w the methods of analysis are different ways to use simultaneous unstructured data and regular data. In this paper, we study the method of extracting keywords implied in the document and using the LDA(Latent Semantic Analysis) method to classify documents efficiently without human intervention and finding similar patents.

In this paper, we will introduce some method about retrieving suitable images to game or adjusting game difficulty in enjoying some contents like mini-game. It will use the technology about extracting color and texture features in content-based image retrieval in image processing. So in card game, it select card image automatically. And by controlling seed image number, we can adjusting game difficulty. Through the experiment, it shows that our image retrieval method can retrieve more useful images that can be used in game than others.

The inherent limitation of the conventional approaches in automatic indexing lies in the fact that they compute the relevancy between index terms and documents rather indirectly or relatively. As an alternative the anlaysis of document texts seeks a means of establishing a direct relevancy of the terms. More rigorous linguistic analysis will ensure better chance of relevancy. Various semantic topologies among terms may suggest the sufficient quality for relevancy. The enhanced and guaranteed relevance will allow the high precision of retrieval. Along with this line the on going project in KAIST pursues the user oriented retrieval system that spawns still may other issues that are not c o m n in traditional perspective.

자동 지문 인식시스템은 대부분의 사용자 인증 과정을 처리하기 위해 사용하는 아이디/비밀번호 방법의 보안상 결점인 비밀번호 유출로 인한 보안 위협을 근본적으로 제거할 수 있다. 그러나 아직까지 수십만에서 수천만 건에 이른 대용량 지문 검색, 서버에 대한 성능이 입증된 것이 없으며 본 연구에서는 지문분류, 대용량 지문 검색, 다중서버, 다중쓰레드. 인증서버 기술을 갖는 대용량 자동 지문 인식 시스템을 연구하였다. 그리고 10만개의 지문 데이터를 기준으로 지문 검색에 대한 성능을 실험하였다.

인터넷 기술의 발전으로 인하여 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하고 있으나, 최근 들어 사용자들의 수가 증가함에 따라 정보를 제공하는 쪽에서의 단순한 서비스가 아닌 사용자 위주의 맞춤 정보 서비스를 제공하는 쪽으로 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 차세대 웹 서비스에 초점을 맞추어, 기존의 키워드 검색방법과 수 작업에 의한 하이퍼링크 기법의 제한점을 해결한 사용자 위주의 맞춤 정보 서비스를 제공하는 자동 링크 지원 시스템(ALSII)을 제안한다. 이는 마우스 이벤트에 의한 쉬운 검색 방법과 기존 문서상의 키워드에 관련된 다양한 멀티미디어 정보를 자동으로 연결시켜 하이퍼미디어 웹 문서 작성에 편리하며, 새로운 멀티미디어 통합 정보를 구축하는데 용이하다.

In order to process video data effectively, it is required that the content information of video data is loaded in database and semantic- based retrieval method can be available for various query of users. Currently existent contents-based video retrieval systems search by single method such as annotation-based or feature-based retrieval, and show low search efficiency and requires many efforts of system administrator or annotator form less perfect automatic processing. In this paper, we propose semantic-based video retrieval system which support semantic retrieval of various users by feature-based retrieval and annotation-based retrieval of massive video data. By user's fundamental query and selection of image for key frame that extracted from query, the agent gives the detail shape for annotation of extracted key frame. Also, key frame selected by user become query image and searches the most similar key frame through feature based retrieval method that propose. Therefore, we design the system that can heighten retrieval efficiency of video data through semantic-based retrieval.
