Correction Method of Wiener Spectrum (WS) on Digital Medical Imaging Systems (디지털 의료영상에서 위너스펙트럼(Wiener spectrum)의 보정방법)

  • Noise evaluation for an image has been performed by root mean square (RMS) granularity, autocorrelation function (ACF), and Wiener spectrum. RMS granularity stands for standard deviation of photon data and ACF is acquired by integration of 1 D function of distance variation. Fourier transform of ACF results in noise power spectrum which is called Wiener spectrum in image quality evaluation. Wiener spectrum represents noise itself. In addition, along with MTF, it is an important factor to produce detective quantum efficiency (DQE). The proposed evaluation method using Wiener spectrum is expected to contribute to educate the concept of Wiener spectrum in educational organizations, choose the appropriate imaging detectors for clinical applications, and maintain image quality in digital imaging systems.

  • The Maglev train is operated by levitating from a power of a large number of magnets and moving without direct contact to railway track so that reduces noise and vibration due to mechanical friction. Also, the Maglev passes sharp curves and steep hill without any difficulties. The Maglev has a potential to be an alternative transport system urban areas. For successful commercializing of Maglev, the organization of interface for safety and reliability of third rail system are one of the key considerations. Especially, the components of the third rail system, such as power rail, expansion joints, FRP section insulator, and supporter with epoxy insulator, should be durable, convenient for construction, and easy to maintenance. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the third rail system components and proposes organization of interface for system engineering. The operating tests of KIMM for the proposed third rail system verify the safety. Also, this paper analyzes the life cycle of the system components to improve the system reliability and evaluation.

  • The removal of radioactive corrosion products from the reactor coolant through a magnetic filter system is one of the many approaches being investigated as a means to reduce radiation sources and exposures to the operational and maintenance personnel in a nuclear power plant. Many research activities in water chemistry, therefore, have been performed to provide a filtration system with high reliability and feasibility and are still in process. In this study, it was devised the magnetic filter system with permanent and electric magnets to remove the corrosion products in the coolant stream taking an advantage of the magnetic properties of corrosion particles. Permanent magnets were used for separation of corrosion products and electric magnets were utilized for flocculation of colloidal particles to increase in their size. Experiments using only permanent magnets, in the previous study, displayed the satisfactory outcome of filtering corrosion products and indicated that the removal efficiency was more than 90 $\%$ for above 5 $\mu$m particles. Experiments using electric magnets also showed the good performance of flocculation without chemical agents and exhibited that most corrosion particles were flocculated into larger aggregates about 5 $\mu$m and over in diameter. It is, thus, expected that the magnetic filter system with the arrangement of permanent and electric magnets will be an effective way for the removal of radioactive corrosion products with considerably high removal efficiency.

Effects of Educational Training and Psychosocial Characteristics on Job Involvement in Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 교육훈련, 자기효능감 및 사회적 지지가 직무몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of educational training and psychosocial characteristics such as self-efficacy and social support on job involvement in dental hygienists. A total of 418 dental hygienists who were working in S, I and G area were recruited in this study. A self-administered questionnaire was used to evaluate individual and job characteristics, educational training, self-efficacy and social support of the study subjects. Hierarchical regression analysis was performed to examine the relationship of individual and job characteristics, educational training, self-efficacy and social support to job involvement. All statistical analyses were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 20.0 for Windows, and p<0.05 was considered significant. The results show that learning experiences of liberal arts or social sciences as a part of college curriculum (t=-2.406), self-efficacy (t=3.728) and social support at work (t=4.391) were significantly associated with job involvement in dental hygienists. Dental hygienists who were having experiences of liberal arts or social sciences as a part of college curriculum, showing higher levels of self-efficacy, and receiving adequate social support from supervisors or coworkers at work were more likely to feel job involvement. They explained 17.4% of total variance of job involvement. This result suggests that experiences of liberal arts or social sciences as a part of college curriculum, higher levels of self-efficacy, and adequate social support from supervisors or coworkers at work might play an important role in increasing job involvement of dental hygienists. It is strongly required to develop individual and organizational program or training to promote a positive attitude to their job as a key professionals in the field of dental health, and to increase job involvement of dental hygienists.

Experimental Study on the Manufacturing and Waterproofing Properties of Self-healing Concrete Waterproofing Agent Using Microcapsules (마이크로캡슐을 활용한 자기치유 구체방수제의 제조 및 방수특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the development of a self-healing concrete waterproofing agent was examined, focusing on its manufacturing and waterproofing properties. The optimal ratio using microcapsules for the concrete waterproofing agent was determined through assessments of flow, compressive strength, and permeability conducted during the mortar stage. These findings aimed to provide fundamental data for evaluating the self-healing properties of the concrete waterproofing agent designed for use in concrete structures. The self-healing concrete waterproofing agent was comprised of three types of inorganic materials commonly used for repair purposes. From experimental results, a composition ratio with a high potassium silicate content, referred to as SIM-2, was found suitable. A surfactant mixing ratio of 0.03 % was identified to enhance the dispersibility of the concrete waterproofing agent, while a mixing ratio of 0.2 % distilled water was deemed suitable for viscosity adjustment. For the magnetic self-healing concrete waterproofing agent's healing agent, using microcapsules in the range of 0.5 % to 0.7 % met the KS F 4949 and KS F 4926 standards.

  • In order to extend the life time of building and civil infra-structure, nowadays, patch type fibrous composite materials are widely used. Retrofitted concrete columns and beams gain the stiffness and strength, but they lose toughness and show brittle failure. Usually, the cracks of concrete structures are visible with naked eyes and the status of the structure in the life cycle is estimated with visible inspection. After retrofitting of the structure, crack visibility is blocked by retrofitted composite materials. Therefore, structural monitoring after retrofitting is indispensible and self diagnosis method with optical fiber sensor is very useful. In this paper, We try to detect peel out effect and find the strain difference between main structure and retrofitting patch material when they separate each other.

  • To develop the most effect maintenance system of urban MAGLEV train which is being developed based on system engineering, logistics belong to special system engineering were applied to maintenance system and Integrated Logistic Supports (ILS) were employed to tailor every step of MAGLEV project. Since ILS had not been applied to domestic train project, the followings were studied to validate ILS: 1) case studies on maintenance procedures at home and abroad, 2) overview of standardized process of ILS, 3) Comparison and analysis of relationship between RAMS and ILS, 4) Application of ILS to MAGLEV maintenance system and other domestic train system.

  • 전동차용 견인전동기 시스템은 저항 및 쵸퍼 제어에 의한 직류 전동기 방식에서 인버터 제어에 의한 유도전동기 방식으로 발전하였다. 오늘날 유도전동기 기술은 어느 정도 성숙기에 접어들었지만 최근에는 소음 제거, 효율 극대화 및 유지보수 비용 절감 등의 이점이 있는 감속기를 제거한 직접 구동용 영구자석 전동기가 새로이 각광받고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자기적 포화특성이 심한 영구자석 전동기를 대상으로 비선형 수치 해석 기법을 적용하여 운전조건별 특성해석 및 설계기술에 대해 나타내었다.

  • 기존의 시스템보다 유지, 보수 및 재사용성이 높은 분산시스템인 컴포넌트를 이용하여 프로젝트의 계획과 흐름 등을 관리하는 Project Management System을 구현하였다. PMS는 인트라넷으로 서로 연결된 네트워크를 통해 프로젝트의 인원관리 및 일정관리등 프로젝트에 관한 종합적인 관리를 실시간으로 할 수 있는 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 기존의 다른 시스템과 는 달리 비즈니스로직과 UI로직이 분리 되어있어서 재사용과 시스템아키텍처의 유연성을 높였다. 자기가 원하는 기능이 있는 컴포넌트들을 조립하여 사용하거나, 새로운 기능을 가진 컴포넌트를 추가하여, 기관에 맞는 새로운 시스템을 구축 할 수가 있다.

경량전철계획시 고려되어야 할 특성들

  • 우리 나라에서 사용되고 있는 경량전철의 의미는 특정 대중교통수단을 지칭하기보다는 좀 더 폭넓은 의미로서 기존 지하철 또는 전철과 같이 대용량보다는 적으나, 도시버스나 직행버스와 같이 기존의 우리 나라에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 교통수단보다 용량이 큰 대중교통수단을 의미한다. 본 글에서는 각종 경량전철시스템들의 국내 적용 시 고려되어야 할 측면들을 분석한다. 수송용량, 비용, 운영, 시설, 이용자 측면에서 경량전철의 국내 적용가능성을 검토해 보고 현재 우리 나라에서 추진되고 있는 경량전철계획중 주요 문제점과 대처방안을 논한다. 현재 정부의 재원조달방안으로는 경량전철사업의 추진은 매우 어려울 것으로 보인다. 이들 타개하기 위해서는 먼저 중앙정부의 과감한 보조가 선행되어야 한다. 선진국과 같이 초기투자비에서 자기자본비율을 줄일 수 있도록 중앙정부와 해당지방자치단체에서 총 공사비의 최소 50% 이상을 지원하여야 한다. 외국에서의 운영사례와 시스템 평가경험에서 보더라도 기존 이국에서 운행되고 있는 대부분의 경량전철시스템들이 국내에서 요구하는 수송용량 등의 기본 요구사항을 만족할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 시스템의 선정은 시스템의 가격, 유지보수시의 국내기술적용 정도 및 국산화 등 협상시의 계약조건이 시스템이 결정에 중요한 요인이 될 것으로 보인다.
