Ultra-narrow Linewidth FBG Cavity DFB Laser with saturable Absorber (포화흡수체를 이용한 극미세선폭 FBG 공동 DFB 레이저)

  • A novel ultra-narrow linewidth single longtudinal mode DFB semiconductor laser in the extended FBG cavity is proposed. The 3㏈ linewidth of 20KHz was demonstrated by using self-heterodyne measurement set-up with a fiber delay line of 63km. And this linewidth was further compressed to less than 3KHz, which is resolution limited performance, by inserting E $r^{+3}$ doped fiber saturable absorber. This is equivalent to 3㏈ linewidth of 2$\times$10$^{-8}$ nm.

  • 기계적 합금화방법을 이용 실온에서 철분말의 질화물을 얻을 수 있다. 이때 얻어진 준안정 철질화물은 질소농도가 14.9[at. %N]이하에서는 bcc 구조의 과포화 고용체가, 그리고 19.4[at. %N]이상에서는 고온상인 hcp 구조임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 bcc상의 Fe원자당 Volume은 문헌에 보고된 N-martensite의 것보다 작은 값을 나타내었다. 제조된 철질화물의 실온 포화 자화값은 질소농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며, 이 결과는 bct 구조의 철질화물에서 질소농도가 증가함에 따라 자화값이 증가하는 것과 대조적이었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기를 위치센서 없이 기동하기 위해 회전자의 초기 위치를 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 자기 인덕턴스의 포화현상에 따른 고정자 전류를 해석하고 최소자승법을 통해 회전자의 초기 위치를 추정한다. 전 구간에서 회전자의 초기 위치와 극성을 정확하게 알아낼 수 있어 돌극성 때문에 나타나는 릴럭턴스 토크를 효과적으로 사용할 수 있다. 또한, 전동기 정수에 영향을 받지 않으므로 다양한 전동기 구동 시스템에 적용할 수 있으며, 추가적인 하드웨어가 필요하지 않아 경제적이다. 제안하는 방법의 유효성과 우수성은 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증한다.

  • CoFeNi alloys are some of the most studied soft magnetic materials because of their superial properties over FeNi alloys as write head core materials in HDD and MEMS. We studied the effect of magnetic property according to size and orientation of crystal for electroplated Co-Fe-Ni alleys. In case of heat treated ternary alloy, it affect the change of crystal size and structure. In this study, it intends to improve the magnetic properties of CoFeNi thin film by heat treatment. Minimized coercivity and increased magnetization are due to heat treatment from $300^{\circ}C\;to\;400^{\circ}C$. As a bcc phase formation, it grow to amount of magnetization.

  • 천문학적 유체는 강하게 자화되어 있는 경우가 많은데, 이러한 강한 자기장을 얻는 한 방법이 난류에 의한 자기장의 증폭이다. 플라즈마 효과나 기타의 이유로 약한 씨앗 자기장이 유체에 생길 경우, 난류는 이 씨앗 자기장을 매우 효과적으로 증폭시킬 수가 있다. 이 과정을 난류 다이너모라 하는데, 난류 다이너모는 주로 비압축성 난류 구동력을 사용하여 연구해 오고 있다. 비압축성 구동력을 사용할 때의 난류 다이너모 과정은 비교적 잘 규명되어 있다. 기존의 연구 결과에 의하면, 자기장의 세기는 지수 함수적 성장을 거친 후 선형적 성장 단계를 겪는다. 이후, 자기장의 에너지 밀도가 난류의 에너지 밀도와 비슷해지면 자기장은 더 이상 성장하지 못하고 포화 상태에 접어든다. 결론적으로 난류는 자기장이 동력학적으로 중요한 수준까지 증폭을 시킬 수 있다. 압축성 난류 구동력을 사용한 난류 다이너모 연구도 일부 존재하는데, 기존의 연구 결과에 의하면 다이너모 효과가 비압축성 구동력의 경우보다 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서는 압축성 구동력을 사용하여 난류 다이너모를 체계적으로 연구하였다. 특히 압축성 구동력과 비압축성 구동력이 난류 다이너모 효과에 어떤 차이를 주는지 체계적으로 비교하였다.

Soft Magnetic Properties of FeTaNC Nanocrystalline Thin Films (FeTaNC 초미세결정박막의 반응가스 분압에 따른 자기특성 변화)

  • Magnetic properties and microstructures of FeTaNC thin films, which were deposited by magnetron reactive sputtering rrethod, were investigated as a function of $CH_{4}$ and $N_{2}$ gas partial pressures. Magnetic properties of FeTaNC films depended on total reactive gas pressure as well as $CH_{4}/N_{2}$ pressure ratios. For reactive gas partial pressures of 5~10 %, optimum magnetic properties were observed in the FeTaNC films with proper $CH_{4}/N_{2}$ ratio. On the other hand, at 15% of gas partial pressure, FeTaN and FeTaC films showed superior properties to FeTaNC films. Above 15%, the magnetic properties of films rapidly degraded due to an excess incorporation of C and/or N atoms. Excellent soft magnetic properties of 17 kG of Bs, 0.3 Oe of He, and 4000 of $\mu'$(at 5 MHz) were obtained in the FeTaNC films. High permeabilities of FeTaNC films could be explained by the Fe lattice distortion caused by N atoms, hence reduction of magnetic anisotopy. While precipitated TaN and TaC particles effectively supress the growth of $\alpha-Fe$ grains leading to a good soft magentic properties, FeN and FeC phases such as $Fe_3N$, $Fe_4N$, FexC have detrimental effects.

  • The crystallographic and magnetic properties of the system of $Fe_{1-x}Co_x$(x=0.2 and 0.4) prepared by microwave arc-melting with the maximum power of 3.5 kW and a iron-foil with thickness of 25 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ have been studied by the methods of X-ray diffraction and the measurement of the magnetic hysteresis using the vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature. The samples were prepared in three different ways: First, pellet form pressed under the pressure of 9,000 N/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Second, the sheet cold rolled. Third, thin sheet treated with the temperature of 90$0^{\circ}C$. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the sample prepared by the first method shows that the crystal structure of the sample is bcc as same as that of Fe with a good uniformity. The iron-foil has the coercivity of 43 Oe and the initial slope of magnetization of 0.328 emu/gOe. The coervicity and magnetization of the sample prepared by the second method increased as the Co content increased. But the initial slop of the magnetization decreased as the Co content increased. This means that the displacement of domain wall is suppressed by the increases of coercivity as the Co content increased. The saturation magnetization of the samples made by the third method increased. On the other hand, the coercivity of these samples decreased. The increase of saturation magnetization of the samples seems to be related to the changes in X-ray intensity after heat treatment. Also some magnetic parameters of the samples were calculated by using a simple model and compared with other values.

Magnetic Properties of Cr-Doped Inverse Spinel Fe3O4 Thin Films (Cr 치환된 역스피넬 Fe3O4 박막의 자기적 특성)

  • By substituting Cr in inverse-spinel $Fe_3O_4,\;Cr_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ thin film samples were prepared by sol-gel spin-coating method and their structural electronic, and magnetic properties were analyzed. X-ray diffraction indicates that the lattice constant decrease with increasing Cr composition (x). This result can be explained in terms of occupation of octahedral sites by $Cr^{3+}$ ions with smaller ionic radius than that of $Fe^{3+}$ Vibrating sample magnetometry measurements on the samples at room temperature revealed that saturation magnetization ($M_s$) decrease by Cr substitution, explainable by comparing spin magnetic moment among the related transition-metal ions. A decrease of magnetoresistence effect with x was observed, similar to that of $M_s$. The coercivity of the $Cr_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ films was found to increase with x, attributed to the increase of magnetic anisotropy by the existence of octahedral $Cr^{3+}(d^3)$.

The Effects of Substituted $Co^{+2}$ and $Ti^{+4}$ Cations on Magnetic Properties and Particle Characteristics of Ba-Ferrite Powder for Use in High Density Magnetic Recording (고밀도 자기기록용 Ba-Ferrite 분말의 자기적 물성과 입자특성에 미치는 $Co^{+2}$$Ti^{+4}$의 효과)

  • The sites for $Fe^{+3}$ are partly substituted by $Co^{+2}$ and $Ti^{+4}$ cations to control coercivity of Ba-ferrite particles for use in high density magnetic recording. The substituted $Co^{+2}$ cation has very much different effects on magnetic properties and particle characteristics from that $Ti^{+4}$ cation has. The decrease in the coercivity with the $Co^{+2}$ substitution is attributed to the formation of excessive spinel-block(S-block) in pure Ba-ferrite crystal, while saturation magnetization is increased and the distributions of coercivity and particle size become broad. The substitution with the $Ti^{+4}$ decreases the sauration magnetization, but has less effect on a change in coercivity than the $Co^{+2}$. The $Ti^{+4}$ acts as a nucleation agent in amorphous phase of formulated compound, and consequently particle size and aspect ratio are decreased. Furthermore, the enhancement of substitution of the $Co^{+2}$ for the $Fe^{+3}$ sites in rhombohedral-block(R-block) by the $Ti^{+4}$ retards the nucleation of spinel phase of Ba-ferrite, which results in uniform magnetic properties of Ba-ferrite particles. It is suggested that the contents of the cations to be substituted for the $Fe^{+3}$ sites are optimized on the bases of magnetic properties and particle characteristics rather than on the base of electrical charge balance.

The Effect of Pr Additive on Magnetostriction of Amorphous Fe-B Alloy (Pr 첨가가 Fe-B 비정질합금의 자왜에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to invetigate the effect of Pr additive on the magnetostriction of amorphous Fe-B alloys, amorphous $Fe_{86-x}B_{14}Pr_{x}(2{\leq}x{\leq}8\;at.%)$ alloys were prepared by a rapid solidification process. As the Pr content increased in the as-prepared amorphous $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ alloy annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr increased to 70 ppm. Ac power loss and permeability$(f=50\;kHz,\;B_{m}=0.1\;T)$ of the annealed amorphous $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ alloy were 15 W/kg and $5.5{\times}10^{3}$, respectively.
