A study on an Electronic Ballast Using LC Reasonance Circuit for Fluorescent Lamps (LC공진회로를 이용한 형광등용 전자안정기에 관한 연구)

  • 고효율을 갖는 고주파점등용 전자식 안정기 개발에 대한 연구이다. 안정기 입력단에 LC병렬공진회로를 연결하고 출력단에서 LC직렬공진회로를 이용함으로써 효율을 향상시켰다. 안정기에 대한 회로상의 주요 착상을 중심으로 동작을 설명하였으며 실용회로를 구성하여 성능을 실험하였다. 그 결과 개발된 전자식안정기의 40W 형광램프에 적용시 형광등과 안정기의 총 소비전력은 35W였으며 이는 기존 국내의 전자식 안정기의 적용시 소비전력에 대해 10%가 향상된 것이다. 고조파특성 또한 기존 자기식안정기 수준으로 향상되었다.

Igniter design methods of the ballasts for Ceramic Metal Halide lamp (세라믹 메탈할라이드 램프용 안정기의 점화기 설계 방법)

  • We described the operating principles of two different type of igniters for lightning of Ceramic Metal Halide Lamp(CMHL) and also provide some useful comparisons. One is for magnetic ballast, the other one is for electronic ballast which operates lamp by low-frequency square-waveform. Ignition voltage of lamp depends on the structure of igniter, such as the length and electrical characteristics of cable, which make troubles for ignition in real sites. Therefore, we measured and analyzed ignition voltages from igniters which are used in magnetic and electronic ballast in cables at a distance of 5 meters between a lamp and a igniter to suggests an applicable solution in real sites.

A Transient Model Analysis of a Fluorescent Lamp at Startup Time (형광램프의 기동시 과도특성 모델 해석)

  • Fluorescent lamps are widely accepted to energy efficient commercial lighting applications. In designing a fluorescent lamp system, a ballast design heavily relies on the characteristic of a fluorescent lamp under consideration. Especially, at startup time, the transient characteristic of a fluorescent lamp puts much tighter specification of a design. In this paper, based on the transient characteristic at the startup time, a transient behavioral model of a fluorescent lamp is presented with an equivalent circuit. The model is applicable to the wide range of fluorescent lamps provided by different manufacturers. The experimental results are compared with the results provided by PSPICE simulation. The result shows the model is effective In practice. As a result, we could identify more accurate startup constraints to decide the design of either an electro mechanical or an electronic ballast.
