A Study on Design of the Miniaturized Inverted-F Antenna Using Lumped Elements for Z-wave (집중소자를 이용한 Z-wave용 역 F형 안테나 소형화에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, so many approaching methods are being developed to optimize the antenna size. In this paper, We fabricated Inverted-F type antenna attaching lumped components to solve the limitation of antenna size. Through experiments, a basic Inverted-F type antenna was fabricated and satisfied the adequate radiation pattern. After this, we researched the effect of antenna varied by matching circuit consist of chip type resistor, inductor, and capacitor. Using that elements, the antenna was matched at aim frequency. The proposed antenna's size is $7\;{\times}\;24\;mm$ that is very small size against the resonance frequence. Measuring the developed antenna, Its return loss was -18dB. Thus, this antenna can be used for Z-wave systems.

  • Heat dissipation technology using the flow resonant phenomenon is a kind of a new concept in the heat transfer area. A vibration exciter is needed to enhance air flow mixing which has the natural shedding frequency of thermal system. A mechanical vibrating device for the air flow oscillation is introduced, which is driven by a moving coil actuator with a displacement estimator using strain gage. An analytical dynamic model for this mechanical vibration exciter is presented and its validity is checked by the comparison with experimental data. Values of some unknown system parameters in the analytic model are estimated through the system identification approach. Based on this mathematical model, the vibration exciter using strain displacement estimator is developed. During the experimental verification phase, it turns out the high modal resonant characteristics of a vibrating plate are a major barrier against obtaining a high bandwidth vibration exciter.

  • 전력선 통신용 LC 공진필터에 사용되는 Ni-Zn 페라이트를 제조하기 위해 Ni0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4를 기본조성으로 선택하고 x (Co mol 비)를 변화시켜 전자기적 특성을 조사하였다. $Bi_2O_3$ CaO가 첨가됨으로써 균일한 입자성장과 입계에 고저항층이 형성되어 주파수 손실이 감소하였으며, $Ni_{0.8-x}Zn_{0.2}Co_xFe_2O_{\delta}$의 기본조성에 Co의 함량을 증가시키면 x = 0.05에서 투자율 75, 공진주파수 20 MHz의 특성을 나타내고 결정 입자 크기와 같은 구조적 특성에는 영향을 거의 미치지 않지만 자기이방성 변화에 따라 전자기적 특성에는 영향을 미친다. 또한, $Ni_{0.75}Zn_{0.2}Co_{0.05}Fe_2O_{4.017}$ 조성의 페라이트 코어의 발열량은 큐리온도 이하에서 일어난다.

The Characterization and Analysis of the simulated meander inductor for RF application (RF 응용을 위한 meander 인덕터의 특성 및 분석연구)

  • 폐 자기회로 구조를 갖는 Meander 형태의 Inductor 설계를 위해 HFSS 프로그램을 이용하여 Meander Inductor를 시뮬레이션 하였다. Meander Inductor의 turn 수(N) 및 폭(W), 두께(T), 랩(G)의 변화에 따른 인덕턴스(L), S-parameter(S)와 Q-factor(Q)의 변화를 HFSS 를 통해 측정하였다. Al2O3 기판과 MgO의 두께는 각각 680um, 50um로 고정하였고, silver electrode를 이용하여 Meander 타입의 Inductor를 설계하였다. Meander Inductor의 turn수(6,7,8turn)의 변화를 측정한 결과, 8턴이었을 때 Q-factor가 19로서 가장 높은 결과를 얻었다. L의 결과 값은 공진 주파수와 의 관계에 의해 6turn일 때 L값은 17GHz에서 공진현상이 나타났다. 또한 W, G, T에 변화를 주어 설계한 뒤 시뮬레이션의 결과 값을 측정하였다. 그 값을 서로 비교한 결과, 변수들의 변화에 따라 L값과 Q-factor가 변화되었다. 이 논문에서는 각 변수에 따른 meander inductor의 특성을 HFSS 시뮬레이션을 통해 비교하고자 한다.

  • The Resonance Control Cooling System (RCCS) prototype installed in KAERI site has been designed to control the resonant frequency of the normal conducting drift tube linac (DTL) for the Proton Engineering Frontier Project (PEFP). The RCCS water pumping skid is composed of two channels as a by-passing the cooling water and a plate heat exchanger. The required temperature can be achieved by mixing both channels in order to control its the resonant frequency at 350 MHz. The temperature controlled water pumping skid operates in combination with the Low Level Radio Frequency (LLRF) system. We have discussed the design, modeling with each components, control scheme, fabrication and test results of the water pumping skid for resonant frequency control of the DTL cavity. In conclusion, the fabricated RCCS prototype through the optimization of modeling has corresponded with the design requirement and concept.

Resonant Type Wireless Power Transfer Using an Optimized Antenna at 1m Distance (1m 거리에서 최적화된 안테나를 통한 공진방식 무선전력전송)

  • This paper has optimized WPT (wireless power transfer) antenna, and compared EM (electromagnetic) simulation result with measurement for the magnetic resonant type standard of A4WP (alliance for wireless power) using 6.78MHz frequency and 1m distance. Power transmission distance is affected by various factors such as system shape, antenna size, and resonator coil pitch etc, which were confirmed by the EM simulation. By simulation an optimized WPT antenna was designed for a fixed distance, and the transmission loss ${\mid}S_{21}{\mid}$ has been calculated with changing distance. Measurement was carried for the fabricated antenna, and the measured transmission loss is 1.5dB with 70% efficiency at maximum 1.3m distance compared to the simulated loss of 1.6dB with 69% efficiency

  • Unidirectional single-mode operation of a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser with a planar semimonolithic ring cavity has been demostrated at 1064 nm. The semimonolithic cavity consists of a laser active medium placed in a magnetic field, a crystal quartz plate, and an output coupling mirror. They form an optical diode by acting each part as a Faraday rotator, a reciprocal polarization rotator and a partial polarizer, respectively. An eigenpolarization theory for the cavity configuration was presented and losses for the eigenmodes were calculated. A pump-limited single-mode output power of 155 mW and a slope efficiency of 17% were obtained when the laser was pumped by a 1.2 W, 809 nm diode-laser. A laser linewidth of less than 100 kHz is inferred from a beat note frequency spectrum between two identical laser systems and continous single-mode tuning range was more than 2 GHz.

  • As the design complexity and performances are increased in satellite electronic board, noise related problems are also increased. To minimize the noise issues, various design improvements are performed by power integrity and signal integrity analysis in this research. Static power and dynamic power design are reviewed and improved by DC IR drop and power impedance analysis. Signal integrity design is reviewed and improved by time domain signal wave analysis and PCB(Printed Circuit Board) design modifications. And also power planes resonance modes are checked and mitigation measures are verified by simulation. Finally, it is checked that radiated noise is reduced after design improvements by EMC(Electro Magnetic Compatibility) RE(Radiated Emission) measurement results.

  • 최근 국내 반도체 기술의 비약적인 발전으로 전자 기기 전반에 소형화, 고주파화, 고기능화 등이 진행되는데 반해, 반도체 소자등에 전원을 공급하거나 회로 전체를 운용하는 전기 신호를 변조.증폭시키는데 반해, 반도체 소자등에 전원을 공급하거나 회로 전체를 운용하는 전기신호를 변조.증폭시키는 인덕터, 트랜스 포머와 같은 수동 자기 소자는 아직도 3차원 벌크 형태로 사용되고 있다. 일본을 중심으로 각국에서는 자기 소자의 박막.소형화에 대한 다각도의 연구가 진행되었으나 국내서는 아직 미미한 실정이다. 따라서 고집적 전원 공급 장치나 지능 센서 등에 반도체와 자기 소자의 사용 주파수 대역과 크기가 통합된 반도체-자성체 IC(semiconductor-magnetic integrated circuit)의 필요성이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 현재 사용중인 벌크형 인덕터나, 트랜스 포머의 경우 10NHz이상의 고주파 대역에는 응용되지 못하고 있다. 이는 적용된 자성체가 페라이트(ferrite)로서 초투자율은 크지만 고주파대역에서의 공진 현상에 의해 저투자율을 나타내고, 포화 자속밀도가 낮기 때문이다. 이러한 페라이트 자성체의 대체품으로 주목받고 있는 것이 Fe, Co계 고비저항 자성마이다. 그러나 Co는 낮은 포화자속밀도를 나타내기 때문에 이러한 조건을 충족시키는 자성막으로 Fe계 미세 결정막을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 선택적 전기 도금법(selective electroplating method)과 LIGA like process를 이용하여 공시형 인덕터(air core inductor)의 라이브러리(library)를 구축한 뒤, 고주파 대역에서의 우수한 연자기 특성을 가지는 Ti/FeTaN막을 적용한 자기 박막 인덕터(magnetic thin film inductor)를 제작하여 비교.분석하였다. 제조된 인덕터의 특성 추정은 impedence analyzer를 이용하여 주파수에 따른 저항(resistance), 인덕턴스(inductance)를 측정, 계산한 성능지수(quality factor)로서 인덕터의 성능을 평가하였다. 제조된 박막 인덕터의 코일 형상은 5턴의 double rectangular spiral 구조였으며, 적용된 자성막의 유효 투자율9effective permeability)은 1500, 자성막, 절연막 그리고 코일의 두께는 각각 2$\mu\textrm{m}$, 1$\mu\textrm{m}$, 20$\mu\textrm{m}$이며 코일의 폭은 100$\mu\textrm{m}$, 코일간의 간격은 100$\mu\textrm{m}$였다. 제조된 박막 인덕터는 5MHz에서 1.0$\mu$H의 인덕턴스를 나타내었으며 dc current dervability는 100mA까지 유지되었다.

The Characteristic Analysis of Thin Film Sensor using The Membrane (Membrane을 이용한 박막센서 특성 분석)

  • In this research, we investigate the properties of membrane and thin film sensor which is using magnetic resonance properties. we expect to $Si_xN_y$ and SiC materials as membrane materials, we measured thin film stress and properties to find the best membrane fabrication condition. Of the two membrane, $Si_xN_y$ thin film is the better than SiC thin film. because of an adequate tensile stress and lower thermal expansion coefficient as sensor structure layer. After performing deposition and patterning thin film sensor material on $Si_xN_y$, we analyzed the magnetic hysteresis and magnetic resonance frequency of sensor. If the magnetic field which is applied in sensor material is removed, magnetization made by magnetic field is transited to elastic mode. moreover. energy radiation is induced during the transition and voltage generates in sensor by energy radiation. At this moment, If voltage generation period is longer, mechanical vibration is induced and signal is generated by mechanical vibration. we also see that as the increase of thin film sensor' length and width, magnetic resonance frequency is decreased.
