The access monitoring and control system of vehicles involved in construction logistics has been evolved from paper-based through bar code-based and to RFID-based management with pursuing automatic data collection and management. However, existing management methods have a limit that they still need manpower allocation for access control of vehicles. Therefore this research has proposed an framework that includes devices and an information system for effective and efficient data collection for access control of vehicles for construction logistics. And the proposed framework has been verified through a laboratory test using a prototype system developed in this research. It is expected that the installation methods of RFID antenna and tag for the framework could be applied to not only the access control of construction site but also various RFID applications at construction sites.

Resource managing is very difficult because the multimedia data compressed by a VBR shows a bit rate change within high range, Therefore, the VOD server should use the prefetch method in order to improve system utilization, such as prefetching data in the overload period by a meta table that is the reference pattern of MPEG data which is analyzed off line. This prefetch method will not result in a failure to display at overload, however, this method can not keep a minimum loading time and low costs, because the prefetched section is being maximizes. In this paper, we suggest another method that the system utilization can be improved using the fixed prefetched section to keep loading time and costs under a constant range at overload. But this technique will result in a failure to display, due to fixed prefetched section. Rut, in this paper we suggest a drop module that drops only the B frame in the GOP, consistently distributes a lower drop in media quality for the user.

End-member (EM) analysis of grain-size distribution data for detrital fractions of IODP Site U1430 core sediments from the South Korea Plateau (East Sea) identified 4 EMs grain-size populations (EM) which represent either Asian dusts (Hwangsa) or volcanic ashes. The two EMs representing volcanic ashes consist of fine and coarse glass shards with various morphologies and constitute 0-82% of the total grain-size distributions. The 33% mixing percentage of volcanic ash EMs seems appropriate for a cut-off value for discrimination of grain-size data influenced by volcanic ash input from those dominated by Hwangsa.
