Impedance Changes of Living Tissue During Radiation Exposure Dose (방사선 피폭선량에 대한 생체 조직의 임피던스 변화)

  • Bioimpedance involves a lot of information related to living tissue. If there is alteration in bio tissue, its electrical characteristics also change. It is to study electrical characteristics of pork tenderlion in using a HP-4194A Impedance/Gain-phase analyzer instrument and electrical characteristics changes by graded radiation exposure dose. The results were as follow 1. Electrical characteristics of pork tenderlion in repeated measurement had high precision within ${\pm}5$% of coefficiency of variability. 2. During the measurement impedance absolute value and phase alteration did not show statistically significant difference.(p>0.05) 3. While impedance phase of electrical characteristics associated with frequency change was almost stable, impedance absolute value was in inverse proportion to frequency that means high inverse correlation of -0.096(r). 4. Impedance absolute value dropped in radiation exposure dose. The alteration of the value did not show statistically significant difference in 1 Gy, 2 Gy and 4 Gy.(p>0.05) However in radiation exposure dose of 10 Gy, the decrease of impedance absolute value was significantly different.(p<0.05) 5. Impedance phase according to radiation exposure dose change did not show statistically significant difference in 1 Gy, 2 Gy, 4 Gy, and 10 Gy(p>0.05).

Investigation and measurement of indoor low voltage powerline impedance for high data rate powerline communications (PLC) (고속 전력선 통신용 옥내 저전압 전력선 임피던스 측정 및 특성 연구)

  • Since powerline for powerline communications (PLC) is designed for supplying electric power using 60 Hz wave, they will have different electrical behaviors for high data rate PLC whose bandwidth is allocated between 1 MHz and 30 MHz. Thus, it is necessary to investigate the different properties in this frequency bandwidth for the high data rate PLC. In this paper, low voltage (220V) powerline impedance for indoor high data rate PLC in between 1 MHz and 30 MHz is measured. For measurement a low voltage coupling unit is made and a vector network analyzer is used. A T-equivalent circuit of the low voltage coupling unit is obtained and then powerline impedance is derived by measuring the reflection coefficient of the total powerline network. With the method proposed, impedance is measured in case of a general korean apartment and its property is analyzed. Measurement shows that the average impedance is about 100Ω.

  • 본 논문은 프로우브 급전한 주기적인 위상 배열 마이크로스트립 안테나의 계산된 결과를 제시한다. 수치적인 마들은 엄밀한 그린 함수와 캘러킨 (Galerkin)해에 근거를 둔다. 임의의면(plane)에서의 입력 임피던스를 스캔 각도에 따라 계산하여 반사계수를 구하고 유전체의 유전율과 두께가 위상 배열 안테나에 미치는 영향을 제시한다. 표면파에 의한 스캔 블라인드 현상을 설명하고 유전체의 두께에 따른 E-면과 H-면에서의 입력 임피던스 대역폭을 계산한다.

  • In this study, the ISO 10534-2 "Determination of sound absorption coefficient and impedance in impedance tubes - Part 2: Transfer function method" was introduced and discussed. In order to make it as Korean Industrial Standard, several main contents of ISO 10534-2 are reviewed. Some experimental results are reconsidered.

  • 본 논문은 동작 주파수에 따른 임피던스 분석을 통해 무선 전력 전송 컨버터의 최적 설계 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 무선 전력 전송에는 크게 4가지의 토폴로지가 있는데 본 논문은 SS 토폴로지에 대한 최적 설계 방법을 제시한다. 무선 전력 전송이 가지는 근본적인 특징인 코일 간의 낮은 커플링 계수로 인해 컨버터 설계 시 많은 제약 사항들을 고려해야 한다. 일반적인 변압기와 달리 코일 간의 커플링 계수가 0.2 안팎이므로 충분한 자화 인덕턴스를 가지기 위해서는 코일의 턴 수를 늘리는 방안이 있으나 턴 수에 따라 코일 저항이 늘어나, 도통 손실이 증가하는 문제가 있다. 또한 낮은 자화 인덕턴스는 높은 자화전류에 의한 컨버터의 1차 측 전류의 상승을 야기하며, 도통손실을 증가시킨다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 무선 전력 전송용 컨버터의 최적 설계를 임피던스 변화의 관점에서 수학적인 분석을 통해 제안하고, 그에 따른 시뮬레이션으로 검증하고자 한다.

Measurement of Blood Flow Variation using Impedance Method (임피던스법을 이용한 혈류량 변화 측정)

  • In this study, we made the system to measure variation of blood flow using bio-electrical impedance analysis method. The system, which could measure variation of impedance according to pressure change by artificial pressure, consists of pressure measurement and impedance measurement by 4-electrode method. Pressure measurement splits into semiconducting pressure sensor and electronic circuit for processing output signal. In addition, impedance measurement splits into constant current source circuit and lock-in amplifier for detection impedance signal. We experimented feature of impedance measurement using standard resistance to evaluate the system characteristic. As well as, we experimented to estimate variation of blood flow by measuring impedance and blood flow resistance ratio using mean arterial pressure and variation of blood flow with experimental group. As result of this study, blood flow resistance ratio and variation of blood flow were definitely in inverse proportion and were -0.96776 as correlation coefficient by correlation analysis.

Numerical Computation of the Backscattering Coefficients of Rice Fields Using the Impedance Boundary Condition, Moment Method and Monte Carlo Method (임피던스 경계 조건, 모멘트 법과 몬테 카를로 방법을 이용한 논의 산란계수 수치적 계산과 측정 데이터와의 비교)

  • A numerical algorithm for estimating precise backscattering coefficients of rice fields is proposed and its accuracy is verified in this paper. After a bunch of rice plants above water surface is modeled with a bunch of randomly oriented lossy dielectric bodies above an impedance surface and the equivalent volume currents of the lossy dielectrics are computed using the moment method. Then, the scattered fields of a rice field with many bunches are computed with a Monte Carlo method, and consequently the backscattering coefficient of the rice field is computed for various incidence angles and polarizations. Finally, the backscattering coefficient of a rice field is measured at 1.85 GHz using an R-band scatterometer system, and these experimental data are used to verify the numerical algorithm proposed in this paper. It is found that the numerical computation results agree well with the measurement data.

Analytical Studies for Application of SPT Dynamic Signals to Estimate the Elastic Property of the Soil Deposit (표준관입시험의 동적신호를 이용한 지반 물성치 추정의 해석적 연구)

  • A test method has been attempted to estimate the soil stiffness by measuring and analyzing dynamic signals of stress waves reflected at the bottom end of the SPT rod contacting a soil deposit. Before conducting a real size testing, a series of parametric studies were conducted in this paper to examine the applicability and the theoretical adequacy of the test method. As a result of these studies, it has been shown that the most significant influence factor affecting the amplitude ratio of the reflected wave to the incident wave at the rod-soil interface was the variation of soil stiffness. Also, the variation of the amplitude ratio was found to be closely related with the variation of impedance ratio of the soil deposit to the SPT rod. As a result, a potential of the test method could be proved to estimate the impedance and the elastic modulus of the soil deposit interfaced with the SPT rod using the test method.

  • To properly design and assess a piezoelectric vibration energy harvester, it is necessary to consider the application of an efficiency measure of energy conversion. The energy conversion efficiency is defined in this work as the ratio of the electrical output power to the mechanical input power for a piezoelectric vibration energy harvester with an impedance-matched load resistor. While previous research works employed the electrical output power for approximate impedance-matched load resistance, this work derives an efficiency measure considering optimally matched resistance. The modified efficiency measure is validated by comparing it with finite element analysis results for piezoelectric vibration energy harvesters with three different values of the electro-mechanical coupling coefficient. New findings on the characteristics of energy conversion and conversion efficiency are also provided for the two different impedance matching methods.

Gysel 3:1 variable power divider using the dual characteristic impedance transmission line (이중 특성 임피던스 선로를 이용한 Gysel 3:1 가변 전력분배기)

  • The Gysel divider has the advantage of easily setting the resistor in the circuit. If the line impedance in the Gysel divider is set differently, the input signal can be distributed to the two output ports at various distribution ratios. This paper proposes the Gysel divider that can change the power distribution to 1:3 or 3:1 by changing the line impedance. The impedance change of the line can be implemented by placing a floating copper plate on the bottom of the microstrip-line. When the floating copper plate and the ground plane are connected, the line operates as the microstrip-line, and when the floating copper plate and the ground plane are disconnected, the line operates as the coplanar-line. The proposed Gysel divider was fabricated at the center frequency of 1.5GHz. The fabricated 3:1 Gysel divider has a stable value S11 of below -17dB, S21/S31 of 4.8±0.2dB, S21(to high output port) of -1.39±0.12dB and S31(to low output port) of -6.15±0.08dB over 1.3~1.7GHz.
