Bone Cements in TTCP, DCPA, β-TCP and PHA System (TTCP-DCPA-β-TCP-PHA계 골 시멘트)

  • The effect of $\beta$-TCP and PHA as additives on initial setting time, compressive strength and surface micro-structure after in vitro test of bone cement in TTCP and DCPA system was investigated. The median particle sizes of TTCP, $\beta$-TCP, DCPA and PHA for bone cement were about 3, 5, 0.9 and 4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. Initial setting time and compressive strength of bone cement with various composition was measured by Vicat test and Universal Testing Machine, and surface morphology and crystalline phases of bone cements were observed and analyzed by SEM and x-ray diffractometer. Initial setting time was not affected by composition but by powder/liquid ratio, and cement with PHA required double amount of solution for paste as much as one without PHA, especially. It was thought that $\beta$-TCP and PHA in bone cements was not related to setting reaction. Thus, the addition of $\beta$-TCP and PHA in bone cements decreased compressive strength and inhabited HAP from being produced on surface in vitro test. In conclusion, it was not expected that $\beta$-TCP and PHA in TTCP-DCPD bone cements enhanced the strength and bioacitivity.

Changes in Physical Properties of Salted Egg Yolks as Affected by Salt Content During Frozen Storage and Their Effects (가염량이 다른 난황의 냉동저장 중 물성 및 마요네즈 제조적성 변화)

  • The changes in Physical properties of egg yolk(refractive index 43) as affected by salt content(7%, 10%, 13%) during frozen storage and their effects on functionalities in mayonnaise preparation were investigated. As the frozen storage period of salted egg yolk increased, viscosity was increased, and further increased with higher salt content, and emulsification capacity was gradually decreased. In case of egg folk with 7% salt, emulsification capacity was considerably decreased during the storage at $-25^{\circ}C$ over 4 months. Microbes of salted egg yolk were decreased with frozen storage, but the difference was not due to salt content. Mayonnaise. Prepared with frozen egg yolks stored for $2{\sim}3$ months, maintained a minimum viscosity. Viscosity became higher in the mayonnaise which prepared with egg yolk of higher salt content stored at $-25^{\circ}C$. Oil particle size of mayonnaise with the yolk contained more salt was smaller, when the yolk was stored at $-25^{\circ}C$ than $-15^{\circ}C$. Noticible microbes were detected in the mayonnaise right after preparation, but not detected in the mayonnaise after 1 month storage.

Synthesis of ITO Nano-Particles by SAS Method and Preparation for Conductive PET Film with Multi-Layers (SAS법을 이용한 ITO 나노입자의 합성과 적층 도포된 PET 도전필름의 제조)

  • The multi-layer PET film of ITO/ATO was prepared by a wet coating method to obtain the transparent film with a high conductance at low cost. ITO nano-particles were synthesized by a SAS method at 15 MPa and $50^{\circ}C$, where optimized rate of In/Sn was 65. Average diameter and resistivity of ITO obtained from SAS are $15{\pm}2nm$ and $4{\times}10^4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. Coating solution was prepared at pH 10. Roughness (Ra), resistivity, and transmissivity of ATO film on PET are 9 nm, $5.5{\times}10^6{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, and 91%. The multi-layered film of ITO/ATO was obtained by solution including 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 ITO wt% on ATO layer. Roughness (Ra) of multi-layered film with 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 ITO wt% is 4, 10, 12, and 16 nm, respectively. Corresponding resistivity with an increasing ITO concentration is $3.7{\times}10^6$, $2.4{\times}10^6$, $8{\times}10^5$, and $2{\times}10^5{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. Transmissivity of ITO/ATO film decreases as 89, 88, 86, and 82% with an increasing ITO concentration as 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 wt%.

Sterilizing Effect of Plant Pathogenic Fungi using Ozone Microbubble (오존마이크로버블을 이용한 식물병원균 살균효과)

  • Sterilization is an important factor in reprocessing of drained nutrient solution (RDN). To evaluate the suitability of ozone microbubble for RDN in protected horticulture and plant factory, strong fungicidal activity of ozone and microbubble were applied. This experiment was taken advantage of ozonated water (OW) and ozone gas (OG). The Fusarium oxysporum (FO), Phytophthora capsici (PC) and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (CG) were treated with OW 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 ppm and OG $3.0g{\cdot}h^{-1}$ for 0, 30, 60, 120 and 180 sec. Results of this experiment can be summed up as follows : In the OW, FO was sterilized by 0.5 ppm in 60 sec and PC was sterilized by 2.0 ppm in 30 sec. In the OG, FO and PC both of them were sterilized in 180 sec. However, CG was not sterilized using OW and OG. Overall, ozone microbubble showed possibility of sterilization in RDN. However, CG is required to more ozone concentration and processing time.

  • 현재 국내에서 시행되고 있는 '4대강 살리기 사업'은 하천에서 발생하는 홍수 및 가뭄재해방지를 위한 다양한 공학적 노력을 시도하고 있다. 특히 안정적인 수위 및 유량확보와 홍수방지를 위한 보(weir)가 4대강 유역에 16개 설치되고 있다. 이러한 보 구간에는 고정보와 가동보가 복합적으로 설치되고 있으며 가동보는 그 형상과 운영방식에 따라 다양한 설계방안이 적용되었다. '4대강 살리기 사업' 중 낙동강 23공구의 강정보 공사 구간에는 원호형태의 측면 형상을 갖는 라이징 섹터게이트(Rising sector gate)가 적용되었다. 라이징 섹터게이트는 구조물의 높이가 낮고 수문의 개폐장치가 수문피어 구조물 내에 설치되어 경관이 우수하며, 구조가 간단하여 비체와 수류의 안정성이 뛰어나기 때문에 4개의 공사구간에 적용되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 강정보의 가동보 구간 2문 중 1문을 1/100 축척으로 제작하여 가변경사 개수로에 설치하고, 홍수 빈도별 상류 유량 조건과 하류단 수위조건으로 케이스를 정하여 실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험에서 사용한 개수로 장치는 너비 0.6 m, 높이 0.8 m, 그리고 길이 15.0 m(측정가능 구간, 헤드탱크와 테일게이트 부제외)의 개수로 실험장치이다. 측부는 모두 강화유리로 되어 육안관찰 및 계측 시 용이하게 제작되었으며, 순환식 유량 공급장치를 구축하여 수로의 하부에 설치된 유량탱크로부터 계속적으로 순환하도록 설계되었다. 또한 수로 하단으로부터 상단방향으로 약 33 m 지점에 전동 유압식 Jack screw 2기가 설치되어 경사도를 조절할 수 있도록 제작되었다. 유량조절용 판넬의 제어기판에는 디지털 경사계가 설치되어 있기 때문에 보다 정확한 경사도의 조절이 가능하다. 보 모형의 총연장은 53 cm이며 폭은 45 cm이다. 섹터게이트의 게이트부분은 직경 15 cm로 설계하였다. 문주부분을 포함한 모든 모형은 아크릴로 제작하며 레이저의 주사를 방해하지 않으며 투과율을 최대로 할 수 있도록 고강도의 아크릴을 가장 얇게 하여 중공형태를 채택하였다. 실험조건은 우선 보의 운영방안에 따라 게이트의 4가지 개방도를 설정하였고, 특히 평수위조건에서는 보의 상류부에 퇴적된 퇴적물의 세척을 위한 flushing 운영개방도 포함되어 있다. 홍수시에 대한 유량조건은 2년 빈도에 해당하는 유량을 수문의 비율과 상사법칙에 따라 설정하였으며 하류단 수위조건도 동일한 조건에 대한 값을 채택하여 적용하였다. 유동장의 해석을 위해서는 비접촉식 계측방법인 PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) 시스템을 채택하여 2차원(x-z 방향) laser sheet를 생성하고 주입된 particle에서 반사된 변위(displacement) 정보를 상호상관(cross-correlation)기법으로 유동장을 계산하였다. 또한 수리모형과 동일한 지형격자를 구축하여 3차원 CFD 프로그램인 FLOW-3D로 계산하여 결과를 비교하였다. 특히 flushing 운영방안에 대한 게이트부의 개방도를 세가지(30, 45, $60^{\circ}$)로 구분하여 모의하였고, 적절한 개방도를 제안하고자 하였다. 실험결과는 우선 4가지 운영방안에 대한 가동보 주변에서의 유속장을 파악하였고, 최대유속의 발생위치의 변화를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 이에 따른 보의 바닥에서 최대유속이 발생할 경우, 하상보호공 위치와 거리 등에 대해서 분석하였다. 이를 통해 가동보 운영에 따른 다양한 유속구조를 파악할 수 있게 되며 구조적 안정성 확보를 위한 검증자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. 향후, 가동보 운영방안 중 수세효과(flushing effect)에 대한 효과분석을 위해 게이트부 상류구간에 적절한 입경과 비중의 퇴적물질을 설치하는 연구와 상류부에서의 유입유사농도 및 시간변화에 따른 퇴적에 관한 연구를 수행할 계획이다.

A Study on the Characterization of PM$_{2.5}$, PM$_{10}$ Concentration at Asian and Non-Asian Dust in Asan Area (아산지역의 황사/비황사시 PM$_{2.5}$, PM$_{10}$ 농도특성에 관한 연구)

  • The characterization of PM$_{2.5}$ and PM$_{10}$ concentration is considered by analysis of ionic and heavy metal component to measured suspended particle at atmosphere in Hoseo university of Asan area. The variation of concentration is studied at the periods of asian dust occured. In asian dust, the PM$_{2.5}$ ratio is decreased from 79.7% to 40.1%, whereas the size-classified mean concentration of suspended particle is increased largely. It is found that the PM$_{2.5}$ ratio is decreased relatively because the coarse particle is increased largely according to the analysis of the mass concentration to divide the fine and coarse particle on 2.1 $\mu$m basis. It is observed that the Ca$^{2+}$ion is about 40 magnifications and Na$^+$, SO$_4{^{2-}}$ ion is increased in sequence in coarse particle, whereas the variation of ionic concentration is slightly increased in the fine particle. Furthermore, Mn, Fe, Zn, and Al are increased in sequence as the result of heavy metal component analysis, and Al is shown the most increased as mass concentration.

  • Size -segregated measurements of aerosol composition using 8-stage DRUM impactor are used to determine the transport of natural and anthropogenic aerosols at Gosan site from 29 March to 30 May in 2002. Separation of ambient aerosols by DRUM impactor offers many Advantages over other standard filtration techniques. Some of the most important advantages are the ability to segregate into details by particle tire, to better preserve chemical integrity since the air stream doesn't pars through the deposit, to collect samples as a function of time, and to have a wide variety of impaction surfaces available to match analytical needs. Although the transport of Yellow sand is a well-known phenomenon in springtime, the result of measurement shows that not only soil dust but also anthropogenic aerosols, including sulfur, enriched trace metals such as Pb, Ni, Zn. Cu, Cr, As, Se, Br, are transported to Gosan in springtime. This study combines the size- and time-resolved aerosol composition measurements with isentropic, backward air-mass trajectories in order to identify some potential source regions of anthropogenic aerosols. As a result, during the NYS period, the average concentration of PM$_{10}$ was 46$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥, Si, Al. S, Fe, Cl, K, Ca were higher than 1,000 ng/㎥ and Ti was about 100 ng/㎥. The concentrations of Zn, Mn, Cu. Pb, Br, Rb, V, Cr, Ni. At, Se ranged between 1 and 70 ng/㎥. More than 50% typical soil elements, tuck as Al, Si, Fe, Cd. Ti, Cr, Cu, Br. were distributed in a coarse particle range(5.0-12${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). In other hand, anthropogenic pollutants, luck as S, N, Vi, were mainly distributed in a fine particle range (0.09-0.56${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). During the YS period, PM$_{10}$ increased about 8 times than NYS period, and main soil elements, such as Al, Si, S, K, V, Mn, Fe also doubled in coarse particle range (1.15-12${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). But Zn, As, Pb, Cu and Se, which distributed in the time aerosols (0.09-0.56${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$), were on the same level with or decreased than NYS period. Finally. except the YS Period, coarse particles (2.5-12${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) are inferred to be influenced by soil, coal combustion, waste incineration, ferrous and nonferrous sources through similar pathways with Yellow Sand. But fine particles have different sources, such as coal combustion, gasoline vehicle, biomass burning, oil or coal combustion, nonferrous and ferrous metal sources, which are transported from China, Korea peninsula and local sources.ces.

Analysis of Characteristics for Bank Scour around Low Dam using 3D Numerical Simulation (3차원 수치모의를 이용한 보 접속부 세굴 특성 분석)

  • 보는 하천에서 취수나 하상유지를 위한 하천횡단구조물로 일반적으로 본체, 물받이, 바닥보호공 등으로 구성되며 제방 연결부 호안 및 밑다짐 등에 대한 설계기준이 하천설계기준에 제시되어 있다. 그러나 태풍 루사나 매미에 의한 피해사례를 보면 하천 횡단 구조물 본체가 파괴되는 피해 뿐만 아니라, 구조물과 제방과의 연결부가 세굴이 발생되어 붕괴되는 사례가 많이 발생하고 있다. 하천설계기준 해설(2009)에는 이러한 보와 제방의 연결부 부분을 연결호안이라하여 관련 기준을 제시하고 있으나, 설치구간의 길이를 정할 때 하천의 규모나 하도의 특성을 고려하지 못하고 일률적으로 결정하도록 하고 있다. 이에 건설기술연구원의 '보 및 낙차공 설계기술 개발 연구보고서'(윤광석 등, 2006)에서는 고정상 실험을 통해 연결호안 설치구간에 대한 실험식을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 수치모의를 통하여 건설기술연구원에서 수행하였던 실험을 재현하고, 제방을 이동상으로 하여 인자들 간의 상호 관계를 밝히며, 그 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 그리고 윤광석 등(2006)에 의해 제시된 실험식에 적용하여 검증하였다. 수치모의는 유량을 $0.7{\sim}2.8m^3/sec$까지 변화하며 수행하였으며, 유사의 대표입경은 0.63mm로, 상류수심은 1.0m로 일정하게 유지하였다. 수치모의는 평형세굴 발생 후, 최소 모의시간의 10%정도 지난 시간까지 하였다. 수치모의 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 유량이 증가함에 따라 유속 및 Froude 수가 증가하여 상 하류부 세굴 발생 범위와 폭은 증가하였다. (2) 상류는 하류에 비해 유량에 따른 세굴발생 범위가 상대적으로 작게 나타났으며, 이는 하류단에 비해 상류단의 유속 및 Froude 수의 차이가 작았기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. (3) 세굴의 폭을 측정함으로써 세굴에 가장 취약한 부분을 짐작할 수 있으며, 설계에 반영되어 호안이나 옹벽의 두께결정에 적용한다면 세굴에 대해 좀 더 안전한 설계가 될 수 있을 것이다. (4) 건설기술연구원(2006)에서 제시한 식(1)과의 비교를 통해 수치모의 결과가 식(1)로부터 계산된 값보다 작음을 알 수 있으며, 그 이유는 식(1)의 범위는 와류영역구간을 나타내서 연결호안 설치구간 길이를 제시하고 있는 반면, 본 연구의 수치모의 결과는 세굴이 발생한 범위를 제시하였기 때문이다. 향후 보 높이와 좀 더 다양한 유량에 대한 경우를 수치모의하고, 이동상 제방에 대한 실험을 통해 명확한 식을 제안 할 것이다.

Weatherability of Epoxy Cement Mortars without Hardener (경화제를 첨가하지 않은 에폭시 시멘트 모르타르의 내후성)

  • Epoxy resin has widely been used as adhesives and corrosion-resistant paints in the construction industry for many years, since it has desirable properties such as high adhesion and chemical resistance. Until now, in the production of conventional epoxy cement mortars, the use of any hardener has been considered indispensable for the hardening of the epoxy resin. However we have noticed the fact that even without any hardener, the hardening process of the epoxy resin can proceed by the action of hydroxides in cement mortars. As a result the disadvantages of the two-component mixing of the epoxy resin and hardener have been overcome. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mechanical properties and durability of epoxy cement mortar without a hardener exposed at indoor and outdoor for one year. The epoxy cement mortars without and with a hardener were prepared with various polymer-cement ratios, and tested for weight change, flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption, carbonation depth and pore size distribution. Especially, the basic properties of the epoxy cement mortars without hardener are discussed in comparison with ones with the hardener. From the test results, it is concluded thai the epoxy cement mortars without a hardener exposed at indoor and outdoor for one year have higher strength and better durability than ones with the hardener within the polymer-cement ratios of 10 to 20%.

Optimization of the Backfill Materials for Underground Power Cables considering Thermal Resistivity Characteristics (II) (열저항 특성을 고려한 지중송전관로 되메움재의 최적화(II))

  • In the precedent study it was presented that the comparison of thermal resistivity using various backfill materials including river sand regarding water content, dry unit weight and particle size distribution. Based on the precedent study, this study focused on developing the optimized backfill material that would improve the power transfer capability and minimize the thermal runaway due to an increase of power transmission capacity of underground power cables. When raw materials, such as river sand, recycled sand, crush rock and stone powder, are used for a backfill material, they has not efficient thermal resistivity around underground power cables. Thus, laboratory tests are performed by mixing Fly-ash, slag and floc with them, and then it is found that the optimized backfill material are required proper water content and maximum density. Through various experimental test, when coarse material, crush rock, is mixed with recycled sand, stone powder, slag or floc for a dense material, the thermal resistivity of it has $50^{\circ}C$-cm/Watt at optimum moisture content, and the increase of thermal resistivity does not happen in dry condition. The result of experiments approach the optimization of the backfill materials for underground power cables.
