Clinical study in 40 cases for patients with stomach cancer taken Hangammyunyouk I (抗癌免疫1號方) (항암면역(抗癌免疫) 1호방(號方)을 투여(投與)한 위암환자(胃癌患者) 40례(例)에 대(對)한 임상고찰(臨床考察))

  • Clinical studies were carried out 40 cases of patients with stomach cancer treated by "Hangammyunyouk I(抗癌免疫1號方)", from September 1th 1997 to May 1th 1998. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Distribution of those attached by stomach cancer, by sex, showed that Male is more then Female, by age, showed that the number of fifties is majority. 2. Distribution of diagnostic stage, on descending order, stage III, stage IV. 3. Distribution of treatment attached by stomach cancer, in descending order: Chemotherapy and operation, chemotherapy, Radiation therapy and operation. 4. After taken herb medicine, the effects according to the symptoms were as follows; Nausea and Vomiting, Constipation, General body weakness, Average efficacy of symptoms were 68.1%. 5. Analysis of hematology attached by stomach cancer, increasing of WBC(61.5%), Hgb(54.5%), Platelet(62.5%) were observed.

  • 32case study was done involuntary tremor which was diagnosed with Neurological test,Brain CT scan,Brain MRI. The results was followed; 1. Psysiological tremor was improved on 16case by Kamisoyosan and Acupuncture of Nagwan,Kongson,Sochung,Sohae,Taedon 2. Tremor was improved on 13cases of 16cases by Sasangbang,Husebang and Chezil-Acupuncture.

  • Object : This study was carried out to investigate the bowel disorders following parkinson's disease. Methods : We studied 2 patients with constipation followed by parkinson's disease. Both were diagnosed as COLONOTONIA - according to 8 Constitution medicine. Case 1 was treated with methods of 8 Constitution therapy and herbal medication(Sopoongsoongee-won). Case 2 was treated with method of 8 Constitution therapy only. Conclusions : After treatment, symptom of constipation were improved in both case.

  • Back ground: The purpose of this study was to examine the patient's satisfaction of Sympathicotomy and clinical observation by Oriental medicine. Methods: We studied 93 hyperhidrosis patients after Sympathicotomy. They were treated on East-West Hyperhidrosis Clinic, Kyung Hee University Medical Center, from October 1999 to February 2002. Resurt and Conclusion: The most patients were satisfied with treatment effects of Sympathicotomy and there were few side effects. The only complain was compensatory sweating. Sympathicotomy can be recommended as a useful treatment for hyperhidrosis. Clinical study by Oriental medicine on hyperhidrosis patients was showed that hyperhidrosis could be observed at Taeeumin, Soyangin and Soeumin. We can find the new treatment of compensatory sweating, by Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Oriental diagnosis.

  • Objectives : This study was intended to establish for medical treatment range of Ojeoksan and to help extending application of medical insurance through prescriptive research. Methods : We analyzed "Dongeuibogam", "Taepyeonghaeminhwajegukbang" and other books Result : 1. composition of Ojeoksan in "Dongeuibogam" is same as in "Gogeumeuigam" 2. Ojeoksan is composed of five kinds of basic prescripitions; Er Chen Tang, Ping Wei San, Ma Huang Tang, Si Wu Tang etc. and it used for five pathological factors; cold, energy, eating, phlegm, blood. 3. Property of Ojeoksan is warm so it can be used for any cold diseases. 4. Ojeoksan is used for 16 kinds of diseases including chest pain, abdominal pain etc. Conclusion : Ojeoksan can be used for cardiovascular disorders and Ojeoksan is possible to apply or to extend medical insurance coverage.

  • 1. Purpose : From a viewpoint of Lee Je-ma, We consider the principle of shape(form) and image and try out a share of recognition about shape(form) and image in all its aspects. 2. Method : Especially we compared HeoJun's point of view with Lee Je-ma's point of view. 3. Result & Conclusion 1) The most important thing for an appearance of shape(form) and image is a differential Qi of sorrow- anger-joy-pleasure. 2) Lee Je-Ma chose a point of view from inside to outside in principle. 3) A method of materialism can be used when we give medical treatment. 4) Shape(form) and image is a method of constitutional diagnosis from a viewpoint of Lee Je-ma. 5) Shape(form) and image has a formal(typical) type, but the thing which is fixed do not exist, therefore partial shape(form) and image is possible. 6) We should observe a condition of mind, but objectivity and reappearance always remain.

  • Objective : The aims of this study were to show the clinical state and to investigate depression and anxiety by BDI and STAI scale in tension headache patients. Method : The patient group was consisted of the 20 patients with Tension Headache who were treated in Department of Neuropsychiatry, Daejeon University Oriental Hospital from 3 March 2003 to 30 September 2003. The control group was consisted of the 20 patients on physical therapy with cerebaral vascular disorder in the Daejeon University Cheonan Oriental Hospital. The patient group was investigated by various characteristics, and compared with the control group by BDI and STAI scores. Result : 1. The ratio of female was higher, the 40 aged were higher frequence, in distribution of the period of the clinical history, short term within 1 week was the most.. 2. Tension headache was most frequent at whole portion, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, general body weakness were mainly coexited, and the prescription invigorating spleen supplementing qi and tonifying qi and blood. 3. The BDI score was higher in patient group, but there was no significant difference 4. The STAI score was higher in patient group, but there was no significant difference.

A Clinical Study on Low Back Pain Patients with Warming Acupuncture Therapy (온침(溫鍼)을 시행(施行)한 요각통(腰脚通) 환자(患者)의 임상(臨床) 고찰(考察))

  • Objective : The aim of this was to investigate the effect of warming acupuncture therapy on patients who had suffered from low back pain. Methods : The 42 person who had hospitalized in Jaseng hospital were rendomized into two groups. We treated 22 persons by warming acupuncture on every other day. The others were treated by only traditional acupuncture therapy alone. VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), ODI(Oswestry Disability Index) and the angle of SLR(Straight Leg Raising test) were measured on each week from admission for four weeks. Results : 1. Sample group showed significantly more improvement than control group at 3 weeks in ODI score. 2. Sample group showed significantly more improvement than control group at 2 weeks in VAS score. 3. The angle of SLR test was not significantly different between two groups, but there was a tendency of increasing on sample group. Conclusions : According to above results, warming acupuncture therapy was more effective on the treatment of low back pain than general oriental medical therapy without it.
