Cr-Mo鋼 熔接熱影響部의 破壞靭性과 熔接入熱量에 관한 硏究 II

  • Post weld heat treatment (PWHT) is carried out to increase the fracture toughness in heat affected zone(HAZ) and remove the residual stress. There occur some problems such as toughness decreement and stress relief cracking(SRC) in the coarse grained HAZ subjected to the effect of tempering treatment. Especially, embitterment of structure directly relates to the mode of fracture and is appeared as the difference of fracture surface, that is, grain boundary failure. Therefore, in this paper, PWHT was carried out under the stress of 0, 10, 20 and $30kg/cm^2$ to simulate residual stress in HAZ welded by heat input of 10, 30 and 40KJ/cm. Applied stress in weld HAZ during PWHT assisted precipitin of over saturated alloying element in the structure, and grain boundary failure according to welding heat input didn't almost appear at the heat input of 10 KJ/cm, but it appeared from being the applied stress of $30kg/cm^2$ at $30KJ/cm and 20kg/mm^2$ at 40KJ/cm.

  • The effect of applied stress, current density and heat-treatment after welding on the time to fracture, fracture behavior was investigated by the method of constant load tensile testing under catholic charging with hydrogen in E.B. welded 250,300 Grade 18% Ni Maraging steel sheet. The main results obtained are as follows: 1. All specimen showed the characteristic delayed failure and the time to fracture showed decreasing tendency with the increase in current density and applied stress. 2. Hydrogen embitterment susceptibility of notched specimen after solution-treatment and aging after welding was more increased than that of aged smooth specimen and as welded specimen. 3. Fracture surface showed a typical intergranular fracture on the border, a dimple pattern in the center of specimen and some quasi-cleavage fracture between the intergranular and the dimple.

  • 본 연구에서는 SiC 및 SiC-TiB$_{2}$복합재료의 마모 및 마모천이기구를 비교 실험한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 두 재료의 마모천이현상은 각각의 하중이 200N(SiC)과 80N(SiC-TiB$_{2}$)이상에서 나타나게 되었다. 마모기구는 임계미끄럼시간에서 두 단계로 나뉘어진다. 소성변형에 의한 grooving과정과 잔류응력에 의한 grain pull-out과정들로써 미세 구조를 통해 관찰할 수 있었다. grain pull-out과정은 초기단계에서 부터 생성된 전위가 축적되어 잔류응력을 발생시키므로 일어난 과정이다. SiC에 TiB$_{2}$를 첨가하므로 마모는 더욱 심하게 일어나게 되었다. 입계의 강도를 더 약하게 하였기 때문이다. 그러나, 파괴인성은 입계강도가 약할수록 증가하였다. 결국 파괴인성이 큰 재료가 마모는 더 심하게 일어남으로 서로 상반된 관계를 갖고 있슴을 결론지을 수 있었다.

Crack propagation behavior of in-situ structural gradient Ni/Ni-aluminide//Ti/Ti-aluminide laminate materials (Ni/Ni-aluminide//Ti/Ti-aluminide 구조경사형 층상재료의 균열 전파 거동)

  • Ni/Ni-aluminide/Ti/Ti-aluminide laminate composite, considered as a functionally gradient material, was manufactured by thin foil hot press technique. Thick intermetallic layers of NiAl and $TiAl_3$ were formed by a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reaction, and thin continuous taters of $Ni_3Al$ and TiAl were formed by a solid-state diffusion. Fracture resistance with loading along the crack arrester direction is higher than crack divider direction due to the interruption of crack growth in metal layers. The $Ni_3Al$ and NiAl intermetallic layer showed cleavage and intergranular fracture behavior, respectively, while the fracture mode of $TiAl_3$ layer was found to be an intragranular cleavage. The debonding between metal and intermetallic layer and the pores were observed in the Ni/Ni-aluminide layers, resulting in the lower fracture resistance. With the results of acoustic emission (AE) source characterization the real time of failure and the effect of AE to crack growth could be monitored.

Stress rupture properties and fracture behavior of Ni microalloyed W (W 활성소결체의 응력 파단성 및 파괴 거동에 관한 연구)

  • Stress rupture properties and fracture behavior of Ni microalloyed W were studied using direct load creep tester at 100$0^{\circ}C$, 110$0^{\circ}C$ and 120$0^{\circ}C$ in $H_2$. At the same grain size, 15${\mu}$m, the 100hr. stress rupture strength of W-0.4wt% Ni was 23% higher than that of W-0.2wt%Ni due to the grain growth during test. The minimum creep rate of W-0.2wt%Ni was decreased with an increase in initial grain size. By increasing the Ni content of Ni microalloyed W, rupture time was increased owing to the smaller number and size of cavity. All the specimens showed intergranular fracture by grain boundary sliding and nucleation, growth and coalescence of cavities at grain boundary.

고온의 염기성 수용액에서 Ni기 합금의 응력부식파괴

  • Alloy 600 및 alloy 690과 Ni-8Cr-lOFe 합금 등의 응력부식(stress corrosion cracking, SCC) 거동을 고온의 염기성 분위기에서 C-ring 시편을 사용하여 연구하였다. Alloy 600과 alloy 690을 여러 조건에서 열처리하여 etching한 후 탄화물의 분포와 입계 주변의 Cr고갈 정도 등의 미세조직을 광학현미경과 주사 전자현미경(SEM)으로 관찰하였다. 이들 재료에 대한 SCC 시험을 315$^{\circ}C$의 40% NaOH 수용액에서 일정한 부하전위(부식전위 + 200㎷)를 가하면서 수행하였으며, 동일 조건에서의 분극거동도 측정하였다. Alloy 600 MA(mill anneal) 및 TT(thermal treatment)의 SCC 저항성은 alloy 690 TT와 Ni-8Cr-10Fe SA(solution anneal)보다 낮았다. Alloy 600 TT 재료는 alloy 600 MA 및 SA 재료에 비해 SCC 저항성이 더 컸다. 고용 탄소농도는 alloy 600의 SCC 저항성에 큰 영향을 주지 못했다. 대부분의 Alloy 600은 균열전파 입계균열을 보였으나, 일부에서는 입계 및 입내 혼합양상(mixed mode cracking)을 보였다. 염기성 분위기에서 Ni기 합금의 SCC 거동을 미세조직, 분극거동의 관점에서 고찰하였다.

Microstructures of Multi-layer Ce-TZP/Ce-TZP-$Al_2$$O_3$Composites (Ce-TZP/Ce-TZP-$Al_2$$O_3$다층구조 복합체의 미세구조)

  • 16 mole%의 CeO$_2$가 고용된 Ce-TZP 소결체 사이에 140~240$mu extrm{m}$ 두께의 Ce-TZP-5~30 vol% $Al_2$O$_3$중간층이 삽입된 층상복합체를 분말건식가압성형법에 의해 제조하였다. 소결온도는 $Al_2$O$_3$가 5~30 vol.% 첨가될 때 90% 이상의 소결밀도를 얻을 수 있도록 1$600^{\circ}C$로 정하였다. 이러한 3층 복합체에서 바깥의 Ce-TZP 지역에서의 파괴 형태는 입내파괴를 보여주었지만 $Al_2$O$_3$가 함유된 중간층에서는 입계파괴가 전이되면서 인성증가를 보여주었다. 이러한 층상 복합체의 경우 중간 층에 들어가는 Ce-TZP 중의 $Al_2$O$_3$함량이 30 vol.% 정도에 이르면 층간의 서로 다른 소결밀도 및 수축율, 열팽창계수 때문에 층간 소결 결함이 생겨 층간에서 균열의 전파가 큰 영향을 받음을 알 수 있었다. 반면 중간층의 $Al_2$O$_3$함량이 적을 경우 층간 결함이 생기지 않아 층간에서 균열의 전파가 별 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

Effect of Cd addition on the Fatigue Properties of Al-Cu-Mn cast alloy (Al-Cu-Mn 주조합금의 피로성질에 미치는 Cd 첨가의 영향)

  • Effect of Cd addition on the fatigue properties of Al-Cu-Mn cast alloy was investigated by low and high cycle fatigue tests. With increasing Cd content, fatigue life and tensile strength were increased. It was found that the fatigue strength was 115MPa and the fatigue ratio was 0.31. Metallographic observation revealed that the fatigue crack initiated at the surface and propagated along the grain boundary. This propagation path was attributed to the presence of PFZ along the grain boundary. The tensile strength increased from 330MPa in the Cd-free Al-Cu- Mn cast alloy to 401MPa in the 0.15%Cd-containing alloy.

Effects of High Temperature Deformation and Thermal Exposure on Carbide Reaction Cast Alloy 738LC (고원변형과 열간노출에 따른 주조용 합금 738LC의 탄화물 분해거동 고찰)

  • Fracture mode and carbide reactions of cast alloy 738LC during thermal exposure and creep at 816$^{\circ}C$/440MPa and 982$^{\circ}C$/152MPa were investigated. Crystallographic transgranular failure was observed in the specimen crept at 816$^{\circ}C$ due to shearing on the slip plane. Because selective oxidation at the grainboundaries which was exposed at the surface leads reduction in surface energy, however, early initiation of crack at the grainboundaries and intergranular failure were observed in the specimen crept at 982$^{\circ}C$/152MPa. As a result of decomposition of MC carbide at the tested temperatures, M(sub)23C(sub)6 carbide precipitated either on the grainboundaries or on the deformation band. The applied stress enhanced decomposition of MC. $\sigma$phase nucleated from Cr(sub)23C(sub)6 then grew to the ${\gamma}$+${\gamma}$\\` matrix. Precipitation of $\sigma$was accelerated by increasing temperature and applied stress.
