A Paleomagnetic Study of Deep-Sea Cores from the KODOS-90 Area in the North Pacific (북태평양 KODOS-90 지역 심해저 퇴적물의 고지자기 연구)

  • A paleomagnetic study was carried out on three gravity cores recovered from the KODOS-90 area in the North Pacific to obtain a magnetostratigraphic information and to correlate the magnetic records between cores. The sediments bear a stable remanent magnetization and the polarity sequence of the three cores can be correlated with the gomagnetic polarity time scale for the Plio-Pleistocene. The abrupt change in the magnetic susceptibility profile at 285 cm depth of the gravity core 26 indicates the presence of a major hiatus. The average sedimentation rates of the gravity cores 08 and 26 are about 2.7 and 1.4 times higher than that of the gravity core 20 (0.09 cm/100yr), respectively.

  • 본 논문은 고압방전(HID)램프용 안정기의 효율을 향상시키기 위하여 자기식 안정기의 코아 및 코일의 권회수에 따른 특성을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 코아를 설계하는 것이다. 코아의 재질 및 형상에 따른 자속분포를 자계해석 프로그램으로 해석하여, 기존 제품안정기 효율 90%에 비해 향상시킬수 있는 기초배경 및 설계 방안을 제시하였다.

The Effect of Field Annealing on Magnetic Properties of Amorphous Alloy (비정질 재료의 자기특성에 미치는 자장중 열처리의 영향)

  • Variations of core loss and coercivity with heat treatment condition have been studied in amorphous ribbon core specimens. All measurements were performed at 10 kHz with a maximum induction of 0.1 T. With increasing annealing time, both core loss and coercivity of core specimens decreased first, reaching minimum values, and increased thereafter. Specimen heat treated in an air showed better soft magnetic properties than those treated in Ar atmosphere. The specimens annealed under magnetic field higher than 6 Oe in radial direction showed reduced core loss and coercivity. The field annealing effects were increased with increasing cooling rate near Curie temperature of the material. The specimen annealed under an applied field in perpendicular direction of the core showed increased coercivity and decreased permeability.

  • Magnetic properties of sintered Fe-79Ni-4Mo cores made of centrifugal atomized powders were investigated. $H_{c}$ and $\mu_{a}$ of the cores sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours measured at 60 Hz at a magnetic field of 10 Oe showed the best properties. Particularly the properties of $H_{c}$ and $\mu_{a}$ measured at low field (< 0.2 Oe) were found to increase with increasing the particle size of the core samples. It resulted from the domain wall motion depending on the grain size of sintered bodies. The best D, C magnetic properties of $H_{c}$ and $\mu_{max}$ were 0.085 Oe and 40000, respectively. A, C properties of the same cores showed the $\mu_{a}$ of 11000. The magnetic properties of sintered cores always exhibited an enhanced AC/DC performance by using the powders mixed with two different particle sizes. Those properties of cores are expected to apply for current transformer.

  • 13Cr-1.5Nb-Fe alloy powder prepared by water atomizing method is reduced with flowing hydrogen gas. The characteristics of a reduced alloy powder is investigated and magnetic cores formed by using the reduction power sintered in the vacuum of ∼10$\^$-5/ Torr. In order to study on the magnetic cores permeability and power loss in alternating magnetic field are also measured. The result of particle size distribution shows the paticle size is 70 ㎛ at volume fraction of 50 %. The saturation magnetization of the reduced alloy powder is 160 emu/g. The relative peak permeability (H$\_$a/=5Oe) of a magnetic core is 400 and the power loss (B$\_$m/=80G) 0.12 mW/cc at sintering temperature of 1,200 $\^{C}$, 10 ton/㎠ forming pressure, and 1 kHz.

Magnetic Properties of Sintered Fe Cores Containing Stainless Steel-making Dusts (스테인레스 제강 분진을 함유한 순철 소결코아의 자기특성)

  • Effect of sintering temperature and dusts content on sintered density ($\rho$) and magnetic properties were evaluated. Cores sintered at 1350 $^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour with the Fe powders containing up to 10 wt.% dusts showed a good AC/DC properties. For example, the DC magnetic properties of magnetic induction (B$_{15}$), coercive force (H$_{c}$) and permeability ($\mu$$_{max}$) of cores containing 10 wt.% dusts were ranging over 9.8~ 10.9 kG, 2.2-2.3 Oe and 1950~2050, respectively. These magnetic properties are equivalent to those of competitor's (i.e, Ancorsteel produced by Hoganas). The cores obtained from the present work are expected to apply for high-performance soft magnetic components such as automotive and DC motor.

  • In the fabrication process of Fe-based amorphous alloy powder cores by pulverization of the melt-spun ribbons and cold compaction, the effects of powder preparation method on the magnetic & electric properties, powder shapes and microstructure of cores have been investigated. The powder cores made by using rotor mill showed low effective permeability as compared to the cores prepared by ball milling. However the frequency dependence and quality factor properties were superior in the case of rotor-milling. Further the powders prepared by rotor mill had homogeneous and round shapes through strong shearing in the sieve ring, while the ball milled powders were inhomogeneous and relatively small. The lower permeability of the powder cores fabricated with rotor mill was considered to be due to the high internal stress occurred by very intensive shearing. Moreover the powder cores produced by rotor-milling showed lower core loss and good frequency dependence of effective permeability possibly due to the higher electrical insulation between magnetic particles. The dc bias property of the powder cores made by rotor-milling was better than the one by ball-milling.

Annealing Effects of Amorphous Cores for the Application of Flux-gate Sensors (Flux-gate 센서용 비정질 코아의 열처리효과)

  • Flux-gate magnetometer was developed in 1930's, and it has been widely used for the low magnetic field measurements. In this work, we have employed amorphous ribbon 2714A produced by Allied Chem. Co. as sensor core material. To develop low noise, low power consumption, and high reliability flux-gate magnetometer, we have measured ac magnetic properties depending on the annealing conditions. As quenched state amorphous core shows high noise level and ac magnetic properties were changed under the condition of accelerated aging test, but amorphous ribbon, which was annealed under 350 $\^{C}$ during 1 hour, shows low noise level of 0.1 nT in the frequency range of dc∼10 Hz which was 10 times better than the as quenched amorphous ribbon. Under accelerated aging test, ac magnetic properties such as squareness and coercivity of the annealed samples show higher reliability and approached to a certain limiting value as exponential function. We can see that high reliability and low noise flux-gate magnetometer could be developed, if we consider this ac magnetic properties change in the sensor design.

  • PLC 시스템에서 사용되는 커플러는 전력선에 연결 형태에 따라 접촉식(Capacitive)과 비접촉식(Inductive)으로 분류된다. 특히 비접촉식 커플러에서 자기 코아(magnetic core)의 소재 특성은 커플러의 크기와 신호 손실 특성 등에 많은 영향을 준다. 본 논문에서는 비접촉식 커플러에서 자기 코아용 재료들의 물성특성과 재료 물성 변화에 따른 전력선 통신에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.
