Comparative analysis of students and teachers' perceptions on internet-based learning style (사이버 학습에서 학습양식에 대한 학습자와 교수자의 인식차이 분석)

  • This study examined student's and teachers' perceptions of learning style on internet-based learning. Many research have studied student's learning style both in traditional learning settings and inter-based learning settings. These studies emphasized that student's learning style is one of the important indicators of establishing learning strategies and expecting positive learning outcomes. However, it has been rare to find the comparative analyses between learners and teachers to see how differently they perceive the learning style on internet-based learning. This study analyzed 386 elementary and 627 middle school students and 130 cyber teachers. They filled out the 15 items questionnaire on internet-based learning style. The results showed that the student's and teachers preferred the self-directed internet learning style rather than cooperative and dependent styles. However, the teachers judged the students more self-directed and dependent style preferred than the students self perception. In conclusion, this study suggests the differentiated teaching-learning design and development strategies on internet learning, especially based on subject matter. Also, there should be advanced tutor strategies considering learners' different learning styles. Finally, many research on internet learning styles should be conducted in various learning areas and learner ages and characteristics.

An Analysis of the Difficulties Faced by New Science Teachers in Secondary Schools (중등과학 초임교사가 교직수행과정에서 겪는 어려움 분석)

  • This study aimed to identify the difficulties that new science teachers in secondary schools experience. Subjects for this study were 190 science teachers attending qualifying training for 1st degree of teaching certificate. Using an open questionnaire, the difficulties these teachers encounter were collected, categorized, and compared between their first year and their succeeding years of teaching in terms of their school level, gender, majors and regions. Results showed that first year science teachers have had difficulties in areas including subject teaching, guidance, administrative affairs, human relationship and self-understanding. On their succeeding years, difficulties about subject teaching were reduced to half while other difficulties remained. New teachers in middle schools have experienced the most number of difficulties about guidance, while new teachers in general high schools have experienced the most number of difficulties about subject teaching. Based on these findings, some recommendations were proposed for new science teachers in secondary schools, school administrators, and training institutions.

Liu Zongzho's Thought of Four-Sentence Teaching and "Intention" ('의' 개념을 중심으로 본 유종주의 사구교 사상)

  • Generally transition of Thought from Wang Yangming(王陽明) to Liu Zongzhou(劉宗周) is construed from emphasis of subjectivity to emphasis of intention(意; Yi). This Transition from emphasis of subjectivity to emphasis of intention is definitely expressed between Wang Yangming's Four-Sentence Teaching(四句敎) and Liu Zongzhou's explanation of Wang Yangming's Four-Sentence Teaching. Wang Yangming's Four-Sentence Teaching evoked much controversy among scholars of Yangming school. Consequently Four-Sentence Teaching's controversy caused Yangming school's division. Also this was a representative controversy on the transition period from The Ming Dynasty to The Ching Dynasty. Liu Zongzhou's critique and exposition of Four-Sentence Teaching was result from this controversy. The difference between Wang Yangming's Xinxue(心學) and Liu Zongzhou' Xinxue(心學) is due to different interpretation of intention. As is generally known Wang Yangming interprets intention is in heart stiring, but Liu Zongzhou interprets intention is being before heart stiring, immanence in heart. Liu Zongzhou suggests new exposition of Four-Sentence Teaching on intention being before heart stiring, immanence in heart. Liu Zongzhou's critique and exposition is not only criticizing Yangming's Four-Sentence Teaching, but also solves troubles of the times. As a result he promotes theory of Xinxue(心學) being peculiar his own.

The Study on the Effect of Cultural Difference on Overseas Travel Market: A Comparison among Korea, China, U.S. and Japan (문화차이가 해외여행 시장에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 한·중·미·일 비교를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed valid samples of 707 units collected by conducting paper and online surveys on the Korean, the Chinese, the American, and the Japanese. The result showed that a significant causal relationship exists between power distance and pull motivation as well as collectivism and push motivation, which led to a conclusion that developing travel packages that can strengthen bonding of fraternal societies through various events and attractions is effective for respondents from Asian countries. On the other hand, Americans turned out to prefer practical plans, which could provide individual's needs and preferences, for example, a self-healing package. This study, using a simple survey, may have a limitation in that it does not allow the participants to express their opinions. However, the study is meaningful that it made a theoretical contribution utilizing Hofstede's cultural dimensions index, two types of motivation, and theories of customer satisfaction and revisit intention. It also has a practical implication in that it proposes the most optimal and applicable overseas travel marketing strategy by comparing cultural traits of each country.

Effects of Leader Selection Procedure and Collective Efficacy on Group Performance (리더 선출 방법과 집단 효능감이 집단수행에 미치는 영향)

  • This study expanded the superiority of random leader selection procedure on group decision-making task to actual group performance task, and examined the interaction effects of leader selection procedure(LSP) and collective efficacy(CE) on group performance. 2(LSP: formal/random)×2(CE: low/high) between subject design was used. The result revealed the significant main effect of LSP, which showed that groups with random leader performed better than those with formally selected leader. Further, significant interaction effect of LSP and CE revealed that when group's CE was high, group with random leader performed better than group with formally selected leader, and the difference between two groups was not significant when group's CE was low. These results suggested that LSP should not impair shared social identity of the group in order to maintain the positive effect of CE on group performance. The necessity for expanding these results to work team was discussed.

A Study on the Self-Excited Mixing effect of IMPATT Diodes (IMPATT 다이오드의 백여혼합에 관한 연구)

  • Theoretical analysis is carried out for the beat frequency generation phenomena in the IMPATT diodes an4 the experimental studies are given in parrallel. The theory is based on the space charge modulation effect introduced to the multiplication process by the input signal. Computed results show that the beat frequency output power is linearly dependent upon the signal power and self oscillating power. Also the strong dependence of the output power with respect to the diode negative resistance is found and it turns out that the larger the negative resistance, the stronger the beat frequency output power. Experimental results show a good agreement with the theoretical values. Calculated conversion gain is about -0.4[db] at 10[GHz] and the experimental value shows -6.2[db] below this value. This difference between the theoretical and the experimental values is considered to be the results of the ineffective injection of signal power.

  • The purpose of this study verify to the effect of applying the X-ray screening ability rating for security screening persons in Incheon International Airport. Data collected through a evaluation score of 1,034 security screening persons in Incheon International Airport. Data analysis performed using paired sample t-test. The research results found that it was a statistically significant difference pre-test and post-test applying the X-ray screening ability rating. In this article, we asserts that the X-ray screening ability rating is effective in improving the X-ray screening ability of security screening persons. This paper contribute to the academic expansion of motivation theory and self-determination theory. This study is valuable as a preemptive empirical research that provides practical implications about the application of X-ray screening ability rating for security screening persons.

ULF electromagnetic variation associated with seismic wave (지진파에 의해 발생하는 ULF 전자기장 변동)

  • The electromagnetic signals associated with the seismic activity in the south-east offshore of Kii peninsula, Japan, were clearly recorded at the MT sites in Jeju island, Korea. In this research, we have identified the co-seismic electromagnetic signals associated with the seismic activity and have analyzed the characteristics of significant electromagnetic variations. The analysis of phase velocity, power spectral density, MT impedance and polarization direction shows that the significant earthquake signals have the frequency band of about 0.05 to 0.5 Hz and that the sources of electromagnetic field are local effects of passing seismic waves. The simple approximation using electrokinetic effect successfully explains the co-seismic EM signals coincides with measured data but cannot explain the localities of electromagnetic variations.

Excursion-Set Modeling of the Splashback Mass Function and its Cosmological Usefulness (Splashback 질량함수의 Excursion-Set Modeling과 우주론적 유용성)

  • 일반화된 excursion set 이론과 자기 유사 구형 유입(Self-similar spherical infall) 모형에 기반하여 Splashback 질량함수에 대한 해석적 단일 매개변수 모델을 착안하였다. Planck/WMAP7 관측결과를 토대로 구축된 EREBOS N-Body 시뮬레이션의 수치적 결과의 해석적 모델을 이용한 회귀분석을 통해 단일 매개변수이자 Splashback 경계의 확산적 특성을 수치화하는 확산계수(Diffusion Coefficient)의 추정치를 계산하였다. 계산된 확산계수를 적용한 해석적 모델과 수치적 결과가 5 ≤ M/(1012h-1 M) < 103의 질량범위에서 매우 근접히 일치하는 것을 보였으며 Baysian and Akaike Information Criterion 검정을 통해 0.3 ≤ z ≤ 3의 범위에서 기존의 모델들보다 본 모델이 선호 돼야함을 확인하였다. 또한 확산계수가 적색편이에 대하여 선형진화에 근접한 변화를 보임을 발견하였으며, 특정 임계 적색편이(zc)를 기준으로 확산계수가 0에 수렴함을 발견하였다. 더 나아가 두 Planck모델과 WMAP7모델에서 도출된 확산계수는 서로 상당한 차이를 보였다. 이 결과는 암흑물질 헤일로의 splashback 질량함수가 z ≥ zc에서 매개변수가 없는 온전한 해석적 모델로 설명되고 zc가 독립적으로 우주의 초기조건을 독립적으로 특정지을 수 있는 가능성을 지님을 시사한다. 이 초록은 The Astrophysical Journal의 Ryu & Lee 2021, ApJ, 917, 98 (arxiv:2103.00730) 논문을 바탕으로 작성되었다.

Cyberbullying Victimization Experience on SNSs: Focusing on Self-disclosure, Compulsive Internet Use, and Depressive Status (SNS상에서 사이버불링 피해경험: 자기노출, 강박적 인터넷 사용 그리고 우울한 상태 중심으로)

  • Cyberbullying has become a critical issue as people (especially, young people) daily use social networking sites (SNSs). This study investigates possible factors affecting cyberbullying victimization experiences, comparing SNS users in Austria and Korea. Particularly, this study focuses on how individuals' self-disclosure patterns, compulsive Internet use, and depressive status are related to four different types of cyberbullying victimization experiences (written-verbal, visual, exclusion, and impersonation). Furthermore, the results are compared between SNS users in Austria and Korea. Results from total 519 respondents show that self-disclosure patterns on SNSs, compulsive Internet use, and depressive status are positively related to different types of cyberbullying victimization experiences. However, there are differences between Austria and Korea. For example, the frequency of changing one's profile setting is positively related to all types of cyberbullying victimization experiences in Korea, while it is only positively related to victimization experience of visual cyberbullying in Austria. Depressive status is only positively related to victimization experience of written-verbal cyberbullying in Korea, while it is positively related to all types of cyberbullying victimization experience in Austria.
